Way more than a Warthog and a set of good rudder pedals.
-
I am using a SAMs club Dell with an i5-4440 and 16gb of ram and have zero issues running dedicated server. Normal RAM usage is about 5 GB and 13-15% processor. Running all four maps with literally hundreds of statics and numerous scripts.

Is the Warthog visible in DCS?

I'm working on a mechanical 3D printed solution for the Cougar AB detent. If it works...and I'm pretty sure it will...it'll be available on Shapeways. I'm going for a positive transition from Off to Idle, a positive "Stop" at Mil power, then a push through from Mil into AB. I'm waiting on my usb conversion to arrive Monday so I can start testing.

With all due respect...there is no such thing as a fair fight in combat. The idea that the A-10 is "too much" for fighting infantries is a complete fallacy. The US Air Force doesn't need this aircraft for two reasons. 1.) in combat there is no such thing as overkill when the people on the ground want the people trying to kill them dead. The propeller plane that everyone thinks "is appropriate" may not be enough when the shooting starts. We owe it to the mend and women flying CAS mission to provide them an aircraft they don't have wonder will bring theme home. You overwhelm the bad guys with devastating fire power ... NOT a cute little airplane that everyone "thinks" is right for the job. 2.) Today we are in a war in Afghanistan. In Five years...it may be Iran...or Syria or someplace Russia used to control. We don't buy weapon systems based on the war we have today. We buy and train and maintain weapons for the fight we don't know about. The A-10 is the only aircraft designed from the ground up for the mission it performs. Period. Implying an A-29 is an appropriate replacement just because it's cheaper for the fight we have now it illogical. This will be a neat module and I'll get it just because... But quit trying to sell it as a replacement for the A-10 because it's not.

T.Flight Rudder Pedals - foot distance?
Sierra99 replied to fael097's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
In my opinion they are a little close together. Now that being said I use a set and like them. -
Probably the first thing I would check is there is nothing else mapped to the Rudder peddles.

Just flew a mission...9 of 9 mavericks (3 x D, 3 x G and 3 x H) hit their designated targets dead center.

Ya know another thing to consider is why and when the F-16 was developed. It was developed as a lightweight fighter...definitely NOT a "Real" fighter like the F-15 was and the fighter mafia at the time was very very protective of their turf. The podibility it didn't get a built in jammer as a way to separate it from the F-15 is not at all unrealistic. Now that being said...there is only so much space in an airframe...onboard jamming might be nice but it takes up space and weight that can be used for other things if a jammer is not needed.

Updated my server at 8:30 this morning. Was flying in it till noon. Used the GUI the whole time. No issues.

You can pay far less than 150.00 for a completed jet. Just wait until your aircraft of choice is " complete" and buy it. Personally I prefer how ED is currently doing things...give me something to start with... add content a little at a time... Makes it far easier to learn and understand than trying to comprehend an entire module at once.
-
Perhaps it's simply for maintenance. Easier to swap a bad pod for good one than down an entire jet for non functioning ECM gear.
-
"and that will be changed later" Logically if it was going to be fixed with the First release...Wags would have said..."It will be fixed before the release...not "And that will be fixed later"
-
@ 7:35 Wags specifically said " The only change we have coming on this which isn't quite accurate here is that if a contact is only being detected by your radar rather than a HAFU it will have just a standard RWS brick and that will be changed later" No need to wonder or speculate. It is a known issue and will be fixed later.

No...with the IFF master switch in EMERG the IFF R/T replies to an interrogation with the emergency code. (Code 7700) With the switch in NORM, the IFF R/T replies to interrogations with the selected codes.

Exactly where did it say that?
-
You missed my point...If my friend is correct...and the Cougar did indeed have a USB cord coming out of it...perhaps Thrustmaster is already be heading down that road.
-
Sooooooo... Saturday at the Flight Sim Expo here in Orlando Thrustmaster had the new Hornet Stick on Display along with a Cougar to demonstrate the Hornet works on the Cougar base. Now understand I did not see it with my own eyes but my friend told me it looked like the Cougar THROTTLE had a USB cord coming out of it...NOT a DB style connector to attach to the cougar base.

The simple fact is most people don't understand how Lockheed Martin "Blocks" and "upgrades" work. They don't understand the version chosen by ED offers the most flexibility.AS FAR AS WEAPONS, SENSORS ETC. ED could have chosen a "Stock" Block 52 F-16CJ from 1999...and we would lose many weapons and sensors. What they chose is a specific block of aircraft that were standardized with a wide range of capabilities so it didn't matter where the jet was deployed from or who was working on it or who was flying it. They actually did us a favor.

BulkaCv quick question... Is this designed to mount FLAT against a panel or on a stand off like the real jet? I am looking for a solution that mounts flat for simplicity sake. Great work brother!
