  1. Hello everyone, I want to share this Mig-15 checklist that I made with all of you. The checklist includes: Flight regime: Pre-flight, Before Start, Engine Start, After Start, Before Takeoff, After Takeoff, Descent, Before Landing, After Landing, Shutdown . Expanded Checklist: Engine Operation, Hydraulic System. Limitations: with Vspeeds included (some of this data is interpolated to save space). Emergency Checklist: Engine Fire, Engine Failure, Air Restart, Forced Landing, Hydraulic/Pneumatic System Failure, Generator Failure, Oxygen/Pressure Failure. The images are set up so that if you print them, you should be able to cut along the two vertical lines on each page and then bind them all together. The 9 pages SHOULD then line up pretty well with each other. If you notice any mistakes, please let me know! - Apache600
  2. Without doing anything special, I've seen them takeoff after taxing 20ft forward from a spawned Hot Spot start at Nalchick airport.
  3. ehhh, I'm over it. It's the perfect amount of time to call for ground power or get start / taxi clearance anyway :)
  4. No problem! Glad you can prevent further hearing loss :) Keep in mind though, that there are a lot of games out there that require a restart in order for certain changes to go in effect. And this has been a requirement for DCS, for changes made in that options menu, since before v1.2xx even.
  5. In settings -> Audio -> World (I turn mine down to 80%, leaving everything else at 100% ... except for music, that goes to 0% because it get's a bit redundant when in Mission Editor :P)

oh dear Jesus! Someone from Razbam has been wiretapping my prayers!!!!!
  7. There seems to be a pretty big problem with the Gali NDB (525) I have attempted to illustrate this with the images below. This problem also goes back to the days of version 1.2 In this first image, you can see that I have NDB 525 tuned in. I am flying over Sukhumi, and headed straight towards Gali (where NDB 525 lives). But as you can see, the NDB is deflected approximately 45 degrees to the left. What might be that direction? Mozdok ... 300 km away. Mozdoks Outer marker is also 525, but i would think that the distance, along with the mountain range, should mask it. In the second image, you can now see that the Gali NDB is overriding the power of the Mozdok Outer marker. This picture was taken the same moment the needle swung to a Zero degree deflection. I had to be within 30km of Gali inorder for this to occur. I hope that this can be addressed soon. Thank you ED team, you seriously do a fantastic job. - Apache600
  8. Hello, I've noticed this a few times. The AN-26 rear ramp door pops open after it's initial climb out (happens at the same moment the engines let out that large puff of black smoke) In this scenario. I have 2 AN-26's taking off. This is an image of the second one. After departure, this AN-26 forms up with the LEAD AN-26 with the "follow" command. There is no ramp door problem with the LEAD AN-26, only the second one. This is also the second livery that is able to be selected with the AN-26, the one with the picture of the dolphin on the side.... if that makes any difference. - Apache600
  9. It happens with the Mig-15 quite often. Unfortunately, it'll even happen with low temperature in clear air too :/ The airspeed indicator stops giving accurate readings, and kinda becomes an altimeter. (i.e. If frozen at 600kmh @ 3,000 meters, the airspeed will increase when you descend, and decrease when you climb) This will happen until your pitot heat can catch up with the amount of icing. It seems to get overpowered quite easily. I've also noticed the airspeed indicator dropping to zero. That would be indicative of just the front port of the pitot tube icing up, but the drainage hole remaining open
  10. There is a pretty good phone app actually. I have an android (so not sure if it's out for Apple, but i would guess it would be), and it's simply called DCS World.
  11. And to think, if the pitot heater can't keep the ice away .... your wings would be done for! Engine inlet ice too. That would be an unwelcome addition to the compressor blades once that stuff started flaking off. That sure would be an interesting effect in the sim if possible.
  12. I have seen this too, i'm going to agree with Imp on this one.
  13. Nicely done. some of the camera angles and shots you had were REALLY good!!! Bravo
  14. I'm hoping for "Hendersen" and "North Las Vegas" airports. Those would do well as landmarks, staging areas, or contested territory inside the city limits.
  15. Good stuff! thanks for sharing! Yeah, i was thinking the same as you mjmorrow. about the canopy fogging. The video stresses how the pilot has to pay attention to all the details ... but we really don't in DCS. Having to adjust the temp or the airvents would be an interesting addition into the cockpit management.
