Hey Czech, is that a speculation of yours, or has it been stated somewhere by the devs?
-
Don't give up on it, it's just a matter of practice, choose the one version you like, adapt it and make it yours, keep repeating it, always making the same steps, and before you know it, it'll be so natural you'll do it without even thinking.

Thank you!

Thank you SorelRo. I'm afraid it really is out of balance: I tried everything, including, as you will see, not following the route and trying to sneak directly to the enemy column, but it's so close to the reservoir that eventually they come hunting me down. I'll try flying further south, even though I'm afraid I'll end up in SAM land (besides, a couple more jets come from SE if the 21s die...). Please, fix it, if you can!

Yeah, I was impressed, especially by the cockpit, so clean! It looks like the devs decided to skip the dirt and wear textures!

Are you sure you're not talking about Italy? (Just to be clear: I'm Italian and the state of GA in here is very similar to what you're describing... ultralights are the only thing saving us flight enthusiast)

Ok, I give up. How the hell are you supposed to win this mission? Air to air cover is useless, the 4 MiG-21s mop the floors with the Phantom and the other F-5... I tried to sneak away but they always come to me and I have to fight. With ordnance under my wing. Even when I get away from them, I'm low on fuel and have no more flares and I find myself on the wrong end of an Igla. I'm attaching the Tacview track of my last attempt. Any advice is welcome. @SorelRo did you, by any chance, rebalance this mission after the changes in AI BVR and BFM behaviour? Maybe put 4 Phantoms in CAP, instead of only 2? I found at least a couple of different meaning for the acronym F.E.N.C.E. (yeah, it's not a word, it's an acronym). In the end, I memorized this one and I use it all the time, for all aircrafts, of course adapting it to the different models and situations.

Can I shut down a SAM or any rockets with a Gun Pod like GAU-12?

I think you mean shoot down, as hit while in the air and take them down? Theoretically: yes, you can do it. In actuality: it's probably easier to win a lottery!- 1 reply

Yeah, I get it; I haven't seen episode 155 yet (I'm still at 151), but I imagined that it was extremely expensive. On the other hand, that paints a bleak future for the warbirds community: while we grew up in an era where it was (and is) still possible to manage to keep old fighters flying (meaning, for us, WW2/Korea/Vietnam prop planes), in the future we (or our sons) won't be able to enjoy seeing the then old 3rd/4th generation fighters in flight, barring rare occasions in which wealthy organizations will be put them in the air.

Too bad! It's a pity that some of those birds don't end up on the civilian market, as it happened with WWII ones. I guess the costs would be too high for anyone but the richest persons.

Guys, does anyone know what happened to Japanese Phantoms? Were they scrapped or mothballed and put into storage?

Thank you, NotBonk!

First of all: great thread, thanks for starting it, @Czechnology! Secondly, a quick (I hope) off topic. How about this one? https://www.platinumfighters.com/inventory/1959-mcdonnell-f4h-1f-phantom-ii/ It's dubbed "World's Only Privately Owned F-4 Phantom Capable of Flight"... is it just advertising?

Thank you Kalasnkova. Guess other Nations used different, less conspicuous stencils.

Does anybody know what all those black markings on the fuselages are? Writings?

Great song!

You're welcome, Rudel! His tutorials are among the best you can find out there, and probably the only ones for DCS that don't focus on how to fly a module, but teach the basics of A2A and A2G, USAF style. BTW, Mike did make a couple of training missions, available in the User File section of the website: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/filter/user-is--Solly-/apply/ P.S. talking about other nice YouTube channels, another great one is Rifle's one, focused on JTACs and CAS missions: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCQvuofg0IfKZtmn8acDkESw The Air Warfare Group guys have some tutorials on formations and tactics, based on Navy CNATRA manuals, from some time ago, but they're not systematic in their approach and now they seem to be focusing of a different type of content: https://www.youtube.com/@AIRWARFAREGROUP/featured

Not missions to play in DCS, but someone did make a lot of (excellent) tutorials exactly like that: Mike Solyom with his The Ops Center YouTube channel. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCAGylbmVAkEyOibhDVUYrPA

After the last posts, I have to reiterate my statement! @BIGNEWY, @NineLine, could we have more reactions for the posts?
-
Yeah, I know, it was just to spark a discussion about the possibilities.... Like the F-105 that is still the most voted aircraft in IFE poll about the next module after Gina... just imagine if it could be a cooperation with HB with two flavours: the single seat D and the twin seats F or G... Wild Weasel, here I come! Or the M-346, from MSFS to DCS... I'd love that, too!
-
We definitely need more quick reactions tha just "Like" and "Thanks"!
-
Soooooo.... I just found this on HB Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/heatblur/posts/658586646030809 Does that open the way to cooperations in DCS, too? Is there going to be a stream of IFE MSFS module being converted? Are we going to see, say, a DCS F-35 made by IFE & HB? Speculate away!
