Lighting Control Panel This panel is located in the rear area of the right console and is your primary means of controlling external and internal aircraft lighting. The top portion of the panel is dedicated to external lighting and the bottom portion is used for internal, cockpit lighting. It is important to note that the Master Exterior Light Switch setting (Pinky Switch on HOTAS) on the left throttle may override panel settings. Pinky Switch Forward: Sets external lights to default settings. o Retains set illumination levels for formation lights, nose floodlights, and nacelle floodlights. o Position lights set to steady. o Disables anti-collision lights. Pinky Switch Center: Turns off all external lights. Pinky Switch Aft: Lights are according to Lighting Control Panel settings. From the flight manual page 160.

This is not entirely true. Leatherneck is developing the AJS Viggen, which will (supposedly) realease before the F/A-18. Their are simply coding their own air-to-ground radar. But true some things like multiseat seems to be a thing that ED needs to implement.

FPS drops rapid when bombs are dropping
Ragequits replied to Quekel's topic in Game Performance Bugs
Welcome to the forums! And NeilWillis....before you slap someone in the face you should get your facts straight. The recommended requirements are 16GB of RAM. The minimum requirements are in fact 8GB of RAM. Reference the product page for FC3 and F-15C. http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/shop/modules/dcs_flaming_cliffs_3/ http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/shop/modules/f-15c_dcs_world/ -
Yeah you got me :P It is right, the 64 countermeasures are split on two pods but the combined total weight of the 2 ASO pods is still 22kg....at least in the sim And yes the viggen can carry without a doubt more countermeasures than the Mig-21, the only point I wanted to make was that this number of 540 chaff plus 56 flares could be possible if you consider the pod's weight :) But I have one question: The way you formulated it it sounds like the BK pod always carries 540 chaff and 56 flares or what ever the exact number is now. Do you know if this is the case or if it is a modular system like the ASO pod or the A-10c's countermeasure dispensers, meaning you can change the flare to chaff ratio? I think this would be interesting to know because if you are certain that the AO does not have alot of radar threats you could ramp up the number of flares. Although this might not often be the case if you consider the viggen's role :)

Regarding the countermeasure pods...I think it would be strange if they didn't hold a serious amount of flares and chaff if you consider the weight. The pod seems to weight at least 255kg. The Mig-21 bis' ASO can carry up to 64 countermeasures and only weights 22 kg. So either they use very heavy chaff/flares or the pod can hold a lot of them.....or the pod is made out of lead:music_whistling:

I for example wouldn't be here without such a sale. I bought the A-10C for 10-15 bucks in a Steam sale, with the intention to derp around a couple of hours have some fun and then move on. I started to play, thinking this just as complex as I heard but never thought it would have enough for me to keep me playing. But the more I learned the more I discovered how fun this learning is, how fun it was to get beaten in to the ground by this "game" (I know most simers hate this word in this context) but then learn and practice how you can exploit the given capabilities by the airplane to master a challenge. But on the other side I also see the point why they don't do these kind of sales anymore...they don't shift as much copies as other developers, because sadly the sim market is very small. So they can't afford to lose that much money with a bunch of copies that are shifted during a sale. At least I think that is why they changed it.

But as far as I know we are not getting these big discounts anymore. I think there was a official statement about this but I don't know where.

Hello! I've recently had a bigger windows 10 update with multiple computer restarts. Now i discovered my X-52 stopped working. I wanted to ask if someone else has this problem? I tried to delete and reinstall the drivers but it seems liker either my computer or the driver-installationsoftware doesn't recognise my X-52 pro anymore.

http://www.excessiveheadspace.com/tars/ Yes and it is really good BUT they stopped developing and updating it. Don't know if it even works anymore. But maybe there is a new plugin I might have missed.

Explosions are already getting some love. Sadly not ready for release as far as I know. Sound is could use some work but im personally satisfied with mods so far.:music_whistling:

With the experience I have so far i would say that in terms of a large scale war the dynamic campaigns are more immersive and realistic than the scripted missions. Other missions with a specific theme like Operation Save Badger or operation Jackal are better as scripted campaigns.
-
I would like to see a dynamic campaign system because there are only so many missions ED and our beloved content creators can create in a given time frame. A dynamic campaign system would help to give us singleplayer and co-op focused pilots more content.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I think the Tomcat was designed to intercept bombers an shoot them down (or at least threaten them) without being engaged by the enemy escort. After the cold war was over this scenario was highly unlikely, but the the f/a-18 was already in service so there was no need to upgrade the old tomcat because they already had a new fighter with these capabilities and better all round multirole design.

