  1. This is the problem of trying to shoe horn DCS into a specific era. The mission maker needs to tailor it on a realistic level. For example if A10s and F5s were to be carrying AIM-9M and P5 circa 1983 then historically there should be F15s and MiG29s flying around. I think if you're going to make an era that defines the F5 and 21 as the a2a premier aircraft then you have to set it up to give the advantage that the aircraft in this role would have eg.reduce the strikers a2a payload access.
  2. I'm less than 0.01% sure it is implemented.:D
  3. Yep that is how its always been, back in the early FC days you could take out over 40 units in one sortie with an A10A, you were lucky to get into double figures with the vanilla Su25. I haven't flown the A since the FM update but if you're saying the C is even better it probably is best left out. :) Would like to see the Viggen shoe horned in though.
  4. Yes, though Ka50 without vikhrs would be a bad choice, dropping bombs from 12 000ft ain't its thing. A10C Blue, Viggen Red.
  5. What is the time period? R60M, AIM9M 1982, AIM9P5 even later. Regardless though it is a great setup.
  6. Not to mention the 27 has much more countermeasures which are like gold dust in BF. The 33 has two extra R27Rs you have to drop/waste when you get to the merge, its just like a podgy younger brother.
  7. 'ish is short for 'Is Subject to cHange'
  8. LF thanks for that awesome response, I made this thread hoping for your input, I understand we are borderline stall but not there with the speed but what about the inclusion of such high AoA, shouldn't there be wing rock at least. I get the feeling the FM hits a limit with full thrust and rudder which makes this maneuver so easy to go through.
  9. I'll have to dig around and see if I still have the track, I should imagine at least half a tank with 4 MRM and 2 aim9. I do remember that it was full rudder with burner all the way.
  10. What has this thread got to do with the Flanker, if you ignore the Flanker your post amounts to the F15 pulled up and over the top. Good observation. Now pay attention to the details, the F15 starts its climb at 150 knots at 34 AoA and continues this posture to complete a controlled loop. Try doing that in any other aircraft. The issue is how did the F15 get from level flight 34AoA 150knots on to do a complete 360 not why did the Flanker lose.
  11. I know this topic has had recent attention but something doesn't add up for me. USAF F-15 instructors dictate 230 knots and 30 units AoA at 5000' AGL. Does this mean a fully loaded F-15 can be at 120 knots, 70 degrees nose up at 36+ AoA and go on to perform a perfectly controlled loop without stalling. I am confused because for me this doesn't add up. I'd just like to understand how this is possible.

  13. Other than the mission options deselect F5 in the server game options and save the mission, also I think whenever a mission is saved on a system that has F5 enabled in game options it will save it to the mission.
  14. The thing with BMS is you more often than not face AI which are predictable and don't try to outwit you or hide from your emissions. Though I do like the AI in BMS. The best way would be to show your problem with a track or better still review your track and workout how this happened. It's all good knowing PRF, TWS and RWS etc. but the critical one is elevation, beam angle and understanding refresh rate.
  15. As long as AWACS is up to let you know where to scan because from what you describe your own self situational awarness and radar utilisation ain't up to much. FC radar works fine for detection as long as the correct parameters are met, the operator is using the radar correctly and he accounts for refresh rate.
  16. Yeah I agree it is real, DH.
  17. My first thought also. It's EDs Flanker, the paint is off, the nose paint is DCS, the pilot is clearly DCS, the whole clarity of the plane just shouts DCS, even the heat blur, also the terrain just look at the river banks. EDIT: on second opinion it doesn't look like the DCS Flanker.
  18. Apparently MiG-29 export models starting in 1988 had the datalink removed. Produced between 1988 and 1991 for Bulgaria, Czechoslovakia, East Germany, Poland and Romania. Most modified to virtual 9.12B configuration (with removal of datalink and IFF) on break-up of USSR and Warsaw Pact. http://toad-design.com/migalley/index.php/jet-aircraft/mig29/mig29-variants/ I should stress that I’m talking about our Luftwaffe MiG-29s, which are early aircraft. They also removed the Laszlo data link and the SRO IFF before the aircraft were handed over to us, so in some respects we’re less capable than other contemporary MiG-29s https://www.16va.be/mig-29_experience.htm Edit Sniped, i've seen images of the MiG21 lazur system which is just a series of cue lights, a similar system/idea is used through cues to the MiGs HUD.
  19. A preplanned fixed site position will be a steerpoint so approx. range should be known. Otherwise threat evaluation with the RWR should give a good indicator of within range, the AGM88 has some good legs.
  20. Once lined up with HSI line up visually with the runway, flaps down, landing speed 260+, less than 320 depending on weight. No more than 5m/s sink rate. You can keep your airbrake out to allow more speed control, slower acceleration. Just practice coming in at 280-300 at 5 m/s decent to get a feel for the aircraft, providing you're not too heavy you can play around in that region with plenty of freedom. You can reduce sink rate just before touchdown by flaring, gently pulling the nose up at the last.
  21. The airbase EWRs are not assigned an EWR role in unit options.
  22. I'm sure it's safe to bail out just don't switch slots until the kill message has come up or your aircraft has crashed.
  23. The AI needs all the help it can get. These sages could probably teach you a lot more than you realise but for now maybe just keep practicing to kill the AI at the 2nd pass instead of taking 3 bites at it. Then you could just try controlling and prolonging the fight instead of trying to kill him as fast as possible, that way you'll learn and control the aircrafts limitations rather than kid yourself into thinking its not working like a real F-15. The AI is like a poor training partner, he wants you to kill him and doesn't want to kill you but if make really stupid mistakes he'll punish you.
