First I just want to agree that this is all just good conversation not argument do we agree on that.:thumbup: Okay, so I sense you have a strong passion for Duc's so did I at one stage to be honest, and I only said that to help you from my point of view. If you weren’t happy with your current bike being a Duc. That’s what I understood reading your post, sorry if I misunderstood you there. So in my opinion now, I don’t see it that way because I owned 2 x VFR in my life so far and I fell in love with them they are that awesome in the many years I was riding and training and traveling with clubs. So I have a different opinion and passion especially for VFR’s read post 45 that was my beast specs with other bits and pieces the Performance Bike Shop guy I took it to did for me. On track days guys that had Duc’s couldn’t keep up with bikes that had some work done to them like my bike and neither could they overtake me easily if I knew they were there. So let me explain further, I guess you know anyway but to enjoy the discussion further the VFR is a V4 at 90 degree and pre 2001 were gear driven with DOHC multi-point 16V, now rumble that down the manifold and exhaust into two pipes it sounds deep and throaty like Duc’s now the new models are VTEC and have other game changing feature like TCS and more through the CDU chip so on. The only thing that is missing is a surround view cockpit screen using projector's that one screen don't cut it for me but the actual mechanical 360 motion simulator with roll, pitch, yaw, horizontal and vertical heave and the rest is awesome, I agree! WHY - always matters and counts as info on how the game design runs m8 as it will impact on your system settings and hardware capabilities hindering performances. Building a sim rig is more intense on resources and hardware than general gaming. In past discussions guys running single core + dualcore and now multicore and future who knows. Who had performance issues on their rigs due to CPU and MOBO features and configuration types. Thats why it all hurts when it costs, hence the "WHY" and people were looking for tech info on development hoping for CPU HT to spread the load over to CPU running i3 + i5 and the mighty i7's at higher costs. Again hence the "WHY". Its a huge discussion across video gamers not just a DCS thing ............. watch......... Like I said cichlidfan, time will tell! In 10 years time new systems, new design architecture, standards ....etc The "All subject to change" clause if you wish, its just not the right time now. The sim is still stuck in transition ALPHA + BETA state its a long journey to see changes or how it will work in future. I doubt its DCS Sim because old discussions state only dual-core only in future development. They take the opinion that GPU muti-core is the future I beg to differ and think both should be the case to have a balance between optimizing the hardware for best performance and utilization. Again, I would personally like to have a full explanation from a ED Lead Engineer Programmers point of view as to why, not just running Forum commentary. It should be explained and posted in a "Closed Thread" for referencing to understand the code-base framework and vision. Why because we need to know when we spend $$$$$ on gaming rigs for sims and gaming. But as also stated its not ED's policy to discuss these things which is also somewhat disappointing. So its just another Forum thread / hearsay where we just make all sort's of assumptions and observations. That have no basis of evidence given based on no info on what ED's master source-code is in current state of transition to mature code development or plans for hardware utilization standards. So only the future will tell? There is a guy over at War Thunder he has a whole collection of various types and sizes near his PC. I cant remember his name but has good pics if you like this sorta stuff. I also believe War Thunder have a Tank at their HQ location if I'm correct.
