To make the new version APPEAR to be more substantial than it is.. (And sometimes to move as far away from a previous kludge as possible.. ) In this case I think probably BOTH

Hmmm... Track IR is DEAD .. (because of Oculus?) Sounds a LOT like the following to me.. Cars are DEAD because we will all have jetpacks. (Stated in the 50's) A-10 is GONE because the F-35 will replace it. (I think that plane has been brought back to life at least 3 times now) PCs are dead becasue of IPADS and consoles.. (Give me a friggin BREAK on that one! LOL But folks keep saying it like it is true..) Point is don't throw your Track IR in the trash can just yet, the Oculus Rift looks awesome, and I believe it will be a big game changer, but there are a lot of things that we don't yet know about the OR and could completely change WHAT we think about it. Besides, it isn't even RELEASED yet.. Who knows when it will become mainstream? (and for the record I love my track IR... No issues here as long as you understand how it works and what the limitations are...)

570 to a 980 and no difference at all? Come on I went from a 560 to 770... A MUCH smaller jump than you made and there was a huge difference.. You might want to search the forums for optimizing ideas because that ain't right!

LOL Wow the attitude is awesome! Please be sure to let us know how this approach works on getting what you want.. Spout BS with zero reinforcing info, then get nasty when asked for specific info and tell those you are trying to convince to look it up for ourselves... Dale Carnegie would be proud! LOL What a RAY of sunshine...

Actually yes I do and that is why I think you are full of it... (I am CERTAIN that they have better information that you do..) and the fact that you give no reference for your BS statement simply reinforces that ... Not to mention the fact that your attitude has now simply made everyone not give a rat whether you were right or not in the first place.. Buh bye!

2 818 kilometer/hour = 782.777 777 78 meter/second Where did you come up with 600m/s for the Vikhr?

Once again a customer has forgotten that ED is running a business and is not there to be at the OP's beck and call and to provide each and every whim he may want. The reality is that a business has to make money to stay a business.. One way of doing this is to diversify.. (Just like the stock market.) I personally am glad that ED has decided to do things this way... They are diversifiying by adding WW2 and bringing in the die hard WW2 fans. (and once they are hooked on WW2 how many of them will look at the other offereings available? Had they not been lured in with WW2 they wouldn't even care about the other airframes so win-win for ED. They are also adding WW2 with an entire SEPARATE TEAM of devs so it will not get in the way of the other things ED are doing.. (EDGE, Hornet etc..) Good move on ED's part.. And finally, who in their right mind can say the 3rd party dev system has been anything other than a success in relation to ED and customers getting quality modules? (And for the naysayers, ALL of the 3rd party issues have been issues within the 3rd party companies... Some companies have issues and some are better than others... That is life..) The business MODEL works and we have received more products this year than ever before and all of them at a very high DCS level... And one further issue I see are the customers themselves.. Many of the folks on this forum want to see absolutely every possible decision and every move that is made and then can't handle it when things are done differently or when something goes wrong and causes a delay. Then the infinite "Is it ready yet?" threads Take a long look at yourselves and ask yourself if you are REALLY up to handling that kind of constant communication? In the past a dev would make the program and then release it to stores and it wasn't until AFTER release that folks even knew about it. I think many folks here are not able to handle the constant ups and downs that goes with the reality of codewriting.. (Or just standard business concerns.) Those folks should check in once a month or so and walk away.. If for nothing more than their OWN sanity.. To the OP.. I am not a fan of WW2 either, but the ONLY bearing WW2 in DCS has for us is that ED will have more revenue coming in to develop those projects that DO interest us.. I have been around long enough to know that not every decision made will be the exact decision I want, but looking at ED I can say that for the most part I am with them all the way... Stop looking at things from an "I want" perspective and look at it as if it was YOUR business and then ask yourself "How would you solve the following issues?" 1) Very long timeframe to develop ED quality modern planes (You offer easier planes to develop in between the release of the more advanced planes.) 2) Very small niche customer base (You provide the best simulation possible. PERIOD. And while taking the time necessary to do it right.. You provide easier planes to develop in between releases.) 3) Very small customer base. (You lure in WW2 fans to get them HOOKED on DCS and then they may look at the other offerings as well) Besides, there is a very LARGE customer fan base for WW2 modules. Why not tap that? 4) Very long development times for advanced airframes. (Add 3rd party devs so that multiple teams are working on multiple projects at once... Eventually we will have airframes being released every few months or so ranging from WW2 thru to modern planes and helicopters of today.) All this Doom and Gloom is ridiculous.. ED is making good decisions to combat some of the large issues that affect their business and their customers.. Like I said stop looking at it from an "I want this" basis and look at things from a business standpoint and you will see that the decisions make perfect sense.. Even if we don't necessarily LIKE every one of them..

