In the Mission editor I noticed that your flight has a waypoint action: 'Search, then engage in zone' on the TGT waypoint. This zone encloses only the column. Telling your wingman to attack 'mission' will make him attack the column while not engaging anything else.

Not quite. The Su-25T's Skhval works in a different way. It seems to automaticly snap on target. Not realistic... It could be easier because of that... Never tried.
-
Fingers crossed it is then. Hopefully I will not be required to revive this thread again. Thanks Wags!

My answer is always: "Read the manual!" I'd like to help people who want to seriously get involved, not people who were attracted by the possibility to blow up stuff. The latter category seems to be most abundant amongst our new steam recruits.
-
Welcome! Good to see that there are people finding DCS via steam who want to seriously get involved with this wonderfull flightsim platform. (Instead of people who only want to blow up stuff and ask question's like: "How do I take off?")

Hold down the lock button while moving the Shkval, then release slightly in front of him. I have several A10C kills using Vikhr's from the Ka-50 and a couple of gun kills. Their common mistake is to approach me head on. A/A TGT on, Head-on airborne target on, burst lengt to medium or long in order to fire 2 vikhrs. Then lock the A10 WITHOUT laser turned on (he might notice on the RWR). The when he is in range to fire, turn on the laser and double launch!

My favourite (known :megalol: ?!) bug survived DCSW 1.2.5. So proud! No offence ED, you're doing a great job on DCSW. It's just that a very small bug like this is known for over a year now and is always ignored. Just like the Black Shark's Skhval and pulse doppler sensor that cannot be repaired.
-
Indeed, that is not even possible. All time related triggers are related to the mission start or to flags.
-
I think this is good and realistic. You objective is to strike a certain group. Damaging or killing a single unit from that group already yields a result... In the missions I make I usually reward points for damaging the target.

Why can't the F-18 another couple of years  The 25A won't take as long to develop anyway... FM - Check 3D pit - Check We need realistic avionics in a clickable cockpit and the external 3D model + textures need some work. Please ED. :)

The first mission from cold war warrior? a column of IFV Marder's? I took them out in one low level run. Laid down a nice carpet of FAB-100 bombs :)

I might even pick DCS Su25A over the F-18C. Yesterday I had the most awesome flight simulator moment of my life. It was a multiplayer mission. I took of from Sochi, armed with rockets, bombs and guns. The plan was to fly south and attack the airport of Kutaisi, which was defended by a patriot and a hawk battery, as well as some SHORADS. After dodging about five Patriot missiles I dived down to my planned attack altitude (nap of earth). So I flew towards Kutaisi at maximum speed, dodged a Hawk on the way and prepared for the attack. I conducted multiple attack runs, dodging multiple IR SAM, but came to the conclusion that I need the depressable gunpods for effective low altitude attacks as I couldn't afford one moment out of cover. So in the end I destroyed nothing and while I was busy watching my plane in F2 I climbed out of cover and was hit by a Stinger, which took out my elevator, causing the nose to pitch down rapidly. No time to eject, Boom! End of story. Only then I noticed I was literally shaking from excitement, my legs feeling heavy when I walked away from my desk. I probably wouldn't make a good real life attack pilot as the amount of adrenaline and shaking will cause structural damage even before I get hit. Next time I take gunpods and stay in the cockpit to watch my altitude. I would never have done this in the A10C, but the Su-25 forces me to use strategies such as these. Absolutely awesome!

You ask for a someone's track file? Would only work if there is some kind of automated way of getting someone's track file. But asking for a track file and make a random person send it seems extremely impractical to me. Most of them do not answer questions via chat. Let alone...
-
Do you mean 1 or 2? 1 - Not so much... 2 - Still many pilots, including me. edit: Oh now I get it. 'iv had the first one'. So see option 1 above.
-
DCS Su-25A Would be so awesome together with the Mig-21, the Huey and other modules yet to come...

^This. Because on medium or low shadow setting, the cockpit shadow box ticked or unticked makes no difference. There will be no shadows.

Good luck, have fun!

[DCS World - A10-C] - RWR Audio Expansion

I still can't find where the FC3 avionics code is... -
[DCS World - A10-C] - RWR Audio Expansion
TurboHog replied to Tetra's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
Hey, Where can I actually find the code for FC3 avionics? It's not in the mods folder and the scripts folder doesn't seem to contain it either. I'm also looking for a way to use this excellent mod in FC3 aircrafts . EDIT: Think I found something in the database section... EDIT2: Does not include the definitions for the western FC3 RWR. It would be nice if you can create a new system, namely the ALR69, for FC3 aircrafts. -
You misunderstood. I'm not talking about how advanced they are. I'm talking about how much you can learn about these systems. Advanced or horribly outdated, I don't care. For example I recently learnt about making RAIM status predictions in the ABRIS. Not that I use it very often, but it indicates that you never stop learning with DCS modules.
-
The Ka-50 has some extremely detailed avionics and systems that can really keep you busy for some time. Even the mechanical clock requires some reading before you know how to adjust the time of day :). You can make it as difficult to learn as you want depending on how much in detail you want to know about it's systems, mechanical components etc etc. I find it quite easy in combat. The automated systems and the K-041 Nav and combat system help alot if you use them properly. Over the past 5 years I've developed some strategies for myself and now I rarely get shot down anymore, even in sam intensive and no outside view missions. I own all modules and for some reason I always return the Ka-50. Best sim ever produced.

The August 2nd Wags Update! Thread
TurboHog replied to Silver_Dragon's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
True, but, optimistic as I am :smilewink:: ... hopefully no kids thinking: Oh! A shooter with planes! There generally is some kind of friendliness between players in large, open PVP MP servers which I hope will not turn into the 'I f***ed your mother' kind of scenes if more 'gamers' join. -

Old. See http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=1821950&postcount=3 It briefly mentions this/another patch though. -
DCS 1.2.5 Released, Update 2 Released
TurboHog replied to SkateZilla's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
Dear ED, Please release patch notes BEFORE uploading the actual patch. I will just wait this one out until the patch notes are released. I remember last time an unannounced patch came out... -
Hey, - Don't use easy comms and use the PTT button (Ralt+\ I believe) - Try the 'official' Ka-50 JTAC training mission and see how that works out. - Do a manual installation. Maybe a vital JTAC file is being overwritten! - Sometimes the JTAC option does not appear the first time you hit the PTT button. Try again. For me everything works fine so the files are good.
