SLI or Crossfire is also a drain on CPU resources. I disconnected my second card stored it as a spare. Just keep your system clean and healthy from the OS point of view and buy a Samsung or Seagate SSD It will give great performance and read/write access speeds. Or external sound option to release more from CPU/RAM usage. Find performance tweaks from other places if possible sound is usually a big drain if using MOBO chips directly maybe a good sound card?

Well darn PC died but if you could have waited longer I would have suggested, till when DCS 1.5 + 2.5 merge is complete by then new PC stuff on market. In my opinion Intel is always a solid choice and high quality product. Never seen a Intel CPU fail. Well my honest opinion good luck and enjoy what ever path you take! Maybe in the near future...................... Yeah, I hear some in community voice this opinion as well. However I don't agree, a flight simulator incorporates all aspects of aviation regardless. Even though DCS is still an air combat somewhat where to in some regard that has been argued as well, from those who know more about sims. DCS is still not a full mature Air Combat Sim either, its more like in transition hence the ALPHA + BETA state of the sim. Take into consideration the below as an old sim and small developer group working hard to rebuild the code-base............... Its being overhauled from an old code-base to a new C++ version with great added benefits for things like graphical improvements and A.i so on. So its going to take a while heaps of work under the hood so to speak. Also the community overall has posted much on DCS Forum over the years as to what is desired and needed as a flight simulator. E.g.... Full Weather Engine Full ATC Module World MAP Theaters of War with dynamic campaigns Airports, Air Fields, Aerodromes, Expeditionary/makeshift air fields, airbases, International Airports so on. Combined Arms full operational mechanics working in sim Ships and Carrier Strike Group Blue vs Red Forces list of Operational Aircraft Commercial, civil, recreational, sport Aviation busy airways ....etc That is only just the start to what is needed in future development to expand DCS we all know it. What I have asked in several posts is whats ED plans (road map) with the game design and concept in progressive development. What do they want to achieve I have asked this question before like many others. Ducati’s are a great brand and have had good success but what I have said in earlier posts is that you get a stock Jap bike preferably a V4 and fully work it then remap the computer and add mods then you have a solid performance bike again all preference/choice/taste etc. So many guys just get for example a stock Honda VFR800Fi or Yamaha R1 and fully work it to about 180 -210 ish Hp at rear after "Dyno Tuned" and remap completed and great for track days. A stock Duc compared to fully high performance mods can not be compared to stock vs stock. +1 for this post because its a flight simulator regardless of what you are told you need a world to fly in combined with a full working ATC system it would elevate the DCS sim to where it should be and attract the sim community to DCS. If a dedicated team worked on MAPs then a complete World MAP would be created/developed and enjoy flight from country to country flight using realistic IFR+VFR Satelite and even GPS coordinates etc the possibilities we are missing are endless here.
