As I said in Edit in my original post, I wasn't getting explanation text when hovering the mouse cursor. Now that it's working they make more sense to me. Thank you for your taking the time to post their meanings.

Umm... sorry but look at the OP's handle. Maybe that explains the comment about gunners.

Please make the text that is displayed in game when you hover the mouse cursor over a "clickable" control match the text that is in in the controls mapping. They often are completely different and make it very difficult when first trying to learn a particular module.

Please make a sticky for each module that explains what the most current settings actually do. I ran in to this problem in the F-14 which I have just started on. Everything that I could find was outdated.

I've done my due diligence and searched for this in both Google and the forums but all I can find is outdated. This is not uncommon in many modules as updates happen. I think there should be a sticky with the current selections with explanations of what each checkbox means for each DCS module. Can someone please tell me what each selection means? EDIT: When I posted this, I was not getting the explanation window opening when I hovered over the selection. Still, an expanded text of each selection within a forum topic with pros and cons would be most welcome.

I'm new to the A-10 and would like to be able to delete markpoints as well. Add me to the wishers. (I did find one button set that did erase ALL markpoints... L Ctrl + E )

This is on a Virpil CM3 Throttle but the idea should work on any Mini-stick. Having messed around with sensitivity / curves in both the VPC Config software and DCS controls I just couldn't get a good sweetspot. Then I thought about how much a stick extension on my joystick improved the overall feel and thought, "why not an extension for the Mini-stick as well?" I didn't want to damage the existing stick and tried several contraptions using flat head screws, dowels, etc. attached with electrical tape or double stick tape, all of which were not secure enough. I found this cap on a tube of antiseptic cream and remembered that I had some large heat-shrink tubing and came up with this idea. It works great! I'm able to slew precisely to a target at full zoom but still can move the cursor quickly at wide FOV. Maybe someone can come up with a plastic printable version that either snaps on or screws on over the OD of the button.

Another RL Private Pilot here and I agree with the other comments that it's not possible to trim for unlimited hands off flight. The issue with the 'Hog is the over sensitive roll control. There must be an adjustment somewhere in a lua to tone it down. Anyone know where this might be?

@Flappie Thanks for the info but I had already done as noted above and have only repopulated the following folders: Config, Kneeboard, Liveries, Mission Editor and Missions. I also created an empty Mods folder. I'm enabling mods from OVGME one at a time and so far, none have issues. It worked... no more crashes and I have lost none of my settings. It looks like I had some problematic folders / files in there, for example: Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Bazar\shaders\model\functions which contained the file "glass.hlsl". I have no idea where that came from. Maybe a reminant on one of the "Clear Glass" mods. Anyway, I'm just happy for no more crashing.

Still crashing on exit 90% of time. Crashed once when I had left the game idle while cooking dinner. Returned to find crash notice. Every crash I have to use Task Manager to end process. I considered transferring a load of the game from my other PC but the folder is so large that I don't have available space on any of my external drives. I would much prefer to fix the current install. I tried a fresh install on my other drive on this machine from the DCS site but it started copying everything from my current installation. How can I make a fresh install without deleting my current one? Here's the last logs, Debrief log included. I'm going to post additional logs daily as they occur. Maybe there will be similarities apparent which might lead to the culprit. All mods (as far as I know) are disabled by OVGME. Should I make a backup of the contents of Saved Games on the other drive and then delete the contents of the current Saved Games/DCS Open Beta folder and run the game to re-populate it? dcs.log debrief.log

MiG-21, MiG-19, Harrier and Warthog. Our JG-1 servers and Enigma but mostly on Single Player for troubleshooting and practice. I have DCS installed on another machine that I use mostly for graphics / skinning and it seems to work fine (it was on Version 2.8.7.42853 which I'm now updating to .49629). I'll see if there is an issue after update. If there's no issue, is it possible to move that DCS load to my main machine?

I'm seeing lots of errors on loading numerous textures. Do I need to do a reinstall of the game?

So far the crash seems to be happening every time now. I have re-enabled some mods which are needed for one of our servers. I had no issues in the past. these are the mods: 476 v FG -Air Weapons Range Objects, A First UH-60L Blackhawk, Community A-4E-C, Hercules ver 6.8.2, Splitair Bronco. I have also re-enabled OpenXR Toolkit items which I had running before. Another alarming thing is that PointCtrl is often not recognized until I unplug and re-plug. I'm getting frustrated but will try one thing at a time. I'm not great at reading the log file. Does anything stand out? Should I submit a ticket at this point? Latest log file: dcs.log

In submitting my skins, I often post process the screenshots in order to, IMHO, improve upon the raw screenshot. Here's a few of the recent ones. I'd like to see what others come up with.

Did another repair and search of extra files. Deleted the extra files (almost all of them were kneeboard files. I was experimenting with the old KneeboardBuilder). I kept getting kicked from Enigma's and looked closer to my files. I noticed this in the file structure. https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3319654/ I had changed the "cute" voice to a normal female voice for Nadia in the Hind. I think this may be the culprit. No crashes so far. After deleting "MoeMi-24P Cute Cockpit Annunciator Sound Mod (EN/JP)" which somehow had become it's own folder in the game outside from Saved Games, I had no problem with Enigma's and (knock on wood) no crash on exit. All this may be due to me wanting to hear English rather than Russian. As an aside, ED, please let us modify the .ogg files on Russian voices to change them to our native language on ALL modules without the issue of breaking "pure content". Or, provide us with options.

I had already flown VR and had the crash at end so I loaded up 2D and flew an instant action. This time it was a freeze at shut down. Here's that log. dcs.log

I take it back. Crash on exit for first use of DCS in 2D SP today. 2nd and 3rd runs of DCS in 2D had no crash. Trying VR now. It's seeming to be an intermittent issue... the worst kind to try to solve.

I'm confused as to how to get back to my old settings which were working fine before. I can load DCS with OpenXR toolkit either "Disabled" (where I can't make any changes to OpenXR) or in "Safe" mode but any changes while in that mode don't seem to take affect. How can I start over?

These were all done prior to the last crash event. Same, done prior All mods removed by OVGME. Slow repair done after installing today's patch (which I do every patch as well as delete fxo and metashaders2). I also disabled OpenXR Toolkit. I have both Winwing and Virpil software but all HOTAS mapping is done in-game. No scripts are running as far as I know. Those scripts removed (they were leftover after I uninstalled OpenKneeboard and I was unaware that they were still there). I don't get the crash when in 2D, only in VR. Thanks for the compliment! They will work in either location. I try to put all liveries in Saved Games which, as I've been led to believe, won't be overwritten by a patch or repair.
