  1. You also will have to lean up and forward to see them move usually from the default position.
  2. If the imagine you posted is what most of us saw there wouldn't be much complaining. Previously I could be following someone and they would just disappear into the terrain even from just several hundred yards. I'm not really sure with 1.5 the spotting has greatly improved in most areas either. The soft shapes make it very hard to identify targets at certain distances that were easier before. I also noticed a glow around targets with clouds as backgrounds that seemed incorrect. I'd just like a system that was reasonable to spot other craft with the sky as a background and not impossible to track engaged targets against the ground at distances of less than 2km.
  3. I'd drop $75 on a Me410 no matter which version they put in the game and wouldn't even care if I got shot down by every Mustang, Spit, or P47. It would be an interesting two player craft with that rear gunner position and you know that he would be busy. Yeah night fighting anything but AI bombers may not be the best idea for DCS.
  4. Good thing winter is coming so my wife can't bitch too much about me sitting in front of the computer for the next 6 months. Really glad to see the cockpit glass thing get worked out and hopefully once 1.5 gets stable we will see the Korean War servers get popular again.
  5. I'd imagine Northrop Grumman had quite of bit of information for the documentary/test that they did with this craft. I'd buy it for sure and would appreciate something like this over the endless releases of training aircraft. Not sure it would work in the WWII online servers but it would be great to try out if it can be modeled correctly or at least close.
  6. Tackle one portion of the manual or aircraft at a time if overwhelmed. Learn things like using the auto hover or how the trim works before moving on.
  7. Got the gauge for MW50 to work once I climbed over 3km for some reason and did it a second time. Radiator controls working so maybe I had a mapping problem. I did have the whole cockpit disappear today when switching views except the target sight.
  8. Seems perfectly reasonable even with the enlarged settings enabled now. If you are actively tracking a plane you will be able to ... even up to a several km. But you will have a very hard time picking up objects against the ground from that distance if you didn't know they were there and it is still pretty easy to lose them. How anyone can say spotting wasn't an issue is beyond me and I really enjoy open missions that require active search. We would give up exact locations with altitude and not find each other ... others would disappear right in front of you.
  9. Yeah I saw that acting up but I think I got the gauge to work by cutting off and on the MW50. Also not sure the manual radiator controls are working ... definitely didn't see any temp changes or movement on the cowling.
  10. Just go back to the non steam version if your having issues and you should have your Huey. It was announced a long time ago that Steam was no longer going to accept serial keys from ED but you can still bring your Steam keys over to the ED version. Sorry you missed the memo.
  11. I figured as much ... I mean they are still adjusting the K-4 and its been out almost a year. This wasn't a cry for blood but just an observation because it climbed like a king and turned on a dime. I haven't got it to stall yet but it is more challenging than the Mustang.
  12. Not talking about takeoffs necessary ... make quick adjustments to the throttle in combat turns or other maneuvers. I changed that takeoff assist to 0 anyway but the Dora seems to have alot more torque in the air than it used too. I haven't flown it much in awhile but I don't remember the sudden jerks left or right depending on throttle usage.
  13. Huey should of been first since it was pretty much finished anyway but maybe it has to be done from the ground up. Can't wait to have co-pilot doing his thing and some buddies in the door guns.
  14. Anyone notice any changes to the torque in the 1.5 beta so far? Its more or less what I expected from the Dora/Mustang should be realistically but coming off or putting on throttle in maneuvers seemed quite different now plus dangerous if too sudden. Just wanted to see if anyone else noticed them.
  15. First impression it is going to be a monster if the AI set to Good is an indication. Not sure if its flight model is similar to the AI flight model of the Mustang in that it fly perfect and never stall or if I'm so out of practice its pathetic.
  16. Open the DCS World Beta Bin File. Double click the Updater exe. It will open DCS World and log on. Click the Module Manager box at the top left and the list will appear. Hit the button and it will go through downloading all your modules into DCS Beta 1.5 without the command prompts.
  17. Didn't you have some issues with your hands or something that made flying sims hard for you? K-4 may not be the module for you because it does require constant attention (rudder/forward stick) to fly straight and level. The Dora may be slightly better for you because it does trim at certain speed/altitudes requiring little attention. The Mustang of course would be the best choice with its trim controls.
  18. To be honest ... don't worry about what others have complained about until you try it yourself. Your talking about dropping 1G on joysticks, rudders, and track ir so price of modules should be a great bargain especially on sale. New craft generally come out over several months so it doesn't hurt that bad. Complaints about the damage model are mostly on the AI end and players too used to the DM in other sims. I watched a documentary on a Kamikaze pilot that was in a 35 minute dogfight in a zero with 3 F4Us. He survived and had 78 bullet holes in his plane so some of the complaints aren't always rational. Yes the Ai DM is different from the player version but they are very easy to shoot. If you don't hit a critical area in a players plane it doesn't matter in the overall scheme but they said they will be looking at improving it. The only people that generally complain about the convergence are the Mustang flyers since the German planes have a different setup. The Mustang is the easiest so far in terms of gunnery with its great sight and I doubt you will have little trouble with practice. Grab all three modules on the next sale because they all offer a different experience. We should have a large collection of WWII aircraft to fly in the next year with DCS 2.0 and it will take time to master each.
  19. Wait for a sale and you can get several modules for this price. You can always get the map later.
  20. Go to the regular DCS page and login in. Select profile at the top right portion of the page and it should be listed with the date under your modules if you purchases from them. 05/10 here!
  21. A10 beta is paying off nicely now!
  22. There was a video floating around not long back where a Army officer did research on the crew loss rate on the Sherman and found it was lower than almost all the other countries. It had easy escape avenues compared to the Russians and British which fought in cramped quarters. Doesn't mean they didn't lose the tank but most of the crew would escape compared to other tanks. He also spoke about how unrealistic the air to ground attack statistics were and they weren't even close to actual loses for the Germans.
  23. You can also get the SC50s if you just want to blow up light vehicles. One of these day's I'll get around to doing a bombing with the Dora tutorial. Enjoy her ... she's a good plane that too many give up on too soon.
  24. Grab the Dora also ... great aircraft.
  25. Changed the curve settings helped alot ... I'll be landing on buildings and able to do most task in a week. Having trouble getting the co-pilots reflex sight to work ... I think it has something to do with the Trackir.
