  1. Okay, the KC-130 is the culprit here. With the S-3B, I refueled successfully. [emoji106]
  2. Nice to know ED is working it. I cannot play more than 3 minutes before this known issue sends me out of the game today. Changed my password and no joy. I hope the fix comes with tomorrow's patch as I put away flying dcs for now.
  3. It seems 2.5.6 update does not do very well with certain missions The FA-18C Aggressor Campaign is a slomo play. Cannot get fps above 10 in both monitor and vr. Bad sluttering on both display irrespective of lowering the graphic settings. Also in AAR refueling missions downloaded, the tanker is invisible, can only see the marker dot. However in dcs made aar missions, the tanker is physically visible and I can do aar refuel. It appears some missiins needs to be updated to 2.5.6
  4. Really and I have been putting up with it all this time. I will certainly check this. Glad to find this out. Thanks a lot.
  5. No afterburner do not work in vr for me. I occasionally take a sneak at the monitor to see fps. I use fpsvr, excellent app but find it very intrusive. The in-game overlay blocks my view in cockpit most of the times. Wished there was a way to easily toggle the display on and off with a button or key while gaming.
  6. I get fuzzy looking text in the cockpit using 100% supersampling. I have played with 250% in 2.5.5 and dcs was flyable and good. In 2.5.6, I have been doing some incremental supersampling level test and last try was 200%. Surprisely it was stable and no sluttering of any kind. Fps from msi afterburner was above 40ish and somethings above. This is with most graphic eye candy settings like shadows, msaa, SSAA, sslr turned off. Downside is there is a lot of shimmering on outside cockpit/far objects. Care more about how the sharp cockpit looks. Terrain is high Terrain texture is low Water medium
  7. I believe I also reading that thread. Not really mandatory to inform fighter pilot when about to do a turn but it was pointed out that the rate of turn of tanker in the sim maybe too sharp and abrupt compared to in real life. Yes, once you get the hang of formation flying, tanker speed is low in priority approaching the tanker but it felt nice to be armed with the tanker's speed.
  8. I have just been practicing air to air refueling again after a while. I noticed tanker now calls out their air speed for tanking. This is absolutely brilliant and welcomed Has this been there or it is a new addition that came with 2.5.6 update.
  9. The Viper cockpit did receive some good lighting love with the 2.5.6 patch. MFDs colors and contrast looks way better that it was in 2.5.5. And the brightness switch works now. Noticed some oversaturated bluish reflection on the MFD screens when the sun ray hits them. Overall great job from ED. [emoji106] ED
  10. I am sure Ed team is working out a fix. The improvements brought by 2.5.6 is been great for me. A new feature like this is bond to create issues but on the long run, things would get smoothed out. It is good feat achieved by ED and all they need do now is to aggressively look at the bugs being reported and kill them fast. The good thing here is there are options of rolling back but I surely would be riding this one out especially when I have not issue flying patch 2.5.6 in vr.
  11. Same here for me. I was initially worried about flying in vr with the 2.5.6 update considering all the show stopping report using the latest patch in the forum. I reduced my Steam SS and is been good after testing all the modules I have. The Tomcat by the way is the only module that draws a lot from my system resources but still flyable. I do not do MP so have yet to try that but as far as single player goes, I am okay here. The new lighting is great, the Viper MFD lighting has tremendously improved, really enjoying the new Aim 9 boresight feature using the hmcs in the Viper. 2.5.6 does need some optimization work though especially in vr So I gladly take the gains of 2.5.6 over rolling back to 2.5.5.
  12. Check if your dcs video resolution is same as your monitor resolution.
  13. Isn't this realistic? At least I know aircrafts can refuel mid air while the engine is running perhaps not so on the ground. I would think the the guys re-arming could be doing so with lots of risk with engine running. I am not sure if this new development is a bug and an intended change by Ed I remember reading somewhere in the forum debates on whether the refueling/re-arming on the ground was correct when engine is running.
  14. Not a Gtx1650 user so my experience might not be too specific. I have a gtx 1060 which is also doing averagely well with odyssey plus. Get by with dcs texture= high, terrain texture=low, water=high, shadow=off, MSAA=off, SSAA =off, anisotropic =8x DCS Pixel density =1.0 Steam video supersampling =180-200% to sharp and clear text in cockpit with fps between 34-40 depending on scenario. Differences in performance between these card may not be so much but since are getting this upgrade at a steal, okay. You would get some allowances to increase some graphic parameter. This also depend on the VR headset you are using It is lot better to higher end gpu and cpu to enjoy vr in dcs. I hope this help some. Edit :The above is achieved in dcs 2.5.5. Yet to try my systems in 2.5.6.
  15. Yes, this came to my mind too.
  16. +1 Couldn't agree more with you here.
  17. It is an uneasy time dividing my sim time among all the modules I have. The less liked ones get parked in the hangar. So yes, some core engine development. It is great to know more than half of ED staff working on the core engine. I hope fruition of this work would manifest soon enough in the coming months.
  18. I read Belsimtek was an extension of Eagle Dynamics and with the coming of other 3rd party developers, there was no need for her to operate independently and has been absorbed by Eagle Dynamics. Not sure Belsimtek can still operate independently.
  19. It would be better and safer to test whatever new features coming to the Viper, Hornet or any module in 2.5.6 rather than introducing the new features in 2.5.5 only to break something in 2.5.6. This week is looking promising if all internal testing goes right. I hope everything goes right.
  20. What is your setting in nvidia control panel.
  21. You can go to the UI layer section in dcs control settings to do most of what you are looking for.
  22. Oh that! Yeah about time or they are saving the videos nearing early access release of the SC.
  23. Mr Wagner promised a video demonstrating some new features in the Viper this weekend I believe. Hoping this is still planned.
  24. Brilliant idea. Got to agree it take quite a lot of page turning to get what you want on the kneeboard. Wish it can really be done.
  25. Is there an ob update plan for this week? My impression is that ED preparing for dcs world 2.5.6. Perhaps every open beta update planned will be merged with the transition to version 2.5.6.
