  1. Not everyone learns from experience. :music_whistling:
  2. I recommend spending a few more bucks for a Saitek X52 pro or find one used.
  3. Someone on the ED team should get a pat on the back. In the past if there was an issue with an update we'd have to wait until it was fixed. Simply backing off to the previous version seems like a no brainer but is actually a rarely seen move that shows that whoever is making the decisions is on the ball.
  4. Frequent patches is ED's way of saying "We're still here, didn't forget you, and are working to make things better"
  5. A couple may also say free flight. Also try to stick with servers that show under 150-180 ms ping. You could also start your own server if you just want to fly around. People may not join if it's a basic server but at this point you should get used to handling the plane and get some hours in.
  6. Welcome aboard. So have you successfully started the plane yet? There are plenty of you tube tutorials on pretty much all components of the A-10. It might be a good idea to spend some time there as well. Nothing like going through the first cold start and taking off for the first time.:pilotfly:
  7. Go to options then controls. You'll see assign axis. When you click on the assigned axis the Axis Tune button will be an option.
  8. The secret of air to air is to tune the axis of the joystick with a curvature of about 25. That cuts back on the constant movement you make while trying to connect.
  9. In some pacific battles during WWII, planes were dropping bombs within minutes of taking off. Sometimes within site of the airfield.
  10. It's more something that becomes second nature over time. Right now you're fighting it because it's new. At some point you will not know you're even doing it.
  11. SSD drives have come down in price. If you switch to one for the main drive you won't have to worry about ram drives anymore.
  12. The OP simply wanted to know why he couldn't arm the EAC. It was a procedural issue and was answered. The bickering that followed (which I added to) has made the thread useless to future seekers. :poster_offtopic:The latest round has gotten nasty so I vote to have the thread locked.
  13. Wags hasn't mentioned It in recent updates. It should be happening soon though.
  14. Guess all that matters is the Op got his answer :) As a bonus he got to know how many seats and winglets are in a Brazilian aircraft as well as a half dozen ways to start the A10. All's well
  15. And they all implement the equipment differently.
  16. Does it have a GAU8? If no than it's still not an A-10.
  17. Another thing you can do to speed things up is Start the APU right away followed by the 2 switches under the cdu and the 3 switches below the left MFCD. This will get the electronics and alignment going and take the least time.
  18. What you are doing wrong is hitting the NAV button (CDU) and EGI too early Notice that once you hit them the Alignment count stopped at 2.0.5.6 on the CDU display. The correct method is to leave those buttons alone until the Count stops at 4.0.0.8 and flashes. Then you hit the NAV followed by the EGI and then switch the EAC from off to ARM.
  19. Here's an unedited video of my first start-up last night. Note there's plenty of time to waste. When Looking up I was sipping a beer :smilewink: Time to taxi was 5 minutes. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VUxgzTWMy1g By the way, what's the method to paste the video in the forum?
  20. It only takes about 4-5 minutes to take off including alignment if you don't take your time.
  21. New Engine equals New game. Don't expect it for free when it comes out. They might do it but would be in their rights to charge.
  22. Best is to go through the startup tutorial in game to make sure you aren't missing anything else. Here's a Youtube link
  23. It's good to know the different sources. If you get hit and lose some of the avionics the others come in handy.
  24. You could use the F10 menu to find a closer friendly base. You'll also be able to get the tower frequency
  25. Mines easy. I don't usually land with ordinance. If I have a bomb or 2 left when I return it's usually because I'm damaged. That's what the little red button is for . Even if you aren't damaged, it's not necessary to bring the bombs home. They're free so chuck them.
