  1. I think that has something to do with the CAP getting switched off by the EWR getting destroyed.
  2. Mirage auto search possibly being the worst culprit. DCS level, DCS FC level they are all have the same foundations.
  3. This is not balancing F-15 and Su27, this in fact puts the Su27 in a worse position imo. It would seem you really don't understand how effective the 9M is in this set up. The idea of this set up is to allow Mirage, MiG21, strikers and helos a chance to operate more effectively in this scenario, you need to stop thinking of yourself and think of how changes affect everybody.
  4. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=122801
  5. I think it is down to the elevation limits of the sensor, with it being stabilised on the horizon its max negative elevation will always remain at -2 even though as you say there is scope to look. I think of it like the MiG21 radar, it is limited in the look down for a reason.
  6. I think the 9P is an export version of the 9J and yes every number after is an improved version, P and P5 are only in DCS. I think the P5 is at a similar generation to the AIM-9L though much later introduction than the L. Rear aspect does as it says on the tin though you can cue head on at very close range, why, limited seeker capability.
  7. Did Mozdok get hit so hard last round they moved it West some several hundred kms? :D
  8. Nice stream Wags. Though next time please can you add some AI and go crazy sir, lets see some of that pilot sheet.
  9. Nope, the pink circle is not at the correct orientation. :D
  10. Isn't this the dial and indication for elevation, seen here in the Flanker it is also in the MiG29.
  11. Just use vertical lock cqc mode, hms is for off boresight acquisition. You want to be able to lock up what you look at.
  12. This seems at bit of an OTT action considering we don't get the actual dial indicator moving in the cockpit. The numbers in the HUD are there to make up for this lack of modeling. This is a bad case of trying to shoe horn ASM into an SSM model. In other words a bad idea from whoever had that bump on the head.
  13. Yes, A-10 is a monster farp clearer. Though with the Su25T you should be looking to get 4 vikhrs in one pass but with regards to an unknown target area with shorad the best bet for survival is one at a time or 2 Kh25T, anymore and like you say you're in the lap of the Gods.
  14. Thanks for confirming I was getting worried, at least we can all sleep safe now you find a top secret link. :D
  15. I imagine that you are probably talking with no experience from using or designing the AIM-120 in the real World or have any confidential data regarding the missile or a clear understanding of how effective the seeker is against all kinds of variables. So you are basically stating your own beliefs which in simulator World count for zip. While it is a common tone that missiles in DCS do not perform well in the guidance aspect it is more of a belief that maybe they should be doing better rather than 'this is how missiles should work'. If this is an issue then it is an issue shared by all missiles, the Russian missiles are affected by the very same issues that the AIM-120 is. While you try and paint some strange picture that DCS is nerfing missiles to favour Russian planes, weirdly the AIM-120C is still the most effective missile in the SIM and the only player radar missile that barely suffers the chaff dice rollol.
  16. How to beat F-14 Tomcats with the Flanker Single player 4 F-14s vs 4 Flankers in flat open terrain. First consume much vodka then use the power of Stalin.
  17. Thank you for understanding Gaanalma, it's unfortunate because the match was shaping up nicely, we would love to have made an exception for such a great bunch of guys but in the end we must stick to the rules set out. Hopefully you're not too hard on yourselves, look forward to seeing you next time. Great fight.
  18. Obviously Mirage is on a hiding to nothing with AMRAAM and aim-9x there is only luck and errors for the Mirage to stand a chance. Without those then the sensible answer would be it is a depends on the pilot option which the op hasn't given us. Unfortunately though DCS SARH battles favour high roll rate aircraft and lots of CMs, the DCS Mirage can roll without compunction. :)
  19. As far as I can tell the C-1 and C-2 are the 120A and 120B with the C8 being the 120D. ED use the 120B and 120C-5 which known differences in the real World are clipped wings, new guidance unit, larger motor and warhead plus an eccm upgrade. How this converts to ED standard is moar speed, greater proximity detonation and near immunity to chaff to a factor of fudge.
  20. If you've joined the server you will find it in your mp tracks as a track, open it up in the mission editor.
  21. Basically the closer the better chance of hitting the target, combine this with being lower than the bandit and your chance of hitting go up. If you're up against an equal or superior platform then the above is bad place to be so conserving your missiles should be the last thing on your mind. Win the fight then consider your options.
  22. Of course they are. If i'm not mistaken other than the 4 warbirds the Harrier, A-10C, Viggen, C101, Hawk and L-39 are all missing from the poll.
  23. The same above can be said of the Ka50, a four ship of Kamovs is mp at its typical best. Plus with the addition of 2.5 terrain it just got multiplied.
  24. Right hydraulic pump pressure check, left and right pumps have different pressures, left one being the highest. Once the left engine is started the hydraulic pressure will read the higher value ie. the left pump.
