USS Oak Hill Coming Soon!!
Sierra99 replied to Admiral189's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
Latest version works like a dream Admiral! Railings went down as soon as I spawned. I assume they stay up if no aircraft spawn? Great work! -

Or until you reboot... -
Here ya go. Note...I have moved the resuce helo rom the Starboard Side to the Port Side in this example due to the following NATOPS note: Per NAVAIR 00-80T-105 Para . 4.6 PLANE GUARD HELICOPTER Paragraph 4.6.4.3 SAR Helicopter Procedures There is the Following Warning "During recovery of aircraft with forward firing ordnance, the plane guard helicopter shall not be positioned on the starboard side from the 360 to the 090 degree relative bearing within 5 nm from the carrier." Using the default values of: -- * @{#RESCUEHELO.SetAltitude}(altitude), where altitude is the altitude the helo flies at in meters. Default is 70 meters. -- * @{#RESCUEHELO.SetOffsetX}(distance), where *distance is the distance in the direction of movement of the carrier. Default is 200 meters. -- * @{#RESCUEHELO.SetOffsetZ}(distance), where *distance is the distance on the PORTside. Default is 100 meters. Violates NAVAIR guidance We SHOULD be using: -- * @{#RESCUEHELO.SetAltitude}(altitude), where altitude is the altitude the helo flies at in meters. Default is 70 meters. -- * @{#RESCUEHELO.SetOffsetX}(distance), where *distance is the distance in the direction of movement of the carrier. Default is 200 meters. -- * @{#RESCUEHELO.SetOffsetZ}(- distance), where *distance is the distance on the PORT side. Default is 100 meters. Rescue Helo Example.miz

The New Files did the trick Admiral! Thanks for the hard work. Any Chance of getting the railings around the flight deck lowered to the down position? -
USS Oak Hill Coming Soon!!

AI has been improved and is being worked on...we have dedicated helicopter spots and the harriers now spawn on the Starboard rear where they should... It's getting there. -

Frst things First...Outstanding Work! Thank you for doing this model any any others you decide to take on. I noticed a couple of things that might need tuning... 1.) She seems to be riding high on the water. 5-6 feet maybe? Not Objectionable but noticeable when compared to photos. 2.) I'm missing textures for the Deck markings...Might just be me. Thanks again for doing this. Looking forward to more! -

Make the comms menu close after each use.
Sierra99 replied to rayrayblues's topic in DCS Core Wish List
You don't have to use a separate switch...simply click the same button you used to bring the menu up and it will go away. It's not a bug. -
SC Landing Area Lights Almost Invisible at Night
Sierra99 replied to Stearmandriver's topic in DCS: Supercarrier
Are either of you using reshape or other post render effects? -
The majority of the aircraft I listed were in service well beyond the 80s...and by your standard the F-15, 16 and 18 should be excluded because they entered service in the 70s Just about all of the aircraft listed received upgrades and enhancements throughout their careers. Until their retirements they were the current generation aircraft.

You lack vision... 80s onward... A-6, A-7, F-4 (Navy Air Force Marines All had different versions with different missions), EA-6B, FB-111, EF-111, F-16A/B early blocks, F-15A/B, F-117A, UH-1N, AH-1W/Z, AH-64A,D, UH-60 (Dozens of versions), CH-46, CH-47, CH-53 (Dozens of versions), C-130s, B-1B, B-52D,G,H... And that's the list I came up with waiting for coffee to brew....I know I missed some.

Check and make sure ya don't have it mapped to a switch you're not aware of...

Real life radio call signs used by the super carriers ?
Sierra99 replied to Badger633's topic in DCS: Supercarrier
https://www.public.navy.mil/airfor/cvn71/Pages/TRADITIONS.aspx RADIO CALL SIGN When TR was commissioned, Captain P.W. Parcells requested that the TR be given "Big Stick" as her radio call sign; however, that call sign belonged to the White House and was not available. He then requested "Rough Riders" instead of "Old Soldier" which had been arbitrarily assigned by the Navy bureaucracy. He was told "Rough Rider" had already been assigned to USS LOS ANGELES (SSN 688). With that in mind, Captain Parcells armed himself with compelling logic and convinced the LOS ANGELES' Commanding Officer to swap call signs. So it is that USS THEODORE ROOSEVELT is known throughout the fleet as "Rough Rider." I'll see if I can find more -
Anybody have any experience with this board? https://tinyurl.com/ybp96ntp Looks Comparable to a Leo Bodnar BU0836X 12-Bit Joystick Board...for about 30.00 less...

Hey Charly_Owl, Quick question for you...on page 104 SHIP TAKEOFF line 4 states "4. Verify that GWT (Gross Weight) of aircraft is below 25250 ft." Can you point me toward the reference for this weight? Is it a procedural limit? Performance limit, operating restriction? Not questioning the weight want to learn why that weight.

I'd recommend going through the checklist and listing In order what switches are used to start, taxi and takeoff. Obviously Some are more important than others...you need the gear handle during critical phases of flight... Then do the same for weapons employment A/A & A/G. The HOTAS provided a lot of functionality as far as combat goes. but you can increase or pare down the switches based on procedures rather than opinion...

Any Chance you can share your parts list so we can compare what we're getting with yours?

What period are you doing? Do you have this list? http://gonavy.jp/CVW1-AB2001.html -
I'm sorry...why are you flying at 10 ~ 20 feet ago with the flaps in auto?

This is a great guide. I have a question for you regarding SA-10 configuration. "The FLAP LID has a max detection range of 86 nm, but this will vary on target RCS. The CLAM SHELL has a limited autonomous scan ability tailored to detect low level targets. An EWR is required to effectively detect medium- to high-altitude targets. If we add an EWR to an SA-10 Group, does it actually change the detection range and operation of the SA-10 in the game?