  16. +1 Rep to you good sir! Thank you so much for the help. The Nav Light wasn't the thing i was really looking for. I was using it as a test bed. With the knowledge that you gave me here though, I was able to figure out the other systems that I needed to switch on and off. Thanks again for taking the time to explain it to a non-code reading person. I knew just enough to NEVER figure it out (with the pnt_111) hahaha. As you can tell, i was WAY OFF. - Apache600
  17. Hey guys, This is question regarding the Mig-15, and if the "X: Cockpit Perform Clickable Action" action works. Looking at the manual, and topics online, I can only find information referring to it's use and the A-10C, which would lead me to believe it is ONLY a function for that aircraft. But I am hoping that I could use it for the Mig-15. Tests so far have failed, because I haven't a clue what to put in for the "command" key line in the action options. Example. If i wanted to force the NAV lights on, i figured this would be the triggered action to use. NAV lights, per 'clickablecockpit.lua' is pnt_111. So this is what i've been trying: - X: Cockpit Perform Clickable Action Cockpit Device - 111 Command - NO CLUE (values range from 3001 - 3999) nothing shows in the .lau Value - 1 (guess here, but value range is from 0.0 - 1.0, and i figure 1 is on) Can anyone help me out? It would be much appreciated. Thanks! - Apache600
  18. I may be wrong, but i believe for an on/off switch, a range of .0 to .49 is off, and .5 to 1.0 is on. For the three way switch, you can try .25, .50, .75 ranges experiment for a bit. setup a mission so that there's a triggered message associated with what position the switch is in. Then play with the values.
  19. Thanks for the heads up feefifofum, I've redone some of the scripts too, so if you downloaded an old one, discard it and check the new site. I'll shoot you a PM as well. For anyone else that might be interested, I am still looking for people to complete the remaining lines.
  20. oh dear jesus! This poor thing must have never seen soap and a sponge. Although at this point ... ain't nothing gonna get all that off. In defense of my C-208 Caravan ... you didn't have the helicopter poll up. I thought we were talking fixed wing :)
  21. But only if it gave me 1500ft unimproved runways too, haha!
  22. PM's sent! Thank you gentlemen. I need a bunch more too if anyone else is interested!
  23. Hello, I've noticed that in 1.5, the distance you can spot contrails is greatly reduced. I have a few pictures below to demonstrate this. You can see that in 1.2, contrails are visible from ~70km, while in 1.5, they're visible from only ~50km. That's a pretty big percentage of difference. (you'll have to expand/enlarge the pictures for the 1.2, but you'll see the contrail) This is with graphics at their absolute maximum setting, for every category, in both 1.2 and 1.5 Here is the test bed. 24. Quick shout-out to Milwaukee!! I was born and raised next door in Waukesha. Anyway, I use Serif Drawplus. It's a great program. Was free way back in the day, but now it's $120 or so. Works wonders and I had no problem with buying it, well worth the money in my mind. I think it's very easy to use. There is a little learning curve, as there is to everything. But i'm an idiot ... and i figured it out
  25. Hello everyone, I've been working on a campaign for the Mig-15 for the past 5 months. It's finally nearing completion, and one of the last major hurdles is the voice acting. I'm hoping that some of you in the community may be interested in being a voice in this campaign. This campaign will feature more than 320 different lines of custom voice files. The campaign is titled "The Museum Relic" and as that would suggest, the Mig-15 is pulled out of its museum, restored to an airworthy condition, and flown into combat. It is a story driven campaign, with highly detailed briefings and flight plans. It’s been difficult creating a plausible environment for the Mig-15 to operate in a "modern day" combat setting. But I feel that the story I’ve written has achieved that. The difficulty to the player in this campaign is not too high. The Mig-15 does not see combat with 4th gen fighters, unless the player seeks it out. But it won’t happen as long as they stick to the mission / flight plans. That being said though, it isn't a walk in the park either. There are a good deal of enemies that will give the player a run for their money. Here is the first page of the introduction story: The full introduction story can be viewed here: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=145447 Please P.M. me if you'd like to help me out. Thank you! - Apache600
