[NEED TRACK]External tanks fuel vanish
Bananabrai replied to Bananabrai's topic in Bugs and Problems
Sorry for not reporting back. I am on the OpenBeta. Just ran into the issue lately again and have a track now. I basically provoked it by not turning on the externals for about 5 mins into flight after take off. Where should I upload it? It is ~ 61 MB Thanks in advance -
One can still hope. At least a RADAR TA mode (and a SEA mode) would be a nice addition.
-
I only know P1E and P2E and they have everything you need for A-A. There is no DMS equivalent, but other than that it is good I think.
-
As with many things: It can be done. Manufacturere developed or even tested it. But the operator chooses the weapons. If I remember correctly, you can drop at least LGB as unguided bombs in "CCIP". Would be a waste of money though.
-
One times shifted. The controls are pretty similar to other birds of the time HOTAS wise, nobody tried to reinvent the wheel here.
-
The ECR is not as interesting as you might think. That means, it's not that much more interesting. I would say it is differently interesting. I don't know what your knowledge about the system is. I was testing sensors on ECR and IDS for 2 years. It's a trade off. The bird trades electronic (+ on the old verion IR) RECCE for the gun. Thats more or less it. There are other things but they have a small to no impact in terms of DCS.
-
The Typhoon has a memory option. Should be included. Startup is super easy anyway.
-
Sorry, I misunderstood you. That of course could work as well. I think the challenge for the vehicle is to know that. But to look at it the other way round, if you are scanning and a convoy is by chance 90° to you, you should not be able to see that.
-
@QuiGonI think you are more of an expert in terms of 'how does it work in DCS'. Well I assume stationary targets would not be detected and you would need to switch to RBGM (Real-Beam-Ground Mapping) / SAR / EXP So notching in that case would be done by simple stopping the vehicle. I cant think of other notching techniques.

More. The GAF did not develop a second version of the Kormoran as realistically they could have only engaged single ships with the available A/C and missiles. The defense systems are pretty effective and a Task Force can defend itself even better. Like most other people said. Yes, but also a little bit no. I also think they should adjust the warhead for now, but the really important step would be to add at least a simple advanced damage model for ships. I think it would be good enough to not have all the sub systems. There are also so many other assets in game that need changes. Penetration of Runways and bunkers for example. For us in a DCS mission, lets face it, the most important thing is to sink ship by ship and weaken the enemy, if we even play such important/interdepended missions. Mostly its even simpler than that.

In that case it would detect low flying planes as well. As GMT uses doppler (at least to my knowledge), there may be a speed gate. It generally detects things that are faster moving than stationary. But to not have air targets on there, objects with a certain speed may get filtered out. So the attack computer sees doppler returns for 1-XXX knots and displays things 1-100kts for example. So a Lambo at full speed might not be displayed. But I have to admit, I can't say anything for sure.

TrueGrit - a natural developer of the DCS F-4F (and DCS Tornado)
Bananabrai replied to Volator's topic in DCS: Eurofighter
As far as I know: The USAF F-4E (late-ish) was able to carry AGM-45 With the USAF, only the F-4G could carry AGM-78 and AGM-88 The IAF F-4E carried at least the AGM-78 (which was presumably pretty close to the USAF F-4E) As much as I would like an F-4S or J or N (the Navy Phantoms look so cool), I would also really want one that carries the AGM-78 Standart ARM Regarding Tornado, for that "was designed for"-reason I would prefer a late (1990-1995) GR.1 (A/B). I have to say, if that is a valid reason to let the F-4 carry Sparrows (because it was designed to)... ... the F-16 (the later development stages) was also designed to be able to carry everything in the US arsenal that fits it. It turned out to be a good step for export reasons. Just mentioning. -

Alright cool! I think I can do that, I always use Notepad++. I think I have a fairly good idea of how the miz files work. I do change parking slots for large aircraft on Nellis (there are still a lot of large spots that can not be used by default...), copy over countries to other factions and so on. -

Hab ich was verpasst? -
The Legit Discussion for PTID on the F-14B and late F-14A
Bananabrai replied to SkyhawkDriver's topic in Heatblur Simulations
We got two F-14s. They are awesome. There is so much more to want for the aircraft we already have. I would love a F-16C Block 40 N/A, as a two seater, and the Hornet we have as D model two seater, a T-38/F-5F for training, and so on... The fact is, we already got more from HB than we would normally get from other developers. Two different F-14 models, which will eventually be 3, even if they seem very similar for many people. I would rather see another aircraft from HB tbh. There is still work to do on the planes like they are now and at some point they will move on to the next plane. -

Hi. is it possible to customize the scenarios a little bit? I have a modern Bluefor setup: I would like to have access to more AI aircraft (example: Tornado) and additional AI Ground Units that are part of modern NATO. Units like Rapier (static), Chaparral, Roland or the SA-8 (still used in Poland) would be cool. For front-line and base defense. I would also like to build the front-line flow. I have a modern Syria scenario running, it started at Rhamad David and the next base to capture was King Hussein AFB. I would like to build a scenario where Incirlik and R. David are Blue, King Hussein (Jordan) and Lebanon are not involved, but all the Syrian Military Bases are. As a general request, it would be cool to be able to select the country of the flights, so F-16s and -15s out of David have Israeli skins, etc. -
Grunsätzlich arbeiten ja bspw. fighter radare in oft in ähnlichen Frequenzbereichen.

Cool. My boys and me also use NTTR quite extensively. It's a very nice map as its is. I am still one of the guys who dream of an extended NTTR++ map.

I totally defend the position of Heatblur here, I will state why. I think a lot of people don't realize, what not only could have happened, but what actually did happen without a lot of people knowing. A great example.: During the 1990s, the then still pretty new ECR Tornados of the GAF did a trial / flight test campaign in the US. Now normally those test are conducted at the bigger airfields, but the tests were on a smaller airfield. The purpose of the test was to try and evaluate a 'combat fitting' (Einsatzsofortbeschaffung) of towed radar decoys to it. They were tested extensively, but they were never used again, no pictures exist. No controls exist in the cockpit, although they could have been used in war time. The same counts for NVGs in the GAF Tornado. Official support was not rolled out by EADS/MBB/Panavia/AIRBUS until ASSTA 3, but was used long before. And another example.: I am working on the BOZ-101EC (FDS=Future Dispenser System). That one will come with ASSTA 4.1. But for the Syrian air campaign it was used a long time before, on ASSTA 1 and ASSTA 3A/B birds etc. Wikipedia is not always right. And POHs are not always right either. I know it, I have the docs here on my desk and they do not fit all times. So please stop yelling for realism and stretching things, because things are streched for real as well. The military is not stupid, real pilots do yell about the need for certain things the way virtual pilots do. By the way, it is quite a bad habit to justify the own need for total "realism" by directing others to learn their radar properly. How would somebody read that who is really struggling learning it? Not everybody can afford the peripherals we have, or has time to invest.+ DCS is a sandbox. Used to stay in a "reality" bubble, use it for whatever you need. Or stop flying the viggen at all in NAV mode, because it can not navigate on any map we have in DCS at the moment.

Heatblur Simulations Livery Challenge
Bananabrai replied to IronMike's topic in Heatblur Simulations
I really hope to see more Viggen skins, it is not as popular as the others. A suggestion: Looking forward to this one maybe... Maybe a little bit less weathered, just so that it is flight worthy...