So what is the deal? I have ONE pic of the Multistrada and it gets removed.. And yet everyone else can have multiple pics and that is OK? WTF?

I hope you didn't touch that bulb with your bare fingers... The oil off of your hands will burn that bulb out in a matter of hours... Anyway, nice bike... I am a lifetime rider here and have owned just about every sport bike known to man... (Really.. More than 50 motorcycles/snowmobiles in my life starting at 4 years old.. First streetbike a 1976 CB550k and then a brand new Honda Hurricane 600 and on from there!) Last year I swapped off my KTM RC8R (Stupid fast and silly motorcyle that one!) and picked up something more suitable that my wife could ride on the back... NO WAY I was putting her on the RC8.. Bought a 2013 Ducati Multistrada and really enjoy it... Not as fast as the RC8, but it doesn't try to kill you every time you start it either!

Islamic State fight could breathe new life into the A-10
outlawal2 replied to SharpeXB's topic in Military and Aviation
If you mean supporting rebels on the ground I would say doubtful... If for no other reason than the language barrier... -
And that is what makes the world go round.. Everyone has their own opinions and each one of us have to decide what is important to us.. Spend much time on this forum though and you will see that you are in the minority when it comes to communication.. That is probably the MOST complained about aspect on this forum.. You may not find it important to you, but to the vast majority of folks on this forum it is vital... :)

Try to line it up as close to the same level as the clip as possible. If it is too high or too low it will lose sight and do all kinds of weird things... Also, turn around and look and see if there is any other light source in the background. I fought with mine for the longest time before I figured out that the light in the next room was screwing it up. I turn that light off now before any TIR sessions and it works great..

Why does this BS video keep being posted by the daft? There are so many things wrong with this BS I can't even BEGIN... May this useless BS video die a burning death.. GOOD GOD

Bacon and NANDOS.. While flying an F-22... MMMMmm, TASTY!

I don't know, I think it beats the HECK out of all of the "Is it ready yet?" "When will it be released?" "Is it delayed?" "Are we there yet?" At least these threads are useful to the DEVS in that they show what folks are interested in..

My guess is the OP is a huge fan of their MIG-21 and feel that LN would create a similarly detailed helicopter... And their communication with customers is as good as it gets! (VEAO being the other 3rd party DEV that really communicates with their customers well)

EDGE is the video rendering engine ONLY so EDGE will have zero bearing on whether DCS is multi-cored or not.. At this point they are focusing on EDGE the graphics renderer and not re-writing the entire DCS World program.. So in a nutshell EDGE will showup supporting Multi GPU's but the overall program will still NOT be multi-cored... Changing from single core to a truly multi-core environment would take an entire rewrite of the whole program and since they are in the middle of EDGE I wouldn't want to try to tackle that either...

What GPU for i7 2600k build for DCS
outlawal2 replied to ExGreyFox's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
No one knows for sure about EDGE but that setup will run DCS nicely for now.. Maybe have to turn some things down a bit but certainly decent ... If you can afford one model up on the GPU though I think you will have a bit more room for EDGE when it comes out... EDGE SHOULD run better from the fact that it utilizes DX11, but they are also adding a LOT of eyecandy as well so my guess is that when all is said and done EDGE will run SLIGHTLY slower than current DCS but will look tremendous. (And that is my BEST GUESS and as such it is worth what it is worth..) -
Only a fan as far as their helicopters go... Not a 'liner fan at all...

And the relevance of mentioning VMware in a thread asking about hyper threading and DCS would be?? Can we stay somewhere in the same ZIP CODE of the topic that the OP started please?
-
In a nutshell for the OP... For the purposes of DCS, leave hyperthreading enabled and forget about it.. (DCS does not use it so no harm no foul, and when you DO happen to run a different multi core app such as video editing you will see great benefits using hyperthreading.) Basically leave it be and forget about it..

If it has rotors and Belsimtek releases it... I will buy it... PERIOD

Can we nominate more than one individual? (And by the way this is a pretty cool idea... )
