I have all the locations of the updaters (2), which hasn't altered since 2023. Removed and installed a new one. but it's still looking for the DCS exe in bin-mt. (My understanding). My DCS exe is in, bin. Can somebody tell me where their DCS-exe is located? ..

FGR2, San Carlos flyby. The Phantom FGR 2, was stationed in the Falklands from 1982 to 1992 and with a bit of imagination, can be used here from Port Stanley and later Mount Pleasant. Stanley had to be lengthened with matting and 5 arrester wires, but it can be used here in DCS, with a standard AA fit of 8 missiles and 2 tanks. There was initially a 100 mile, shoot on sight, exclusion zone, later increased to 150 nm. Main threat was deemed to be a Hercules attack. Later, Argentine recce aircraft Electra and Russian Bears, were the regular intercept. Daily low level excercises were carried out down to less than 100'. Patrols went to 20nm off the Argentine coast. Plenty to do. At 40000' ..

Just to add. T/O from Port Stanley with full AA kit. I use default trim. Full aft stick at 80 kts, then ease it forward a bit, (not very technical I know) and hold it there. Aircraft leaves the ground gently without tail strike. ..

I can't get enough of this map. I just fly around looking at it. It's beautiful. Andes. Glacia O'Higgins. Chile. (Largest glacia in the Southern Hemisphere). Version 2.9.6.57650. ..

Here is my first use of this target on the range, back in 2015. Also used it with F-86 and Mig 21, which has about the same throw distance as the F1. Same technique is also used with the Mirage. .

Also the F4 C/D and the FGR1, FGR2, F3 (F4J UK) had the 30/60 flaps (30 for T/O). The F4E has 30 deg only. ..

It's still usable in its present state and will be my first destination when the Chinook turns up. ..

My AV8B was quarantined yesterday and put back into service using the same method. Following a recent drive change, my DCS repair app has disappeared from the Start menu. Where is it installed and if it's not there, how can I obtain it? Thanks. ..

Curious to know. Manual specifically says, Don't use diff braking on T/O roll. I use NW steering and it works perfectly well, about 6 secs press to 70 kts. Why would you want to use brakes?. ..

For 8 x 400kg use 40 deg for a tightish group, or 30 deg to spread'em in a line. Bombs spend 38 sec in the air. Method only suitable for large areas, e.g. airfields, factory complex, or just a bit of fun. Note: The factory is heavily defended by AAA, hence this delivery method. ..

Avast put a F-15 file into quarantine today. Open Avast, click DSC file and restor/make an exception. F-15 back into service, full working order. ..

I bought this map today and have been flying it since 5AM, exploring. I can't stop looking at it. It's beautiful. It runs smoothly, even with my Harrier down at dirt level, on my 15 YO turnip. Tossing 4 x 1000lb and 1 x 2000lb unguided bombs at an ammunition factory on Chushka Spit, from 5.5 nm. 4g pull up to 40deg release. Bombs will spend 36 secs in the air before impact. Changing the unguided LGB to 4 x 400kg plus 4 x 400kg wing bombs created extra drag, so alter the PUP distance, but 4G and 40 deg must remain the same. ..

I bought the F1 today, simply because it's the nearest thing to a Jaguar out there. Having said that, I'm enjoying it in its own right, flying the Kola Peninsular. (I wish it was a Jaguar though). ..

4 x Harriers at RAF Mildenhall last Sunday. Who would have thought? 4 landed and 4 formation take off. AV-8Bs are from USS Wasp, heading for Baltops. They visited Mildenhall, onroute to Sweden. ..

Sequence of events, installing a new 2 TB, M.2 Evo plus, into a 14 yo PC. (For reference): Remove all modules. Move 220gb from full 256gb Evo to USB SD 256 card. 4.5 hrs. Replace 256 with 2TB card into same PCIe 2.0x4 slot. It didn't register in Disc manager and remained as a 256 card and not usable. Put 2tb card into a slower PCIe 1.0 x1 slot. It registered as a 256gb/1.6tb partitioned card. Moved DCS from SD to M.2 card. 4hrs. Added Update, 20gb with F4, 3 hrs. Re loaded all Modules. Added Samsung Magician. It benched at about half speed of an SSD, at 208/192, but ran DCS with F-4, perfectly OK. Entered Bios and changed PCIe 1.0x1 slot from 1 lane to 4 lanes. BM now at, 831/765. Added Kola map. 14 hrs D/L. Added Normandy map. Put 256 card back into original 2.0 slot which conflicted with new 2 tb card in 1.0 slot and wiped it out. (PANIC). Removed 256 card, but still no 2 tb card showing. Put 2 tb card back into PCIe 2.0x4 slot and it showed up, (PHEW}. BM now at 1579/1453 with DCS at 419gb with all my modules installed. Basicly, the new card has hijacked the old cards identity and placed it in a partition. It works perfectly well, so I think I won't touch it again. ..
