DCS: F-16CM Block 50 by EDSA Discussion Thread
Sierra99 replied to NineLine's topic in DCS: F-16C Viper
Ya know..It's funny. F-35 supporters are quick to point out when restrictions hurt their aircrafts performance... But when the A-10 and F-35 had a CAS fly off...nobody said a word about the restrictions placed on the A-10s to make the f-35 look better... Just Saying... -
IFF HAFU NCTR explained at wiki.Hoggitworld
Sierra99 replied to GrEaSeLiTeNiN's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
I believe NCTR print operates independent of radar mode. The only requirement is that the Radar be close enough it’s able to “See” the fan blades. -
I see a lot of people talking about how short legged the Aim-7 is...and ED has stated missiles will get an overhaul in the future...but listen to this video... The first shot takes place inside at 13 miles.

How are strike missions carried out?
Sierra99 replied to TheSauvaaage's topic in Military and Aviation
CombatFlite, a planning tool for DCS looks VERY similar to Falcon View, the program I used in the military so the comparison isn't that far off. -
OK gents, Why does this crash? But this: Doesn't. I know it has to do with: But I am at a loss as to why. [TAC-CAUC]_300_V 4.0 Working.miz

I >Think< you can use a patriot search radar for this too.

CRAP CRAP CRAP! I HATE making the same mistake over and OVER again because I cut and paste. Thank you for the help sir.

Syntax Which syntax is correct in this example? RECOVERYTANKER.SetCallsign TexacoStennis:SetCAllsign I cant find either searching Moose Thanks in advance
-
Yeah...I quite successfully achieved a Flat Spin just this morning by pulling to much GEE while nose high and in a bank... Gotta hand it to my RIO...He stuck with me till min safe altitude...before punching..
-
Not really overlooking...it's just a different mission. In the "Real World" the Recovery Tanker would be right about where you have it. Right over "Mother". E2s on the other hand Takeoff and Land on the carrier, but orbit well away from the carrier in the direction of interest / threat to increase warning time. So while the carrier might be steaming East / West because of the winds inside its operating area...the E2s may be orbiting 150 miles to the NORTH looking ANOTHER 150 miles North for bad guys. Now, can this be done in game without scripting? Yes. (In fact they follow Case 1 procedures quite nicely!)...But Moose allows for much quicker customization.

I have a Stennis setup with numerous client and static aircraft. (See Figure 1) If I ADD another Client aircraft...Everything is fine. If I CHANGE an existing client Aircraft say from F-14 to F-18...(See Figure 2) Everything gets stacked in the middle of the deck ...(See Figure 3)

Personally I believe your wife is right. I have always believed the "Trainer First" path in a flight sim was a waste of time for every reason she listed. We do it this way in the real world because A.) we don't get endless lives and B.) we cant be scattering multi-MILLION dollar aircraft across the landscape 2-3 time before we get the hang of getting it off the ground. This is supposed to be enjoyable. You should have to spend 6 months flying one sim just to learn how to fly another Especially since you are already a pilot.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/G-class_frigate Any of you ship kidders / skinners out there want aneasy project? While looking for something completely different I discovered Turkey operates a fleet of 8 former US Navy Oliver Hazard Perry class frigates with some being ported on the Black Sea. While upgraded with new equipment there appears to be very little difference externally.

Any word on when the new Arleigh Burke class will be released? Thanks in advance.

I'm trying to use the Follow command to have a Helicopter follow a Ship. It's not working. When I try select Group to to follow using the drop down it says "NOTHING", even though there are numerous units present.

The Advanced F-15: Ready for the Fight
Sierra99 replied to Erich Alfred Hartmann's topic in Military and Aviation
The F-22 Tooling and dies were destroyed. Even with the blueprints it would cost a fortune to start over. There is nothing wrong with the F-15, F-16, F/A-18E/Fs and A-10s. Yes they are "Old" designed but when these aircraft were designed they weren't designed by politicians looking at a price tag. They were designed by engineers looking for the best performance possible. The second problem is exactly what happened to the F-22. The original plan was to replace ALL of the A,B,C,D eagles and Falcons p with F-22s. Politicians and Politics got involved and we ended up with 180. Why? So money could be funneled to the F-35...now the F-35 is being looked at for cuts and we're not going to get enough of them to replace what they wanted to replace...it's a pretty pathetic cycle. We need an air superiority fighter no matter what politicians and fan bois tell ya. The Current F-15X and F-18E/Fs can fill the gaps until something that can SURPASS them comes along. -
While this statement may be true...it is entirely irrelevant in the context of this conversation. We're not talking about the TVs, WiFi routers, phones and washing machines in our homes we're talking about the operating system that is predominantly used for personal computing. They Break down as follows Windows 94.93% MAC OS 3.47% Linux 0.86% Other 0.74% The predominante operating system relevant to the conversation is windows.

Hey Funkyfranky, Any chance of the E-2C getting its own function in Moose. Using the method above seems to work but it would be nice to be able to specify an orbit point that not connected to the carriers position.

I'm gonna say this... I flew for 22 years in the Air Force and experienced exactly 2 flights with engines that compressor stalled. Once in the KC-135R and once in the Zkc-10A... I pissed my engines off while turning in a bandit and compressor stalled my right engine and I knew IMMEDIATELY... BY THE SOUND what I'd done. Well done guys...little details like that mean a lot.

Yeah...that's what I've been doing...but its time consuming...Meh...I'll survive, Thanks for the reply.
