  1. Here’s my solution... https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=3933015&postcount=1127
  2. Sorry if this is old news, but have you seen these? https://novelair.com/webshop.html#
  3. No. The VR tech. is evolving much faster than your ”explosion”. :megalol: No thanks to you... :pilotfly:
  4. Exploding..? Do you realize how long it took the technology to go from CGA to 4K? Hardly an explosion. Take a look at the VR development the last few years, since the Oculus DK1 until today. None of that happened? Still, my point being that if everybody tried and returned their VR headsets, the VR development would stop. Plain and simple. It’s everybodys personal decision if they want to buy a VR headset or not. Just don’t for a minute think that you are promoting the development of better VR tech. if you’re not contributing... VR technology is evolving. No thanks to those of you who ”vote with your wallet” and staying out of it.
  5. The thing is... If you’re voting with your pocket, by not buying into VR because it’s not as good as you hope it will be in 2-3 years, is a double edged sword... If nobody bought a VR headset, beacause they will get better in a few years, there would be no VR market... Imagine if everybody didn’t buy CGA, VGA or XGA monitors because they weren’t 4K... Where would we be today..? VR is still a startup. In a few years we will have VR headsets that will be superior to what we have today. You can thank all of us who invested in early VR then...
  6. I bought a set of Koss Porta Pro headsets and adjusted them for VR use. Cut the headband sliders to separate the L and R speakers. Bend the steel headband into a clamp. Cover with heatshrink and put some foam on the inside of the speaker body. The Display/USB cable hook on the left side of the halo must be removed and the cable must be secured with a tie, or something. Cut the headphone chords and solder them again to avoid having loose cables. Allow for some slack as you want to be able to move the VR display in and out, and the headphones back and forth a little.
  7. Are you using voice recognition software, like Voice Attack? And do you have a voice command to reset the view?
  8. This sounds a lot like a game crash that used to happen with the Rift CV1. There was a temp. fix where you could remove the 3D hangar background... Anybody remember how? I’ll search a bit to see if I can find it. Must be here somewhere. Would be interesting to see if it fixes your problem... Found it! Rename the SceneVR.lua file, and see if this fixes your crash. Found here: Scripts/demoScenes/SceneVR.lua As I read some of the old threads about this, it had to do with shaders, not audio. Your problem may not be related at all...
  9. Good to know! Gravity helps the pedals towards center as well. It’s a good design!
  10. Damn! Can’t blame my 1-wires on low res, anymore. ;)
  11. Wags, Good info! Any difference in performance between the Rift and Rift S? I use PD 1.5 with the Rift, and I’m thinking that would be similar to the S resolution at PD 1.0, performancewise? But resolution will be better, of course.
  12. Ah, ok. So one type of encoder works, but not the other type? I have no idea why... But if one works, I’d use that. ;)
  13. Here’s a good write up of a button box using MMJoy2 and encoders. https://forums.mudspike.com/t/mudspike-button-box-v01/8251 Also, could you show us how you have attached the encoders to the shift registers.
  14. Nice work! I made my own throttle, a few years ago. It’s a lot of fun, making your own controllers.
  15. An encoder can only be two buttons. Does hardware button 1&2 light up in MMJoy when you twist the encoder? Even if you have attached the encoder correctly, the pulse that the encoder generates may be too fast to register. You have to set up a timer, that increase the signal duration. Use the VKB Button tester, and click the log to see if there is any signals being registered.
  16. I went to oculus and downloaded the setup file. I tried to find a ”look for updates” but couldn’t find it...
  17. Cobra847 said they will revisit the mirrors later. The Viggen had some reflective surfaces instead of mirrors, when released, that were a lot better than the black ones we’ve got today. They looked a lot like the ones we’ve got in the F-14, although the new ones are perhaps a bit more refined. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=226569
  18. I seem to have a continous buzzing or scraping sound, in cockpit. Anybody else noticed?
  19. Nice mod! How is centering with that damper? Are the pedal springs strong enough to bring the pedals to center? I bought a couple of large RC car dampers. The throw is only about 45mm, so I will have to mount them closer to the pivot, where I can find a range of motion of about +/- 20mm. But they will help with centering force.
  20. VR performance has indeed increased as of late. I used to install Kegetys shader mod, to get better performance, but now I get good performance without it. Now, I’m sure ED can and will tweak DCS even further, for VR.
  21. That sounds like the problem I had (have?). FPS were a silky smooth 90, but as soon as I moved my head, the entire picture started to stutter, while FPS stayed at 90. I googled this and found people with similar problems. Some people reported that turning ASW on and off a few times, solved it. Others simply took the HMD off, and put it on again (or took it of and used a finger to activate the proximity sensor) a few times. Others seemed to correlate this with MSI Afterburner or ASUS GPU Tweak, and similar GPU overclockers. Even ASUS Aura could be the culprit. I uninstalled the ASUS software I had installed, and haven’t seen this problem since... Fingers crossed!
  22. The Zuck? I’d say Luckey and Iribe did that...
  23. I have used it. Stopped a few DCS updates ago because of performance increased to get by without the mod. The VR shader mod has partial screen MSAA where the anti aliasing is applied to just a defined center circle and it works really well. It doesn’t do anything to the resolution, which remains the same througout the view. But the basic concept is the same; only present high quality imagery where it can be seen.