MiG-21Bis Dynamic Campaign: Guardians of the Caucasus
Ragequits replied to MBot's topic in User Created Missions General
I bought the mig recently, was frustrated by the campaign so i tried this masterpiece. First mission was a blast but unfortunally i can't see the weather for the next mission. Do i need to buy a bigger monitor (resolution ist 1440*900) or is the the problem some where else? -
No Launch or Lock Warning from a Tunguska?
Ragequits replied to Ultra's topic in A-10A for DCS World
Yes the Tunguska uses the SACLOS guidance system. Thats why the F-15C doesn't get a launch warning. If you are in a A-10 you get one....most of the time. -
Calm down buddy :) I said on occasions it is required, like the case you discribed. But not always.
-
Oh yes your are right just tested it. I know it used to work a long time ago but since then I never done it because it is a stupid maneuver anyway. But I strongly disagree on always flying at max throttle in the AO. There are some rare occasions where you want to throttle up to max all the time but usually it is a waist of fuel outside combat maneuvers.

Just one quick opinion: CMS: Definitely use manual mode! The auto just spams unecessary amounts of chaff and flare. Moreover, semi and auto tend to choose completly unsuitable programms (e.g. chaff against IR-sam). For programms I also would recommend custome ones. I use: Run-in: 1 Flare every 1sec X10 IR-Missle: 1 flare every 0.25sec X5 Works perfect for me. My chaff profile......I honestly do not know how good it is because..... Missle evasion: Radar SAM: Avoid! Just Avoid them. If you can locate a short range radar-SAM (e.g. Tunguska) you can easily kill it with a Maverick. But long range SAMs are nothing the A-10 should engage. It is possible but very tricky. But if you get shoot at dive low when it is at medium range and use terrain as cover. If there is no terrain you can try to drive the missle in the ground. Or you can just put it on your 9/3, push throttle to max, pump chaff when the missle is getting close and hope. On max range you might be able to stay high since you maybe don't need to make high G defensive maneuvers. Again 3/9 maybe even 6 but then you really need to be sure you can out run the missle. When you are close and it launches you can eject. If the first one doesn't get you, the other ones will. IR-SAM: These ones are easy to evade especially when a teammate warns you prior to your RWR. Always try to get to the opposite direction from where the shoot comes. If it comes from the right you pull to the left, if it comes from the left pull right, if it comes from the front I usually invert the plane and pull the stick. Regarding the distance: the closer the shoot is the more Gs you need to pull (better save than sorry). When it's a long range shoot for IR standards you usually can pull the stick quite gentle and even try to spot the missletrail so you can take revenge. With high altitudes it is usually the same. And also you just can't pull high G turn in the A-10 at 20k. You will stall your plane and make yourself a easy target. Disclaimer: I'm just a spare time pilot but i almost never get shot down with missles....always from these BMPs....they are far more dangerous than any SAM:D

No problem :) I personally don't think this would be resonable. Of course i could push my CPU even more but it would wither even faster since the voltage seems to be a big CPU-killer. Moreover, I then probably need to buy a new power supply for my pc. So I tried as suggested testing the CPU with IntelBurn while monitoring the temperature with CoreTemp and MSI Afterburner as a backup. I also took a look on how the coreclock an voltage changes via CPU-Z. First of all: The OC via OC Genie is utter garbage Compared to what I set in the BIOS myself it seems to heat up the processor more than my settings because of a higher voltage while beeing slower. I've set the CPU (for testing purpose only...so far) to 4GHz. Temperature is now around 60C° when running IntelBurn. Voltage at load is now at 1,3V instead of slightly over 1,1V (this is without OC). The bios actually lets me oc the CPU to 15GHz....this will mostlikely melt the CPU instantly regardless of what type of cooling you have attached :D And a big thank you to all of you guys!:) I'll now try to optimize it a little bit
-
So far I used MSI Afterburner to view the temperature...but I'll check it with these softwares too. I always thought the rising temperature would damage the PC component:music_whistling: But in this review you posted they overclocked this prozesser with a stock cooler to 4,2 GHz. Since my cooler should be better I'll try it soon with their values. Thanks for the tipp!

Thanks! It wasn't at full load when I tested it but the temperature was stable over the whole hour i played. So it seems like the settings are fine. If I had the money to buy a new rig I already would have done it :P But unfortunately I'm just a student, who has almost finished school and wants to go to university.....so I rather safe my money for more important things ;)
