I was going to say the Harrier too, I just got it yesterday and I have not landed yet :) but it is a much more complex plane than any other. I love flipping switches especially now that I have my PointControl devices but man there is a lot to remember.

I am sorry if anyone has already reported but I can’t find it here or on reddit. But for some reason I can’t get laser guides bombs to track the laser anymore. Yes, all have the same laser codes; 1688 for bombs and flir. Bombs set to auto, mfuz off, efuz inst trigger selected on flir screen, laser switch low right set in forward position. Pull trigger on stick and it goes from arm to tl/dr. I watched Wag’s video on it twice. Get the release que, bomb releases but does not track. I must be missing something. While trying to figure it out I stumbled another question. I find my first target, do everything and get the bomb line. Find another target, switch to point track, then depress right but never get the bomb line again. Sorry if this is something obvious.

PointCTRL - Finger Mounted VR Controller

Ok my report 1 day after receiving PointCTRL:pilotfly::thumbup::thumbup::cheer3nc::bounce::thumbsup: Ok, seriously it is amazing in many ways. First, of all, the support Miles and others provide. I had the pleasure of getting help from Miles this afternoon as I had a few issues and misunderstandings. - first, the FCU doesn't shine brightly because your eyes can't see IR light, but cameras can :megalol: I only saw these little red lights. I thought I did something wrong. Miles solved that problem in 2 seconds. - As I am blind in my left eye I think it threw the calibration off somewhat in the sense I see less on the left side in my VR view. Miles was great to help make sure I did the calibration correctly. I flew a couple of missions this evening and the difference is clear. I take off and during the first 30 seconds of my climb out, I already have most of my weapons and other systems configured. it is so easy to flip switches or go through DDI's. This adds such a major sense of immersion for me, it was what was missing. Thanks, Miles for a great product which will only get better. It has renewed my motivation to fly DCS. Peter- 3421 replies

I have both my sticks setup in DCS, for the original WH stick and my newer F-18 one. I have adapted a mission where I put all the planes that I own on the tarmac and I can select which one I want to fly. I use this mission to practice A-G weapon deliveries. my question is can I hot-swap my sticks or do I need to get out of DCS, unplug the stick, switch the stick, plug it back in and start DCS again? Secondly, how are the control files supposed to work, in the beginning, I would save the control setup file for each airplane until I saw that all planes are in the same file. it seems now that when I connect a different stick it does not remember the settings from the other stick. I can understand this as it is a different USB device. Will the system think it is a different stick when I plug the WH into a different USB port? Thanks, Peter

As the owner of both I have to agree, Rift S is crisper.

Is VID in VR Hopeless? Labels unavoidable?
DutchCoolHand replied to Nealius's topic in Virtual Reality
I have modified the labels on my system where they give no indication of the airplane, name etc nor foe or friendly. Just a small grey dot. I did it when flying with the odyssey + and now flying with the Rift S it is even better. It helps me identify planes a little bit earlier. I also modified the distance at which they show up as the airplanes gets closer it is turned off, if I remember correctly at 5000 meters. I still have a hard time keeping track of the enemy plane when dogfighting but with the Rift S it is clearly better. -
1 - the low altitude is your radar altimeter, not really an alarm. Nothing for high altitude 2- there are volume buttons in the cockpit but I have not changed, and are you referring to the radar altimeter sound? 3- the frame rate will be in the upper left corner

Ok apologize if I don’t understand your problem, but you keep saying I start oculus and DCS from the desktop and then put the goggles on. I think what others are trying to say is start oculus, put the goggles on and select the virtual desktop with the oculus controllers and on your virtual desktop start DCS. That is how start it and I did the same when I was using the Odessey +

After practising many times over the last months and maybe be able to connect once or twice, i decided to try it again last night and was finally able to stay on for about 15 seconds. I increased the friction of my throttle so I was less jerky and that seemed to help. I will practice again tonight. I was pretty stoked when I able to connect.

DutchCoolHand replied to MilesD's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Practical question I have a practical question, I am in the next batch, number 135 and I am trying to figure out how far I have to reach out my hands to touch the buttons in the cockpit. How far away from your monitor do you sit? I fly in VR and wonder if have to move further back because when I get into a cockpit I always have to move back as I am to close to the DDI’s Pete- 3421 replies
