  1. Ok I found another document for the three gunsgight versions (ASP-PFD, ASP-PFM, ASP-PFM-B) of east german M/MF series implying auto range in a status called "locked". cover.pdf gunsight.pdf
  4. Very nice, thanks. It will take some weeks but after that my russian skills will be as good as 15 years ago :megalol:
  5. Would you be able to share additional information/manuals with us? The contact mentioned above said that technical details and construction plans were not defined in their maintenance books. These details were treated as secret. All "modern" IFF equipment with malfunctions had to be removed and directly shipped back to the Soviet Union without opnening it and try a repair.
  6. Thank you for this advise. I contacted the webmaster of the regarding site (http://www.mig-21-online.de/) and he confirmed the mistake (he also uses official military documents btw). Regarding the SRZO his statement was, that he will check it with some fellow technicians but according to his written remarks for the maintenance book the NVA 21-M used a SRO "Chrom" and not the SRZO "Chrom-Nickel". The SRZO with a higher frequency count and more resistance to jamming came in later models to the "Jagdfliegergeschwader 8". He don't insists that this was true for all east german squadrons. Thanks for your translation. That was the kind of information I was looking for in a half dozen of threads regarding the ASP.
  7. Let me make something clear, I will ignore any posts which include developer bashing or insults against members of this forum. This includes your last one. Would you have tried to join in a productive discussion like finger ore some1 and bring some facts and publications instead of agitating against Novak this could have been an interesting exchange of views. I don't have an idea how old you are but looking at your join date I would recommend you carefully read the forum rules...
  8. I'm not sure but I don't see more than some technical details. It would be great if this could be brought together in one manual but nothing more. No specific version mentioned, no photos only hand made writings and drawings... Without confirmation by other sources? I could serve you an invincible Eurofighter if you are impressed by such drawings [emoji1] But yes, it would be a lot of fun to see a module, especially the flight model made by people who never experienced the 21 from the cockpit.
  9. Weapon systems yes, equipment, no. I never denied the ability of the ASP-5 to use radar information. I'm not 100% sure if all variants had the same equipments in all air forces. But the 21M and the 21MF used in the east german air force used a RP21 MA which is some kind of radar gunsight. We call it "Funkmessvisier". The RP-22 is a completely different construction site.... I don't say so, but since it is not my native language I would kindly request the exact page of your link stating the coherence between the gunsight and the radar. I will take the time and check this with a native speaker, ok? I mean the first picture by finger the book with the red envelope. Is that really not cyrillic? If so I'm sorry. Last but not least I hit the right model :) Edit: I don't know how good your german is finger, this is a datacard of an east german MF Again, I don't deny the possibility of a radar range function. But before I join your team, convince me! www.mig-21-online.de_mf.pdf
  10. Before this will take a spam character, my russian is not the best but your book says MiG-21MF right? Maybe it will follow but on the pages shown, I can't find a clue about a rangefinding by the RP-22M.
  11. I can understand your point of view but otherwise I have not seen one reliable source stating that the ASP-5 is fed with range data by the RP-22M. It may be, but I have never found evidence on this point. Sure there are possibilities, the ASP-5 worked good in combination with a SRD-5MK radar rangefinder on older versions. But before posting in every LNS subforum that this is unfinished software (show me one module which is completely error free and not WIP), give us the proof :music_whistling:. The promised information from finger is still to be delivered... If you have no written evidence it would be nice to see some statements from real pilots or technicians (not the "a friend of mine" story). If you can't deliver it, i would stay with the LNS Version of the MiG.
  12. Anyone encountered problems with *jpg files or is it just me? Converting them to *.png works fine but all of my former Kneeboard files in jpg Format are no longer working.
  13. He is not stating that your source is wrong. As I understand it, both documents, the polish and the english one are of the same origin. He simply asks for another source document so no need to be upset. @ finger: I hoped you would deliver us some additional documents for the AA-ASP problem as promised. Another "facts" without a reliable source publication won't bring us any further :music_whistling: The grom comments are not relevant since the 21bis is not able to fire it in RL (see the numerous grom threads).
  14. +1 nice diagrams but they won't bring us one step foward as long as you post dozens of pics for different topics. :( Please remember the thread title. You said you have material for the ASP problem which could help LNS. So please stay focused.
  15. Speaking for water details high: As mentioned I hope to see an effect of different wind settings on the water. The rolling of ships is really nice at 16m/s wind but it really kills the immersion when the sea looks flat like a mirror. In this case the disturbed sea (using medium detail) looks more like the reality. I know, it is C--- priority but this is called a wishlist :smartass:
  16. I think even if Jester is a straightfoward GUI you should be able to use simple keybindings with programs like voiceattack. I would say there is no need for a 3rd party developer to spend time for module specific voice recognition :imho:. They have enough construction sites...
  17. I encountered nearly the same situation yesterday. After I changed two key assignments for all modules, I hit save and came to the shiny blue screen. Had to use task manager to close it. This confirmed, DCS asked me if I want to quit so maybe it had not crashed complete. I can't tell if the SU25 was the last module I changed. Had to remap again and saved after every module which worked quite nice.
  18. Have seen these videos some time ago but I would not expect the AIM-54 has such performance. Even Wiki is quite conservative giving an operational range of 100nm. Against a Bear, maybe but according to the Iranian pilots (http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=140083) they assumed a max range of 110km. They attacked fighter size targets around 40-50 km which would be 25-30 nm. I have no clue how powerful the AWG-9 really was but now, 40 years later current fighter radars still struggle with detecting "small" targets at more than 70nm.
  20. Pikey came up with one example. Here is another one from me, a friend of mine use it for FSX and is quite happy. (last item on the page) http://www.assist-it.org.uk/assets/content/disability.htm#alternative_mouse I know it's a lot of money but not much more than you have to pay for a complete Warthog As Warthog user I can't recommend this stick for you, as said before the spring is really strong. A 20 minutes knife fight is something I feel hours later :smilewink:. Here with more options: http://www.inclusive.co.uk/hardware/mouse-alternatives/joysticks
  23. So according to the training Video it seems the Tomcat has to go vertical to beat the smaller more agile fighters. Would be usable against the T-38 and the MiG-21. A F-16 or the MiG-29 and up would be a hard nut to crack...
  24. Played a round CA and discovered this: I damaged an apartment complex with my T-72 . The fire and smoke effects were stunning but when switching back to the zoomed gun view the complex was no longer there...This anomaly only happens in zoom mode, go back to normal and everything looks fine.
