  1. Do you have anything other than photos to support this statement? Perhaps a copy of an Operating instruction or Regulation directing their use? Again a photo is a single moment in time. It does not indicate a standard practice or event. Show me an article from the base paper announcing their use (yes something like that is possibly out there). Show me more than one picture to prove it was common place. The point is far from lost on me. I have already said the fact Saudi Arabia and Israel both used them along with the 57th so in my mind there is more than enough justification for including them. What people decide to do with them if they are included is up to them. This is exactly the same as the F-16 3 Mavericks under each wing question. The Air Force decided after testing that 3 Mavs on a TER was a bad idea because firing them in this manner caused damage to the aircraft. Experts in DCS pointed a a few pictures of F-16s configured with 6 mavs and decided this was "proof" it was regularly done. The only USAF unit documented to have REGULARLY used CFTs is the 57th. Until you can fill in the blanks for the other photos they are still unicorns. it wouldn't surprise me if ED adds CFTs. This is a game. But in real life the practice was far from simply a configuration option.
  2. My source is the fact I spent 22 Years, 4 Months and 0 Days as an Inflight Refueling Operator in the USAF from 1986 to 2009. In those 22 years I can tell you for fact I never saw a single F-15C model fitted with Conformal tanks. Not once during the Cold War... Not once during Desert Shield... Not once during Desert Storm... Not once during Southern Watch... Not once during Northern Watch... Not once flying out of Alaska supporting NORAD F-15s... Not once during F-15C fighter drags to and from the Middle East... Not once during a training mission... Not once in 22 years. You are welcome to call that source bunk if you wish. However, my other source is one on one conversations with F-15E maintainers during a fighter drag who stated they generally didn't like removing the CFTs unless they had to or the Jet was going to Boeing for Depot since Boeing didn't want to deal with them. I said before there are reasonable explanations for why photos exist of Kadena, Langley and Elmendorf jets configured with CFTs. I'm inclined to believe they are former 57th birds transferred to other units who didn't bother to take them off until they had to...Or perhaps they were some sort of Test program that was never adopted...you are welcome to believe what you wish. But until you can provide context for the photos in question (Where, When, Why etc) I will maintain that all you have are photos of one off examples of a seldom used fuel tank. Unicorns. Now having said that...I really don't care one way or the other...I'm quite sure the programmers are more capable of making it an option if they want to. In my mind the fact Israel and Saudi Arabia used them really is more than enough justification to include them. But everyone maintaining a few pictures means they were used widely on USAF C models is simply incorrect.
  3. There are a lot of assumptions being made here based on photos... The USAF 57th Fighter-Interceptor Squadron based at NAS Keflavik, Iceland, was the only C-model squadron to use CFTs on a regular basis due to its extended operations over the North Atlantic. While other photos show F-15s equipped with CFTs they lack specific information regarding the circumstances. The first thing that comes to mind is; Where did Keflavik's F-15s go after the 57th closed? If they went to Langley, Kadena and Elmendorf they might have kept the CFTs until their next depot check. (Easier to remove them at depot) No matter what photos seem to show...It was not standard practice...it was not a standard configuration option.
  4. What is the value / part # / Source for the resistors you're using?
  5. So without putting to fine a point on it...You don't have to know the ratios if you are using a Bodnar Board. Fit it for the Potentiometer of your choice and once it's wire and operational you can adjust the curves in DCS until it works to your satisfaction.
  6. Any chance you would share the .step file. I'd like to modify it to use a custom base.
  7. I'll look into a steering dampener options. I think shock struts ar a little large for what I envision. There's not much difference in price between 4 credit struts and a single MC dampener. Fortunately the local hobby shop also sells RC car parts. I am going to go to visit them tomorrow and see if they have some examples I can handle and test. Thanks for the replies. I'll let ya know what comes of this.
  8. Just out of curiosity are there any examples of using RC car shock absorbers to dampen Helo collective movement. I'm thinking about trying to design something but don’t want to reinvent the wheel or spin mine if it does t work.
