  1. It's quite a silly journey we've been on this last month or so. I'm glad you've got the chance to catch up on it after it's happened (or towards the end of it happening) rather than hanging on in anticipation.
  2. Why does it take 2 weeks to put a statement together and post it? Perhaps they want to have something to demonstrate significant progress along with the statement? I'm maybe too close to the irresponsible end of the speculative posting spectrum here.
  3. I love Vietnam era aircraft, my favourite being the F-105D but we'll get what we're given I expect.
  4. Maybe by then I'll be able to put some money down for them :D You're doing great work, really. It was far too long a time where you could only really get Saitek or find some old Simpeds. I'm really happy to see a product of this quality in our small market.
  5. Chris mentioned that a Gripen would be in the medium term future for VEAO along with a Tornado and perhaps a Harrier GR7. Not set in stone or anything but cool nontheless.
  6. Man I wish I could afford those. Any news on the F-16 style ones?
  7. Probably a mixed blessing I feel :D
  8. I trust the team to get it done. But I can understand how some may feel strung along a little bit waiting for a definitive update to assuage what doubts we might have. I'm sure that a small team that speaks some 4 different languages as a preference and occupies lots of timezone is also a problem for communication within the team but I think many of my fellow simulation nuts are beginning to lose patience and I can't really blame them. I hope you can deliver a comprehensive update soon Cobra, carry on your good work.
  9. I think people deserve a bit more credit, despite appearances people *are* capable of holding an opinion which isn't solely developed by reading one thing that someone wrote. I think speculation and a bit of inquisition is what this thread is for and I'm pleased to see that it's civil and reasonable. To that end, I think it's worth talking about and thinking about that Bezcl isn't listed as a 3rd party developer on the forum as of right now. I hope that's a technical issue rather than some reflection of private politics. Either way I'm sure we'll be told soon what's going on, perhaps when Bezcl returns from his (pretty long) business trip
  10. That might just be because the subforum is hidden
  11. I appreciate the little dabs of optimism that you've been sprinkling around the Internet. I hope your work is going well and that everyone is still friends within the team.
  12. Yeah it definitely makes the sim eminently more playable
  13. All these visual effects like smoke, wingtip vortices and stuff all are very dependent on light and atmospheric conditions. I like how it is currently in the absence of a fully realised weather engine that would affect these things.
  14. Come on public statement. Let's have all that silliness resolved asap and push for the 30th of March release.
  15. These and the Slaw Device pedals are quite high up my list of priorities for toys in the future. They just look so good and I can't wait to be fully rid of any Saitek hardware I still have.
  16. Well done! It's a joy to fly when you're comfortable with it.
  17. Razbam did an F-105D for FSX. I would *dearly* love to see that in DCS to a high standard.
  18. For extra fun shut down the engine after you've landed. it flings you over the side at about 40 knots (the answer is "no")
  19. Hi Santa, this year I would like the DCS Hawk for Christmas! Merry Christmas and a happy new year.
  20. I think your best bet might be the MFG Crosswind pedals http://mfg.simundza.com/mfgcrosswind.php They're pretty highly rated. I don't have any to sell you second hand but you'll find them a definite step up from the Saiteks
  21. The latter. I'm hoping that one day we'll see a clickable cockpit for it.
  22. Not to mention interesting terrain.
  23. Paradox

    RAZ F-15E AFM

That's how things work in this business old chap.
  24. Is it possible that we're placing targets farther apart than realistically a platoon of infantry would be from one another in the mission editor? I've never seen a group of infantry standing shoulder to shoulder or within 2 metres or so, they're always spread out because it takes effort to place them so close together.
  25. I'm not a tremendously good P-51 pilot by any stretch but I do advise setting up some quickly reachable key commands (I use the switches on the warthog that I'd never use otherwise) for manual radiator control. It makes a lot of difference for me. There's no substitute for going fast for cooling but dropping out the radiator does wonders for engine cooling, even at 200 - 250 mph. I don't advise being over 61" MP at those speeds though even with an open radiator. My tactical abilities are worse than useless however, this is just my observation. As an aside: I'm very interested to see how other WWII aircraft deal with this sort of thing, I gather that most German aircraft didn't have manual cooling controls.
