Hey Skull,
you can go to settings, gameplay tab and change "units" from imperial to metric. It'll unfortunately also change the units everywhere else in game, but there are already topics asking ED to move it to special tab.
I mean that you can tell the info bar doesn't show GS, but really IAS (when it says IAS), by being stationary with the headwind blowing. If the wind is 20kt, it reads 20kt, even though you're not moving. GS is 0 in that case.
I actually did some measurements a few days ago (allow for some error). Gauge background is spot on, they would need to recalibrate the needle.
Both tables were measured separately (not converted), rows between the tables thus do not corelate with each other.
It shows IAS. Put your aircraft on the ground against the wind.
Updated 2.7.2016
Latest version is 1.3
Changes:
Added imperial gauges
Reworked RSBN-5S gauge
Minor changes in the rear cockpit
Known issues:
ED still haven't fixed the specular bug
Either read the EDM model file with Notepad++ and find the corresponding material name or use this tool to extract the information. Rocket pod models are in \CoreMods\aircraft\MiG-21BIS\Shapes
Am I the only one getting this?
Instruments are illuminated but the flood lighting is very very faint and even including the flashlight.
Version 1.5.4 open beta.
1.5.3 doesn't have this problem and no setting seems to fix it.
Repair doesn't help, drivers are up to date.
Current system:
Instrument style (eastern/western) is tied to the units setting (metric/imperial). Problem is, you can't have your sim displaying (western) imperial units while flying Albatros with (eastern) metric instruments. Another problem is when you fly a lot of modules, you have to remember going to settings all the time to change it.
Proposed system:
Move Albatros' instrument style under L-39 Special tab. That way we can set the Albatros instrument style independently of what the sim is displaying. It enables a possibility of flying the Albatros with metric instruments and everything else in imperial (with player doing on-the-fly conversions)

Edit: Now solved by a mod.

Enjoy.
Just a heads up, this is still in works and at this moment 96,7% done. There are just a few areas left to be redone which I don't have proper photos of, so it's taking time. After that, the paint will be released in DCS user files section.
