  1. I'm also a proud owner of the Wheel Stand Pro. These guys are great, you tell them what hardware you use and they deliver a fitting version. I use a version for the Saitek Combat rudder pedals and the TM Hotas with a small plate which carries only the stick. The quality is really good and the system weights 12,5 kg (~25 lbs) which ensures a safe stand. I can strongly recommend it
  2. The move to DCS 1.5 Last time I reinstalled DCS from the scratch I had no luck in importing my control settings. Even the search function was not much of a help. Would be nice if we could start a installation migration thread. When ED launches the new 1.5 version in september my intention was to switch the OS from 7 to 10 by a clean install. Last time i saved my "saved games/DCS/config" folder an copied it into the new installation I had no luck in using my old control settings including some problems with updates until I initiated a repair. Would be great if some of you can share your knowledge how to correctly save and export the control settings. EDIT: I have seen that whitehot posted a similar thread some minutes ago so moderators feel free to merge it if you like BUT I would like to see another options then "save profile" for each aircraft and controller if it is possible. For my configuration this would mean to export 6 files for every single aircraft..... some kind of joke, he :music_whistling:
  3. I had no success in finding Win7 Pro versions in Germany for less than 100 € :noexpression:
  4. It's a matter of policy and the region where you live. In the EU it is forbidden to link a OS to a specific hardware. All versions including OEM's will be usable after a hardware change by a phone call to the MS Support.
  5. Yes, 1 month. After that it is burned. I like Win10 so far but I see some issues which could be the reason for future headache. I'ts simply a good feeling to have a Win7 key in reserve...I
  6. Changed one of my systems to Win10, works fine so far but had some driver issues with TrackIR5 and the migration of Outlook 2003 to mail was a horror. Same company but no compliant export formats . Spent 140€ today to get a copy of Win10 Pro for my main system for an upgrade after DCSW 1.5. As some other members I have a bad feeling burning my last Win7 key during a "free" upgrade.
  7. Did you used the update function or a fresh install?
  9. It isn't that bad. I knew what features are in 1.5 from the livestreams but bugfixing was not sexy enough for the most people to ask :) The logbook is driving me mad since nearly two years and one of the testers stated months ago it will be fixed in 2.0. So Sith made my day
  10. One big question is burning under my nails: Will all the bugfixes aimed for 2.0 (logbook, SU-25 laser guided missiles etc.) be part of DCSW 1.5?
  12. Good to see you guys in the official 3rd party arena. I'm looking foward to fly the BO-105 in the future. Good luck for you
  15. Yepp, you are right :) Maybe I will be reading both language versions in the future before posting :music_whistling:
  16. Hey guys, bought this sweet plane already. In the russian forum is a statement by Chizh: "Будет DCS 1.5, переходная версия к 2.0. Рендер будет новый, а земля пока старая - Кавказ" stating that the L-39 will come as DCS 1.5 with a part of the new rendering engine. Could it be X-mas in september?
  17. Just a question, is this a normal payload? A big tank inside the cargo store or something like that?
  18. In 4:17 of the recorded stream the smoke of destroyed vehicles is drifting in another direction as the smoke from nearby smokestacks. Q: Will this be adressed in DCSW 2.0?
  19. WTF! After 4 months this video is blocked due to music copyright issues by the Gema? :furious: Have to find another cool F-14 video to survive the waiting time for the Tomcat.
  20. Nice summary. Would count the Warthog and the 21 to be the most realistic planes, even if snoopy will tell us that the A-10 is only about 80% modelled :megalol:. Thats enough for me btw. I also had access to military knowledge during my carreer and believe me, you don't want all of this modelled. 25% of my time as Link8 operator consisted of troubleshooting connection issues with group members. Much fun to play this out during a combat mission :music_whistling:. And thats for a system that is established for years...
  21. You don't have to believe it if you want but as said the developers won't change performance by the wishes of the community, only by facts. You can find a missile mod in the mod subforum but don't expect wonders. If you follow the thread you will find answers to most of your doubts.
  22. Fine, then were are on the same track. But even with my physics background, I'm far away from understanding events like airflow disturbance on a wing by missiles fired from this wing.
  23. My question was directed at your source of information. It implies that some kind of acceleration (no recoil) is happening when using the HVAR rockets. Thx, I started reading. The video clips still show nothing significant to me. Will continue to read but if you like I have no problems with spoilers telling me that you see no recoil. I never claimed that! From my point of view as a prop pilot and certified biophysicist I would stick with the OP theory.
  24. Sorry, I see nothing from this video. A 70 year old guncam shrinked to 10 seconds of action without external view can't tell the truth. And by the way, the sub attack tips are crap. But my question was directed at Holbeach. I for myself would vote for "negative recoil". -> Nothing against you Yoyo, I'm only beginnig to understand prop and jet aerodynamics in it's details
  25. Thanks guys, that was my main problem with the VR options. If Oculus is able to make me look behind my chair and show me the tail of my future F-14 by LNS instead of breaking lock after 45° like TrackIR I will be a happy customer. Who needs a whole room to track as in Steam VR when flying jets :music_whistling:
