    Train Robbery

Youre not a SciFi fan are you? The SciFi series "Firefly" had an episode titled "The Train Job" that I thought of as soon as I saw the name of thIs mission and low and behold the share similar elements. Ya need to find it and watch it if you can. Great mission!
  3. Looks Great...BUT.... (There's always a but...) Railings dont lower now. The Radars moving really adds to it though. Great Work Sir!
  4. WHOA WHOA WHOA WAIT A MINUTE!!! WHERE'D THE TUGS COME FROM!
  5. Make sure ya set Fire Guards. We dont need another Bonne Homme Richard incident. :music_whistling:
  6. I'm gonna add this and let you guys sort out your feelings. I have a friend whose Brother in Law flew the Hornet. They stopped by his house before moving to another state last week for a visit. My friend took him up and sat him down at his computer to show him the hornet. After a few minutes he said "Well let me try" His only complaint about the Launch sequence...no Weight Board...Everything else looked "Really Cool" (His Words) His First approach to the Roosevelt was a bolter. He adjusted his seat. His second Approach He trapped and received a grade of "OK" 3 Wire. Cold. Hes never flown a n entertainment flight sim in his life. You may infeer from this anecdote what you wish.
  7. The Rescue Helo Script mentioned for this literially requires just 3 things. It is very simple and a good way to learn about scripting. Here is an example mission with a Rescue Helo Rescue Helo 1.miz

    APKWS

ALKWS is a real game changer on the battlefield. Instead of blowing up a building, And damaging a block...it's possible to take out a single room. That's huge!
  9. A.) what stick and throttle are you using? B.) go into controls and settings and see of anything is lighting up unexpectedly when you move the stick. C.) a short track file of the behavior would help.
  10. Sorry. Your original comment was Perhaps this comment is misleading perhaps because of the punctuation you used. Yes the F-16C Block 50 we have is based on a specific variant. That variant is flown by the USANG. Air Combat Command, Pacific Air Forces AND United States Air Forces Europe. It is not a unique varient used specificcly by the USANG as your comment implies. Yes...there is. That was the entire point of the CCIP Program. Standardization. It didn't matter what base an F-16 came from or how it was configured when it left the factory. When they completed the CCIP program they were exactly the same. ALL the Block 40/42s were the same except for the engines. ALL the Block 50 & 52s were the same except for engines. There are a couple of slight differences between the CCIP for the 40/42s &50/52s but the point is there IS a standard. I understand exactly what you are saying...The problem is the answer you are providing while "factually correct" is also misleading.
  11. This comment is incorrect. There is no specific variant of Block 50 Flown by the ANG. A Block 50 modified by CCIP and assigned to Spangdhalem is in fact the same as one assigned to Duluth. http://www.f-16.net/aircraft-database/F-16/airframe-profile/4406/
  12. The F-16 Block 50s assigned to Duluth are exactly the same as F-16 Block 50s assigned to Shaw. That was the point of the CCIP program. Standardization.
  13. And ACC, 20 FW Shaw AFB , South Carolina 55 FS, 77FS, 79FS And PACAF, 35 FW Misawa AFB , Japan 13thFS, 14thFS And USAFE, 52 FW Spangdahlem AFB , Germany 480FS. (Previously the 22ndFS and 23rdFS as well) The Block 50 variant we have is not the most numerous at 365 airframes. However, since Block 50 and 52 differ only in engines Installed and all were upgraded to the same standard under the CCIP program. They are the predominate USAF variant at 702 aircraft The 148 FW Duluth IAP , Minnesota and the 169 FW McEntire ANGB , South Carolina Are the only guard units flying Block 50/52s and only total 22 and 25 aircraft. The other thing to consider is Block 40/43 aircraft were also upgraded during CCIP. there are a few differences but the intention was to bring the newest F-16s up to a common standard of equipment and capabilities. http://www.f-16.net/f-16-news-article1706.html
  14. OK I did some testing this morning. (Track attacked). I was able to engage the autopilot without issues BUT it took some fine tuning to get it to hold level flight. I asked if this is correct on the Tester Forums and received this reply: When I checked MY settings I found I did not have any dead zones for my Stick and Rudders. I added a dead zone of 3 to each and it seemed to work much better. Give that a shot and see if that helps. F-15C_AP_Test.trk
  15. No. Realism should NOT take a backseat. This is a simulator...not a game. If I want to fly fighters with lots of unrealistic Bombs and Missiles and gadgets there are numerous games available out there to meet this requirement. There is a reason I dont fly those games. The other players. If the realism of this game is offputting to some...so be it. In many cases they are the same people who will run into you flying formation you didnt ask for and laugh when they crash...meanwhile they have weasted the time you had to sit down and fly before going to work. No thanks. DCS needs to be kept as realistic as possible.
  16. The Warthog HOTAS is a good stick. Despite the complaints of some, I have had a Warthog going on 10 years with few issues. I open it up about once a year and clean and lube it and it just works. For Rudder Peddals, Thrustmaster TFRP Peddels are in expensive and compact. The good thing about the Warthog is it gives you a good starting point for multiple aircraft.
  17. Latest version works like a dream Admiral! Railings went down as soon as I spawned. I assume they stay up if no aircraft spawn? Great work!
  18. Here ya go. Note...I have moved the resuce helo rom the Starboard Side to the Port Side in this example due to the following NATOPS note: Per NAVAIR 00-80T-105 Para . 4.6 PLANE GUARD HELICOPTER Paragraph 4.6.4.3 SAR Helicopter Procedures There is the Following Warning "During recovery of aircraft with forward firing ordnance, the plane guard helicopter shall not be positioned on the starboard side from the 360 to the 090 degree relative bearing within 5 nm from the carrier." Using the default values of: -- * @{#RESCUEHELO.SetAltitude}(altitude), where altitude is the altitude the helo flies at in meters. Default is 70 meters. -- * @{#RESCUEHELO.SetOffsetX}(distance), where *distance is the distance in the direction of movement of the carrier. Default is 200 meters. -- * @{#RESCUEHELO.SetOffsetZ}(distance), where *distance is the distance on the PORTside. Default is 100 meters. Violates NAVAIR guidance We SHOULD be using: -- * @{#RESCUEHELO.SetAltitude}(altitude), where altitude is the altitude the helo flies at in meters. Default is 70 meters. -- * @{#RESCUEHELO.SetOffsetX}(distance), where *distance is the distance in the direction of movement of the carrier. Default is 200 meters. -- * @{#RESCUEHELO.SetOffsetZ}(- distance), where *distance is the distance on the PORT side. Default is 100 meters. Rescue Helo Example.miz
  19. Check out the Moose Rescue Helo script. https://flightcontrol-master.github.io/MOOSE_DOCS/Documentation/Ops.RescueHelo.html I'll attach a sample mission for ya to play with here in a bit.
  20. I can wait for ya to do your magic sir. Great work.
  21. The New Files did the trick Admiral! Thanks for the hard work. Any Chance of getting the railings around the flight deck lowered to the down position?
  22. AI has been improved and is being worked on...we have dedicated helicopter spots and the harriers now spawn on the Starboard rear where they should... It's getting there.
  23. Frst things First...Outstanding Work! Thank you for doing this model any any others you decide to take on. I noticed a couple of things that might need tuning... 1.) She seems to be riding high on the water. 5-6 feet maybe? Not Objectionable but noticeable when compared to photos. 2.) I'm missing textures for the Deck markings...Might just be me. Thanks again for doing this. Looking forward to more!