  9. Good Morning, This is a REALLY well thought out collective. I've had zero issues with the fit, finish or assembly. I built one for a friend who has no interest in changing the heads. So I modified the base to hold a Leo Bodnar BU0836A. If anyone would like the stl for the base and the cover just let me know. New Bitmap Image2.bmp New Bitmap Image.bmp
  10. I think what you are describing could be probably managed using a ships warehouse functions once they are fleshed out... Remove Tank A from the inventory of a ship... Return Tank A to inventory when mission is complete OR if Tank A is destroyed leave its slot un-filled until the ship returns to an appropriate port where M-1A1s are available. Same process for combat troops and assets. Removing Combat Troop / Squad / Unit from Warehouse...Leave positions unfilled until ship returns to port. (Here's another wrinkle...loose enough troops and equipment and you become "Combat ineffective" meaning you are unable to perform another assault until you put into port and replenish... Etc
  11. I've attached a small mission for you to test with. The game locks up every time just by Alt/Tabbing through units to the HH-60. I have been using this MOD with Persian Gulf, Syria, Siani, Caucasus, and Marianas. In each case removing the HH-60 eliminates the crashes when tabbing through assets. And please understand...I am NOT complaining. This is a great mod. I'm just trying to help get it fixed. I also attached the dcs.log file dcs.log-20240819-201737.zip Let me know if you need anything else to troubleshoot / diagnose. Sierra Marianas_HH-60_only.miz
  12. I think we are talking about two different mods...This mod is AI only...The one you linked to is the UH-60L Flyable.
  13. Do ya have a link to the discord page?
  14. The same can be said about Russian claims...Just saying...
  15. I guess my question is what's causing the issue with Mods now? Do the issues have a commonality which is the root of the problem? I don't use many flyable mods. Mainly the A-4E and UH-60L. But I use several AI mods for eye candy and those seem to be causing problems too. and Sorting out which are causing problems and which aren't is challenging when it seems some mods work fine alone but break when mixed with other mods.
  16. Check PM...
  17. Hey Hawkeye...Any chance we could entice you to do a HH-46 Sea Knight?
  18. Will the B8 / F-4 Grip take Stock Otto P-1 switches?
  19. This Picture? I'm pretty sure this is an Iron Dome system... But they could also be David's Sling's...
  20. So a couple of questions... First...Is there any source that indicates how much of each consumable can be carried? Second...What is the delivery rate of various consumables? I.E. I'm pretty sure sure Jet Fuel transfers quicker than Bunker-C...if bunker C is still used... Finally...Has anyone created a setup where the Oilers and Supply ships resupply Carriers and other ships underway using the suppliers function? Seems like it should be pretty straight forward I just have had time to play with it yet. Great work Admiral189! I hope you're feeling better and convalescing nicely. Sierra Sends
  21. To be honest I just follow the examples provided to get the results I want. https://github.com/walder/Skynet-IADS Lots of trial and error...If you have any experience dealing with .lua or scripting you should be fine. How long have you been flying DCS?
  22. Have a look at this...I am working on a script and will share it once I get it ironed out. It actually look fairly straight forward and easy but I just have to have time to do it. https://github.com/walder/Skynet-IADS?tab=readme-ov-file#adding-a-jammer Sierra Sends
  23. Any chance you can work some similar magic for the UH-60? It'd be great if we could add troops to the back even if we cant fly it.
  24. This is one of the nicest looking MODs I've seen in years. It sits on the ground properly...The dimensions all look right...The wing sweep looks amazing! Home Run Brother! I refueled these often during the Gulf War and this one looks great!
  25. A significant number of SAM sites are not useable because the spot that Ground Unit Objects should be placed to simulate the SAM site componants are blocked with Map Objects. Attached is an Example of a Patriot Site and a Iron Dome Site. The Black Boxes in the berms Circled in Red are map objects that should not be there. The space in the berms and on the concreat pad should be clear to allow users to place Ground Units that represent different SAMs. null
