1. I'm using a combination of ams999 and Toby23 mods to get it how I like it. A little more green in the tint would be nice, but many thanks to the modders for solving the problem. ..
2. I like scratches, but try this. https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3301254/ ..
3. Much better thanks. ..
4. That's a lot better. It enhances the blue sky as shown in the video instead of turning it green, which shows it to be more accurate. ..
5. Yes, you can clearly see the difference in colour. It has more of a light blue/green tint, which has no loss of forward clarity at all.
6. I have no trouble seeing through the sight glass. Your background colours are more saturated than mine. But I still think it could be toned down a little.
7. I'm glad I saw that second pic, as it shows the sight tint to be pretty much the same as mine is in game. Just right. ..
8. Frustrating isn't it. That's why pilots didn't like it. It was too difficult to achieve. If the criteria isn't met exactly, when you cage, the bomb will not hit that point and therefore will not release. If you cage on the correct target hit point and you're pipper is on that point when the bomb trajectory is calculated to arrive on that point, the bomb will come off. I did a lot of runs on targets before it started to come together. Shallow dives are easier. What you don't want to be doing, is pushing forward on the stick during the dive, that is why I say trim fwd before diving and let the stick come to you This eliminates pitch porpoising. Good luck.
9. I don't have the Hornet, but watching a few DCS videos, shows it to have the same distinct, dark 2nd upper glass, as the Harrier. Watching this video, showed there to be, most definitely, a pink tint, but the dark 2nd screen is barely noticeable from the main screen and you can see through it clearly. The front wind screen, is also tinted. ..
10. Thanks. The DCS Harrier has a dark tinted top half. I want it to look like this. ..
11. I need the same thing for the AV 8B. I there one available? ..
12. I bought my pedals in May 2017, so I decided to start there, by introducing a small dead spot to the pedals, calibrate stick and disable Trackir, so there would be no input from them during replay in F2.. I used the Harrier to practice bomb and rocket runs in my 210 ai and static vehicle target range. So far so good. Subsequent replays looked good. Full 4 pod rockets on a convoy, provided a slight kill points discrepancy, but apart from that all was OK. Moved on to try VTOL. Replays were faultless, every crash was recorded perfectly. Looking good so far. ..
13. Same here, (all aircraft I've tried). Pc has to be forced off and restarted. I can only change control inputs from within flight. ..
14. Have you set the bomb drop quantity multiplier? E G. 01 X 0 = 0. 01 X 1 = 1 etc. ..
15. It's difficult to not want to use it, if you like making videos. In 2016/17, I made 80 videos involving replays. Mig 21/15, Hawk, Gazelle, Huey, F-86, L-39 and Spitfire. All worked without replay fault. In mid 2017, Mig and Gazelle went bad and so on. It seems to get progressively worse and un-reliable. More recently, the Harrier is playing up, so I would suggest the system has got a lot worse and is unusable and unlikely to be fixed. I'm going to try disabling the stick while watching replays, in case it's providing an input. ..
16. In my 4th T/O and landing flight since buying the Harrier. Brakes off to 30,000' AGL, was 88secs, passing through at 174 kts TAS, Tacview, so I would say the Harrier looks pretty good against the GR5 times and should allay any fears about it's FM. landing time was 3'.45'', which will easily improve with practice. ..
17. What a fascinating account, of a detailed, time to height record attempt, with the unique Harrier. Just what I'm looking for. ..
18. I've done brakes off to 30,000' in the F-15 in 57 secs.which is in line with official records, so the Harrier time seems feasible, but without any data it's not possible to tell. So find the data, do the test and then see how it compares. Sounds like an interesting project. ..
19. That's the ticket! There are some great RAF skins in there, but the one that caught my eye was No. 69A, (now at AMARG), which was included in the full version of the video I provided, so that one is going to be my ride. ..
20. This thread convinced me to get it, (in the sale). First impressions, in a few minutes of a free flight, is of the stunning quality of the cockpit and airframe. Pity it's not RAF. Maybe a version will be produced? ..
21. OK. I've got my pinkie modifier back. Open profile editor, switch to grid view. Delete the Mode 1 + Pinkie, Mode 2 + Pinkie, Mode 3 + Pinkie. Save the profile with a name and close. Enable the saved profile. Luckily I wrote my A-10C DCS profile on a piece of paper, 7 years ago, so it should be easy to redo. ..
22. @Cacher "what is the best way to learn them?" I bashed the instant missions, one by one, only moving on when I had got the hang of the particular store, before starting the next. It took about 3 weeks, including setting up the Hotas, which I decided would be almost exactly the same as the real one, with no more added and DCS only configuring. But I still can't figure out how to get the pinky working again, or why it stopped in the first place and it's no good without it. GL..
23. There is no reason at all why you can't do decent TO/landings with a twist stick. I did all my initial training using the X-52, until I could do it consistently, which took a lot of practice. The first 3 successful landings, I posted on this forum. When I bought pedals, the big difference was the sheer satisfaction of doing the same thing in a realistic manner. Stick, Trackir, pedals. ..
