I have the vinyls, too, and no shipment (Italy).

Honestly, guys, just take it easy, don't think about it, focus on real life and your jobs/studies and it'll be here before you even notice how much time as passed. In any case... We have the video series, that started on February 16th: for comparison, the first F-14 featurette video was released Decembre 24th 2018 and the module was out March 13th, 2019, approximately 3 months later. So, the Phantom could get out in late spring, but I do believe that this time around HB is going to be faster than with the Tomcat (they're more experienced and have new software tools to use); while I'm not ruling out March, yet, I think we'll fly Spooks in April. EDIT: By the way, there's another thing to consider, that make me optimist about the release date. The F-14 manual was online February 10th, 2019, about a month before release. So, the Phantom could really be just a very few weeks from release (F-4 manual was released January 26th, 2024).

Hey @6S.Duke! I was binding the buttons of my new throttle system and I ran into a bug with the engine starter binding: apparently there are "different action with identical descriptions". I'm attaching a screenshot. You can't bind a physical button to the first entry, and if you bind it to the second, it doesn't work. Hoping that ED will make a hotfix to last patch, could you please fix this bus ASAP? Thank you!

Copy that, thank you! I'll keep my head up!

Juliane's, did they notify you that the pack was shipping, or it just came unannounced?
-
Sorry Aviators, besides telling you what I already said in the post above, I can't help you with your question, my previous throttle was a TM TWCS.

I switched them with the ones you found in the package. The landing gear one had a three position detent and I put in the two position detent, since the landing gear in basically all DCS modules is just a two position lever. I thought about removing them and making axes out of the levers, but then I decided it was better to have both work as buttons.

Thank you Alpine, I hope you won't have to wait much. Meanwhile, I set up the SEM-V with the STECS. As help for others who will do what I did (buying a new module after having the setup the STECS), I'm leaving here a quick description of my experience. Since I modified the flaps and landing gear lever (changing the internal detent), I had to go through the setup procedure described in the video I linked above, and I ended up having to reset the whole system (STECS standard + SEM-V); I'm not sure if it was because it was the only way, or only because I couldn't find a better way, but after setting up the SEM-V via physical buttons, to set it up in the VKB software, I had to reset the STECS + SEM-V system to default and then set the whole system up again. It was a bit of a pain having to do it all over again, but thankfully the procedure is pretty straightforward after you did it the first time, so it only took time. I hope this can help others, if they're gonna be in need. EDIT: I forgot to say, using the STECS Standard with a frontal SEM-V is a blast, especially in VR, now I have basically all the relevant controls at my fingertip, it's really great and VKB products are great pieces of machinery, I love how precise, customizable they are, and how you can mantain them in time (even though you have to learn how, if you're a total noob with hardware like I am!)

Thank you for your help, @AlpineGTA! Interesting ideas, let us know how they work for you.

Hey @AlpineGTA, I got my SEM-V and MFH today, I want a set up like the one you showed us in page 1. Did you have to configure the SEM-V as shown in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lZQXwQl_IHA or, beside changing the detents on the flap and gear levers, you just have to plug the module to the STECS and everything will be auto configured?

IT'S STARTING!!! EDIT: pensavo che fosse il primo video di preview del modulo, prima del rilascio, invece sono solo speculazioni sulle novità che vengono introdotte, dopo la pubblicazione del manuale.

What Gunfreak said, with one caveat: Jester is NOT a pilot, just a WSO. At least if he's implemented like in the F-14. EDIT: and, of course, assuming HB is not going to simulate the fact that initially USAF wanted pilots as WSOs.

Thank you very much, Kirk, those documents are real gold for us enthusiasts!

Eh, sembrerebbe... Quanto tempo prima del rilascio venne pubblicato il manuale dell'F-14? O venne pubblicato solo al rilascio?

Hey @AlpineGTA, thank you for your input and the pictures, I think you did something similar to what Jabbers did on his video review . I deleted the second detent CRV and I'm fine tuning the first one's to achieve the same result. I just hope it'll work for all the modules, because if I have to tune the axis for every single airplane every time I want to switch from one to another, it's going to be a real PITA. I'm wondering, anyway, why my solution didn't work as I intended... maybe someone from VKB can answer this? @fallout9?

Hey there! I already posted this on VKB technical support forum, but maybe there's someone here who can help. I just received my STECS and I'm trying to set up a detent for the Hornet. I took the green frame (set 4), added a tall L detent at around 15 % for the OFF/IDLE position and a low L detent at around 85 % for the afterburner position. I set up the first detent with a CRV at 0, so that the throttles in game is in idle as soon as the physical throttles are past the detent and the 1>.<2 event, with pulsed inputs. Everything works fine and as intended. Troubles come when I try to set up the afterburner detent. I want the throttles in game to reach full MIL when the physical throttles (let's call them the grips) get to the detent, so I set up the second CRV to 100. Once past the detent, the direct input should always be at 100, but it's not. In fact, if I move the grips to the detent slowly, they get to 100 when they hit the detent, but immediately after, as the grips moves on the detent, DI drops at 70,3/70,4 and stay there till the grips get past the detent. I'm attaching some pictures, I hope they'll help understand. What's the problem, here? How can I have DI stay at a steady 100 when the grips hit the detent?

Well, my STECS standard in on the way, I can't wait to try it! Unfortunately, the SEM-V module was out of stock, so I'll have to wait before having the same setup Alpine has.
-
AFAIK, that means that you received the digital activation code to use with DCS when the F-4 will be released to download the module, while the physical goods you bought (T-shirt, vynils) will be delivered to you in February. It doesn't mean that the aircraft is already available.

Between today and March 20th, 2024.

Copy that, thank you both!

Hey guys! Noob question about the German 29s: if I understand correctly, they're 9.12 models, just like the one we're getting, right? So, we could use the Luftwaffe manual to start studying the aircraft? Are there any differences? If so, what are they?

I don't agree, firstly, because Europe is considered to extend to the Ural and the Caucasus area (Georgia is part of Europe), secondly, because the concept of "recent" is a relative one, it all depends on what temporal scale you want to consider (or, in this case, what temporal scale Duke had in mind); Allied Force, for example, is already almost 25, some might say it's old. And why shouldn't we consider the previous Yugoslavian wars, which are just about 5 years older? I'd say at least the last 30/35 years, and considering the eastern part of Europe, too.

You could be right Teo. After all, Duke's post says «We are going to consider your preferences for our future projects, taking into account also the access to the real aircraft and documentation. For the moment, we want you to know that we got a license for a new exciting project ...» Emphases are mine. Considering the wording, the new project may have nothing to do with that list. That opens a lot more possibilities, but it also makes more difficult the guess work!
