  1. Gee big surprise.. More naysayers making crap up to support their own biases regarding an aircraft they haze ZERO workable information on and know next to nothing about... AWESOME!
  2. Response rate refers to how quickly it starts to draw to the screen... REFRESH rate refers to how fast it actually draws the pixels on the screen and fills it up... The refresh rate still determines how fast it takes the graphics card to draw the pixels and fill up your screen. That has not changed with flat panels... What HAS changed is that flat panels have a NATIVE resolution and using anything other than that native resolution will yield different levels of crappy viewing.. (With CRTs you could use pretty much any resolution and they were all displayed nice and clear. Flat panels today look like crap if you select anything other than native resolution.)
  3. You DID post that question already.. (I remember reading it yesterday.. ) You are not losing your mind! Wonder if the website is having issues as I have seen other folks asking about missing posts as well... ??
  4. Hmmm. ZERO issues for me this morning and been on several hours now..
  5. BOTH! If I feel like flying around and practicing real helicopter flight that is the most similar to 99% of all helicopters in the real world then I fly the Huey.. If I want to fly a more advanced helicopter with high tech gadgets and systems I fire up the Shark.. They are both excellent modules and fill rather different niches... Neither is a favorite for me, just depends on my mood..
  6. LOL Yeah I have a comprehension problem.. WOW
  7. Everyone is coming at you because you are making statements that have absolutely NOTHING at all to do with the conversation at hand.. And then you go back and reread and still do not comprehend what was said.. NOBODY said ED was delaying 2.0 due to the forum comments.. How about you go back and read ALL the statements made and not cherry pick the ones that catch your eye.. Spewing nonsense is exactly what folks are talking about and you have managed to reinforce this nicely..
  8. And there is a classic example of what we are talking about.. Please READ the thread before posting.. NOWHERE was this stated... (And no I am not going to explain it, please re-read the comments)
  9. I was under the impression (for some reason) that NTTR was pretty much done and that they were waiting for EDGE to release them both at the same time. IIRC NTTR requires EDGE... Then when it looked like EDGE was going to be delayed, then they decided to add some more options to the NTTR map since they were waiting on EDGE anyway.. (Seem to recall something like a few more airstrips being added) And no I do not have a link to the thread, just going from memory..
  10. Sounds like a mafia hit or something.. (Car bomb) Or in this case it is an airplane!
  11. Absolutely... All I can say is just consider the source.. If you look at pretty much ANYTHING this guy has posted you will see nothing but negativity and similar postings such as the one you are commenting about.. :(
  12. I like that.. NICE
  13. Intel makes the chipset so their information should be more solid than Asus..
  14. Yep I feel yer pain my friend.. I have set the prop to auto and roll the throttle on until a little bit of speed is attained and never get past 2500 RPM... Keeping the beast straight is not easy, but I have been able to do it, but just about the time the plane gets enough speed to lift off it will veer to the side (usually to the left and drag the wing) I then fight with it until a fiery death amid a flaming end over end tumbling fireball. Quite spectacular really.. If I am very lucky, I can get the plane to lift off only to have it do a snap roll into the ground... (Ending once again in an end over end fireball..) I think this plane is the REAL reason Germany lost the friggin war... HELP! :helpsmilie::helpsmilie::helpsmilie::helpsmilie: EDIT: and yes auto rudder is off, takeoff assistance is off and auto prop is set..
  15. Another consideration is what is the overall load on system resources by the entire sim? Since I doubt in your example that the planes are modelled with anything even close to the fideilty as ED, you can provide better graphics since the system isn't using as many resources. EVERYTHING is a compromise and since we will NOT scrimp on our airframe fidelity (and no complaints on that front here!) this means that the remaining resources for graphics are reduced... Something has to give somewhere.. And that was a simple "In general" statement as I think the new screenshots look great.. Also considering the fact that nothing is set in stone at this point and WIP I think they are awesome...
  16. Excellent. Thank you sir!
  17. OK I have seen reference to take off assistance and turning it off... Where? I cannot seem to locate that option anywahere?
  18. My suggestion would be NOT to go with an I7 unless you have a specific need for one such as video editing... Buy the baddest I5 they make and it will save you some cash and will work as well as any I7 will as far as DCS goes.. (EDGE will not change the fundamental underpinnings of DCS so it is very doubtful that multi threading will be supported by ED anytime in the near future so an I7 would be wasted..) My opinion is that this machine will be ready to be upgraded again before DCS will sufficiently support multi threading so I would nix the I7 and save some cash... As always, simply my opinion so it is worth what it is worth!
  19. And the point of that would be...???
  20. NEVER... NEVER AGAIN will I buy anything from Ubisoft.. Burned so many times by that company and their poor quality.. I can't even LIST all the titles with broken triggers, non-working scripting and endless levels with no save function that makes you repeat the same crap 1000 times before you can move forward.. (Not to mention draconian copy protection that more than once made the title completely unusable and they even admitted that there was no fixing the issue.. ) And then balked at giving me my money back.. Absolutely abhor that company.. (And we ALL know about the fine example of LOCK-on and the licensing crap that went along with it... Welcome to Ubisoft!) Good Luck to anyone that purchases anything from Ubisoft.. EDIT: And please understand that this has NOTHING at all to do with the OP, so please do not take offense as this is solely my opinion of UBISOFT... I sincerely hope you enjoy the game and have no issues..
  21. ..To all of our machines?!?!?! That could take DAYS! (sorry couldn't resist)
  22. Hmmm, may have been posted before, but saying that the livery disappearing when zoomed is not a bug is.. Well.. WRONG Whatever the reason for it, the behavior is not correct and warrants a fix..
  23. The lowest amount of memory is used... So if 2 cards are used and one has 2 Gig and one has 4 Gig you are only going to be able to use 2 Gig in SLI.. EDIT: Same goes for Crossfire..
  24. I will never understand threads like this.. A module is worth what it is worth.. Period. (If you don't think it is worth X amount of dollars then don't buy it..) If you DO think it is worth the money then buy it and be happy.. And if you truly are worried about a sales price simply wait for a sale. ED has LOTS of sales and anyone that has been around knows this.. The only customer that might not know this is the guy that just bought his or her first module. The rest of us know that ED has sales often.. Wait for the sale or don't, but why complain about it?
