  1. Is there a way to slave the TGP to a waypoint yet can anyone tell me?
  2. Out of curiosity did the F-14b with its F110-GE-400 engines have that same distinctive engine whine, (thinking top gun now). Or was it a completely different sound. I did ask Cobra the question about if the module will mimic that classic Tomcat whine and he said that it will. But of course he may well of been referring to the 'A' model.
  3. There's nothing wrong with the viggen cockpit, there's a certain standard that I know looks good. Looks believable and immerse and the Viggen easily achieves that for me. That being said I really look forward to the mirrors being done (and HB have said that is being worked on). And being a VR user I'm really looking forward to the pilot body being integrated, and I really hope both of these can be released with the F-14, I would be happy to wait a bit longer for that to be a possibility personally.
  4. :megalol: here we go !!!

    LANTIRN!

We were told we wouldn't get it. Certainly not at first anyway, and that they would maybe review the situation at a latter date. So to see this was a massive welcome shock to me. As much as I love the Tomcat as a fighter and so much look forward to dogfights with her, it's so welcome to be able to simulate the role she played in the latter stages of her service life, a role as it turned out she performed excellently. I will spend many hours in this aircraft flying long missions using aerial refuelling to strike targets deep in enemy territory. It's a dream come true. I just wonder if they can manage to pull off the TARPS as well. I will be intrigued to know what it's like to operate and how it's simulated with Jester RIO.
  6. Oh I have no doubts about the quality of the module HB will deliver. Just confused about the 19 Feb bit. However I know Cobra likes his little puzzles for us to solve but doubt he would make it as obvious as this.
  7. :noexpression: ? Confused
  8. You could try loading Oculus Debug tool, remember this needs to be open in the background whilst running DCS world. Select Asynchronous timewarp and set to disable, I also set pixel per display overide to 1.2 to improve jagged edges and disable MSAA in DCS. I find that this sticks my FPS at 30. But it's constant it doesn't drop so it feels pretty smooth, as soon as I set Asynchronous timewarp to auto I find my frames drop to 23. That's what I find on mine anyway. Hope you find something that works.
  9. When I was a kid I just loved the low vis grey cats as that's what they looked like in Top Gun. As I got older though I started to see what everyone used to talk about, that the bright glossy paint schemes of the 70s early 80s were wonderful and it was such a shame they did away with them. But as Atooyi pointed out the big cat could pull off any paint scheme.
  10. Well. Let's just say I definitely agree with you. Jolly Rogers, the Tomcat looked awesome better than anything else to wear those colours. But I did used to think the old F-4s in jolly Rogers colours looked pretty cool as well.
  11. I agree. I think it's just because it was such a beautiful aeroplane. I think the Rafale and the Typhoon were the last combat aircraft that we will see that are beautiful. Everyone has different opinions of course.
  12. He's actually right in what he's saying in respect that the joysticks we purchase don't have the stick length you would find in a real combat aircraft. I purchased the longest extension I could find for my TM warthog and it changed the precision and feel significantly. I rarely add curves in DCS. We're I not using an extension it would be necessary.

Oh my word you guys did it. I'm speechless.
  14. 37. It all started with Chuck Yeagers air combat.:pilotfly:
  15. You can either use JSGME. But if you're not sure of that you can unzip then drag and drop into your main DCs directory. Just look at the way the download has been structured in terms of folders and do the same. And allow the new files to overwrite. Might be worth backing up your effected folders first if your unsure. It's well worth doing.
  16. Is there a possibility we could have the ability to adjust colour settings in DCS in the future with the Oculus CV1, unless anybody already knows of a way to do it?
  17. As far as I knew I thought big smoke is a static object you place on the Map in the ME and is not a trigger which would explain why it works from the start I may be wrong. With scenery destruction that is a outcome you set up in the trigger menu so that would work as a trigger option.
  18. Hoping for a little bit more performance in VR. Fingers crossed.
  19. What we know is that the Mi-24 is going to be really cool. I love that helicopter
  20. If you mean anti-ship role there are Tornado variants that have anti-shipping role
  21. In comparison to the number of aircraft operating in ODS there were many in the RAF that expected Tornado losses to be higher than it actually was due to the high risk nature of the initial raids, they also were not fully aware of the air defences of the Iraqis but knew that they had significant numbers of AAA batteries, they actually expected more air defence fighters as well, this didn't however materialise, mainly due to the F15 fighter sweeps. In the grand scheme of things when you take into account the scale of operations in the initial stages of the war allied losses were incredibly light, by the pure nature of the interdiction mission carrying heavy loads and often flying over airfields the Tornado was vulnerable but what aircraft wouldn't be flying such missions? Loft attacks obviously didn't require the aircraft to overfly the target area but still within close proximity of military installations. What was amazing was that no aircraft were lost carrying the JP233 runway denial weapon.
  22. Sorry cant agree with that at all, please explain in detail how you come to that conclusion?
  23. Having said all that the Straights of Hormuz would provide a really good hypothetical scenario for Tornado combat operations in DCS. As would the new Caucasus.
  24. Yes RAF Tornado was involved in combat operations over the Balkans, but compare that with the Middle East operations, the number of Tornados involved in 91 including Italian Tornados, the involvement of Tornados during the 2nd Gulf war, and then the involvement of Tornado in both Libya and Afghanistan.
  25. I agree that the gulf is not the environment the Tornado was designed for but it was the environment where the Tornado has seen combat.
