request for unrealistic hud projection hud placement
Hive replied to thrustvector's topic in Wishlist
Just to clarify as this thread got a new flag. I do not want/need the HUD projection changed, but the default height of the pilot seat lowered. -
Will the A-10CII get some love on next patch?
Hive replied to icemaker's topic in DCS: A-10C II Tank Killer
Any chance for Right/Left Click Consistency, Data Cartridge or additional symbology for the TGP in the future as requested in the Wishlist forum? I would love to pay for additional functions and further developments! -

Thanks for your advice! I am always willing to learn. CCIP bombing is a challenge in itself. That is why i didn't even mention it in my earlier post. But what about the countdown for CCRP bombing being always outside the viewable portion of the HUD now before dropping down (for example)? What would be the procedure for that other than lowering your head or the seat as the countdown always appears on a fixed spot in the HUD no matter what you do? -

I got a VR Headset yesterday (HP Reverb G2) and same problem as in desktop mode. But the topic has been flagged as "correct as-is". -
Not that I would know of. I understand what you mean, but I think it is not meant to be fine trimmed, because of what I wrote before.
-
I think the plane will never be properly trimmed as it is influenced by so many factors like speed, wind, air pressure, air resistance, weightchange (dropping bombs, burning fuel). It is a process and you have to adjust the trim constantly.

ON - always visible OFF - never visible OCLD - not visible while overlapping with the HUD

Yeah, thank you very much, Taz! Is it possible to reset the saved view in case you want to return to the default settings? I think ED needs to change the default view again or the HUD itself. It makes no sense that the default settings place you in a plane where the seat height is not correctly adjusted to the pilot. And I doubt that a real pilot would have to duck in the cockpit just to be able to see most important elements of the HUD. -

Since the last update (stable player, 2D TrackIR) which altered the standard view in the cockpit I have to lower the seat position, too. Otherwise the gun reticule moves out out view on the upper side of the HUD when performing a gun run and the release countdown for CCRP bombing is out of frame before it starts to drop. It is annoying, but I think it is not as bad as in your Screenshots. -
You do not need to show the DSMS on one of the MFCDs, but the HUD needs to be SOI to change profiles via DMS left/right. AFAIK it has always been this way.
-
I do not need a HMCS that dynamically moves with headmovement - although I can understand why you wish for it. For me it would be sufficient to move the HMCS postition more towards the upper side of the screen. It feels very wrong in center-position, because with defalut view and neutral head postition the cross aims towards the instrument panel while in reality the line of sight would be through the HUD. Furthermore if your seutp is ergonomically correct your eyes are just a little below the top-line of your monitor. So with the HCMS in the center of the screen, your eyes need to look downwards to see it. Weird. It would be great if you could freely change the HMCS position on the screen via static x and y coordinates as a first step, because that should not be too hard. If you can then bind the coordinates to axis in a second step, even better.

Ah, thank you. I will try it with CONFIG set to FIXED LO.

Hi, my HUD shows "INVALID FUZING" when I want to use the Mk-82AIR in slick mode (no ballute deployed) by changing the fuze type in the profile from nose/tail to nose only. I tried it from from a high altitude and did not set a minimum height in the profile. Any ideas what I do wrong? I couldn't find an answer. Thank you very much!

In the real A-10c, there is a delete button on the CDU as stated in another thread. But the simulation is currently missing this function.

What's the best way to control zoom when looking for targets?
Hive replied to Hive's topic in DCS: A-10C II Tank Killer
Thank you very much for your comments! Yeah, everbody is different and needs to find the solution that works best for him. I just installed Zip's Instant Zoom keybind mod and it works like a charm. Instanst max zoom with the press of a button and back to normal upon release (toggle is possible as well). Great for scanning terrain for targets und gun runs at the same time. It is so convenient, because within the blink of an eye you can switch between looking/aiming for the target and checking your instruments/surroundings. Really happy to have found this mod. -
What's the best way to control zoom when looking for targets?
Hive replied to Hive's topic in DCS: A-10C II Tank Killer
Thank you! Using modifiers is a good idea. I will give that a try. Might be even more handy for some other functions. Have a look at this mod. Sounds exactly like what I was looking for. I will test it, too. -
Hey guys! When you scan visually for targets on the ground, it is often necessary to use the zoom function. I tried different methods to control the zoom like the simple keyboard commands (very bad), head movement via TrackIR (not that bad, but feels unnatural and you loose the ability for normal head movements inside the cockpit) and binding it to the slider axis of the TM Warthog HOTAS (bad as i need to take my hand of the throttle to reach for the slider). What I really wished for was a toggle button for max and normal zoom levels, so that you could instantly switch. Unfortunately I cannot find such an option in the controls menu. So do you have any ideas? What is your preferred method of zooming? Thanks in advance!

New Capt Zeen A-10C Warthog v1.0 Helios profile !!!
Hive replied to Capt Zeen's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Wow, great work! I used Helios when I started in DCS eight years ago, but then my setup changed. Now I would like to give it a try again. Will there be an update to the profile for the new A-10c II? -
It is correct as it is. You only get the audio warning for landing gear with the new module which is included in the signal lights test. There is no master caution sound anymore.
-
is the new module overwriting over the old one?!?
Hive replied to doclucio's topic in DCS: A-10C II Tank Killer
The A-10c and A-10c II are handled as two completely separate modules.-

Just use the "INTEN"-rocker on the UFC to adjust the intensity.
-
+1 That would be great if the real pod really has these capabilities. I always hate it when I scan a large area for targets by slewing the TGP and create multiple markpoints only to get confused which targets I already marked and which not, because the TGP does not show the markpoints.

Same here (using TrackIR).
