  1. Thank you, @ChrisKermit, I was afraid of that. Well, I'll put a SEM-V there!
  2. Yep, that's exactly what I meant. I have the doubt that it can't be done with two examples of the same module, due to possible hardware conflicts, but, as you said, only VKB can answer the question. Thank you anyway for your help.
  3. Yes, Alpine, that's the concept, but I'm wondering if I can put a STEM on the MFH, instead of a vertical SEM
  4. @fallout9 is it possible to have a STECS with 2 STEMs? E.G. a STECS standard with MFH and a second STEM attached to the latter?
  5. @virgo47 if my memory isn't playing tricks on me, I recall watching a video on Youtube some days ago, where a guy addressed exactly the issue you're talking about, using the left grip internal wheel as a zoom axis in Falcon 4 BMS. I've been looking for that video, but I can't find it anymore, anyway, you should be able to change that behaviour via software. EDIT: found it, it was in Enigma's review. Check the video from this time stamp https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hIRpAG2c2ug&t=715s
  6. Copy that, Fallout, thank you! EDIT: just to be clear, since I made a typo in my previous post, is it the same for a GF MkIII?
  7. Ah, ok, sorry, I thought that F-16 stick was sitting on a Gunighter base. I'll ask VKB directly, thank you very much!
  8. Hey @AlpineGTA, one more question: I have a GF MII, can I connect the STECS to the GF blackbox? Or do I have to use another USB port?
  9. Got it, thank you again, actually_fred!
  10. Thanks for the explanation, @actually_fred. You said there are apps that work entirely offline, could you name some of them, please?
  11. Are you saying that I can just scan the QR code with my phone camera (that "understands" them)? Then what? It'll open a link to click?
  12. Don't get me wrong, I appreciate the free trial and its first edition was a balsam, during lockdown (plus, the Harrier found home in my virtual hangar). I just pointed out that it was good for ED, too. I'd love to keep using it, but the 2FA is a dealbreaker for me.
  13. Thank you, Alpine, I was thinking of buying a STECS max, but after seeing your setup, I'm gonna take the same one. You're right, you can't ever have too many buttons!
  14. Well, Beirut, the free trial has been... sorry, is a good thing, but not only for the customers, even for ED. I bought at least three modules because I was able to try them and I'm gonna add The Channel map (sadly, not the Apache, my system is not good enough to run it in VR... another time!), and if I wasn't able to try them, I'd probably never have bought them, since watching reviews and reading opinions on the forums is never going to be equal to the possibility of testing how that module actually runs on your system and if it get you excited or not. If you think about it, it's nothing really new, there were plenty of demos years, decades ago; heck, Doom was a shareware, you could play, IIRC, the whole first episode for free and if you liked it, you just had to buy the rest of the game. So, putting an added layer to the free trial is a pity for everyone involved, even for ED, which will probably loose some sale because of this. All of this IMHO, of course.
  15. Well, I guess that means no more free trials for me, after the two I started last week.
  16. Ditto. @BIGNEWY can't ED find a way to authenticate our accounts without any external service? Can't you just send us an email with a link to click?
  17. Hey Dburne, I can't find it anymore, but I remember quite well I saw on VKB board they initially indicated the end of September for STECS availability in the EU shop, specifying that a first batch was under way by ship and there was the possibility of an airlift. Since the ones they're selling now are the ones that will get in EU by air, I'm assuming that the ones being brought by ship will be in EU by the end of September, as initially stated, at most the beginning of October. However, this is just my conjecture based on what I read, so I could be wrong.
  18. Sorry man, I was updating my post as I was reading the news on their website, guess you bought before I changed my post. If it can make you feel better, the Standard is already sold out, so I think you did good pressing that button, I'm afraid it'll be back in stock only at the end of September, begining of October.
  19. Thank you very much for all of your answers, Alpine! As for the cap of the analog stick, it should be possible to change it, this guy did it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JBwR_QSLFyw not sure how he did it, though, I can't understand anything in that video!
  20. Good for you, Virgo! I'm afraid this first batch's price is influenced by the air delivery, when they'll start receiving units by sea the prices should lower a bit.
  21. It's in shop! https://flightsimcontrols.com/product-category/controllers/throttles/ € 355 for standard and € 415 for max, VAT included! EDIT: they'll start shipping at the end of the next week, they don't have the units yet, but began selling them: https://flightsimcontrols.com/2023/09/08/stecs-in-eu/ Apparently, prices are higher, due to the air shipping of the first batch.
  22. Hey Alpine, first of all, thank you for your initial impression on the STECS and all the pictures. It looks like it's a very interesting product. Good to know, in the videos I watched it wasn't clear if the rotary was only to change profiles or if it could be used for bindings, too. That has been my main concern with the STECS, I honestly would like to have an analog stick under my index finger, like in the Hornet throttle. I wish that VKB made a button module with a ministick, so that we could put it in the MB1 slot; for the moment, it seems that we'll have to use a 5 way hat in that slot, to simulate the TDC. Have you tried using it, instead of the analog under the thumb? Is it easily reachable with the index finger? Can I ask you how long your index is, from palm to top? I'd like to understand if I can reache the buttons with my smallish hand. How easy to use are those two buttons? I'm assuming you have to lift the hand from the throttle to use them, right? They don't seem very useful to me, in that position. And, talking of not conveniently placed controls, is the rotary on the lower back side of the right MTG easy to reach and use? Lastly, could I ask you want mount are you using for your HOTAS? I need a new setup for mine!
  23. @AlpineGTA I think I can speak for everyone here, as soon as possible, we'd like to hear your impressions on the STECS. Thank you!
  24. AFAIK, it should operate only in X band. As a matter of fact, on a 1977 NATOPS for the A-4E/F it's stated that the A-4 can operate only the X-band, so the mod should be correct this way.
  25. Thank you, fallout, I'll wait!
