  1. I'm happy to tank off the Il-76 like the Indian harriers do I know they're a very different version but both are fine looking machines
  2. Nose/ Tail fusing is already featured for years
  3. The assymetric load characteristics demonstrated by Mad Mike do seem a trifle unrealistic to me as an observer
  4. Yes I accept that the stick deflection on the desktop is much smaller than on the real thing but our sticks are quite different of course Which of your sticks do you find gives you better control?
  5. It's an interesting point, does anyone here know what sort of turn performance a MiG-19p had? It seems to me to straddle the line between dedicated interceptor and fighter
  6. I don't know. Maybe if we compare our setups it might shed some light. I have a warthog with no extension, no curves and a bit of fancy grease in the base to reduce static friction. I give it a small roll input and yeah it rolls fast but when I return to centre it.... stops rolling as you'd expect. It looks just like it does from camera shots in the real thing. As for the inertia issue well. It is an extremely narrow aircraft with small wings and large ailerons I would say that a fast, almost inertia-less feel to the roll is to be expected? The "nodding" I am experiencing but that's an issue to be solved by making correctly coordinated turns. With finesse it flies, in my view, quite realistically. Of course I am not a real MiG-21 pilot, I've never even seen one fly in real life so I may be uninformed but I'm not experiencing the problem.
  7. I find it perfectly controllable I don't know what you guys are doing. With zero curves as well If this is the real roll rate of the aircraft let it stay that way
  8. If I could somehow lend you my access to it for a while I would. I'm not sure really interested until it's all unified into one version of DCS world. Sent from my A0001 using Tapatalk
  9. Does anyone know anything at all about the Su-15? It might be interesting if DCS gets a much better GCI system but I can't find any technical information AT ALL about any variant. The ideal for me would be some form of MiG-29 but again... I don't think anyone (who is allowed to share) really knows enough to simulate one. I would expect all future Soviet aircraft to be older than the MiG-21Bis we already have for those reasons. Sad as it is.
  10. Yes this looks like it's fixed the issues. I made my first MiG-21 landing in almost a year I didn't even bend the gear!
  11. It's funny because on some multiplayer servers that's quite a light loadout!
  12. Oh god! You're so right this will make for excellent CSAR capability
  13. They may not have access to it yet
  14. This is the best thread on the forum
  15. I quite like the idea of tanking off a harrier from an Il-78! :D
  16. Yeah fuel use on the harrier is prodigious in carrier ops, if you took off from a carrier without a ski jump with 12 GBU-12s I think it wouldn't be long before you felt like landing again. A-10 obviously doesn't have that problem although it's still silly to run 12 GBU-12s on it because you make it a big fat lump of a target.
  17. I'm afraid you'll be disappointed, the map doesn't go that far East
  18. People will tend to kick up a fuss about Spitfires, those pointed elliptical wings have, over time become quite important in the UK. It's a bit like the classic two-bladed Huey for the USA, the 4 bladed, twin engine ones might be better but... you just *want* the two bladed whop-whop-whop-whop. It's an essential part of the character for many people.
  19. Is it the same TAD or are there differences from the A-10C one?
  20. I think it's going to be excellent on the existing Tiger vs Fishbed server. Some people (ME!) fly MiG-15s there against F-5s and it's actually surprisingly effective as long as you don't let them see you as a threat :D The 19 will be very fun I think I would of course like to see an F-100 on the other side but I think the MiG-19 won't be too much of an orphan aircraft
  21. I hope so but we got the right one anyway in my opinion!
  22. Like the poster above I believe that's one of the 4 shot S-5 rocket pods but could easily be wrong
  23. And to be entirely fair the way it works in DCS isn't dissimilar: set the radio frequency to one of the radio buttons (ground crew job (mission editor ingame)) then you can talk to the people that tell you where the enemies are Whether that's an airborne AWACS or a Chain Home control room is neither here nor there to me. Though maybe in Normandy having an E-3 flying about is egregiously anachronistic
  24. Yeah and they've sort of done some of this before in the Mirage so the process tends to get more efficient. Progress seems excellent and it's a day1 buy for me
  25. I just had a look. Actually it was quite snowy
