  1. There are a couple of reasons for that... A.) Money B.) Mission A.) The JHMCS does everything necessary for the vipers mission. Spending money on "new and shiny" needs to be kept in check...switching to a different system requires aircraft testing And certification. ($$$) aircrew training ($$$) maintenance ($$$) B.) The Scorpion system is unnecessary fluff for the F-16 mission. That's why they weren't adopted.

Has anyone figured out if we’re getting a single ARC-210 or Dual ARC-210 radios?
  3. I tried landing a Huey on deck and went "SkaaDoosh"! I'll check it again though... :pilotfly:
  4. Good Morning Admirial! Nice work on the USS San Antonio! If get a few moments...can ya add looking at the collision model for the flight deck to your list? It doesnt seem to be there. :smilewink: Cant wait for the Sacramento!
  5. Don't confuse capable of being used with unable to be used...several different sources indicate the weapon was tested and deemed appropriate for use on the A-10C following the 2012 testing. Political and budgetary issues played a large role in it's noT being more widely fielded Until 2015.
  6. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Northrop_Grumman_E-8_Joint_STARS#/media/File:E-8_JSTARS_18061F484519-913.jpg That would also work for these...
  7. I have honestly been using more APKWS than anything else...
  8. You gotta remember what these rockets are being used for in real life... Instead of dropping a 500lb JDAM on a building bad guys are shooting from they can shoot a 10lb bomb in the window of the room the bad guys are shooting from. This has many advantages. - Reduces the chance of colateral damage / unwanted casaualties. - Greatly increases the loiter time of CAS Assets. 500lb JDAMs on Station 3 & 9 = 2 targets. Rocket pod on Station 3 & 9 = 14 Targets and less drag and weight on the aircraft.
  9. I have two super carriers floating around in the Black Sea right now... I put them at the west end of the sea and the idea is they are actually operating in the Mediterranean Sea. Definitely presents some challenges...you can't take off with nothing but ordnance...you have to take fewer bombs and more fuel...you can't loiter forever to drop all your bombs either...get in, engage, get out. Can a carrier get into the Black Sea? No of course not...But the do operate in the med which is a short flight away.
  10. As a retired Boom Operator I can say emphatically that I never hit a receiver outside the confines of the receptacle... Yeah ok that's a lie. I refueled F-4s and A-10s. :music_whistling: I can honestly say in more than 22 years of flying I never saw an UN-dimpled nose on an A-10. The slow speeds made the boom handle sluggishly and the A-10 Pilot is usually leaning on the throttle trying to get into position. I'm glad the dents are there...brings back some great memories!
  11. There were TWO TCTOs associated with the ARC-210 radios. TCTO 1A-10C-513 Installation of Integrated ARC-210 on A-10C Aircraft - 1 May 09 and TCTO 1A-10C-526 Installation of Second AN/ARC-210 (ARC-210-2) Radio System on A-10C Aircraft - 31 Dec 10 The question will be what TCTOs have been applied to our A-10C II. If BOTH have been accomplished, we will have 1 Control Head controling TWO ARC-210 Radios.
  12. Uhummm...I was just flying with a friend and I saw no messages about his landings... Were you possibly flying in a server running additional LSO scripting that is providing the information you saw?
  13. They are two seperate aircraft and two seperate modules. If you own the A-10C module and upgrade, you will download and install a complete A-10C II module. Once the A-10C II is released, it will be the only "A-10" available for new players to purchase. The "Legacy" A-10C will cease to exist except for players who already own it.
  14. If what I have in mind works it’ll be less than $10 For the parts not including a Leo Bodnar board to run everything.
  15. Thank you Sokol! That is exactly what I needed to know. I am using the actual pivot / attachment point of the throttle...Not the original sliding mechanism. All the slider will be is movement dampening. I’ll post pics as I go.
  16. GOOD MORNING GENTLEMEN I am working on using a couple of AH3503 Hall Sensors to convert a Suncom F-15 Throttle quardant. I understand "How" they work...But I dont understand "How" they work... "Something" is moved in front of the Hall Sensor to cause a change. That I get...But I'm fuzzy on what that something is. Do I move a piece of metal in front of the sensor to cause a change? Or do I move a magnet in front of the sensor to cause the change? Thanks in advance
  17. You can spend hundreds of dollars and buy another base... Or you can Take it apart and carefully clean it and re-grease it. I use Lucas marine grease.
  18. I quadrupled the value of this old X-Fighter stick by putting in a real F-15 Trim switch and 3 Otto P1-71111 Push buttons. Not exact matches but they work REALLY nice. Paired up with a VirPil stick extension...flying the Huey has NEVER been this much fun!
  19. Look at the post directly above yours...
