  1. Thanks Cobra!! One small question, can we expect a skin template anytime soon? :)
  2. Exactly! Faithfully recreated sexy weathering and everything else that makes it look like this tough old boy just left an old hangar at a snowy Russian airbase! :pilotfly:
  3. Just bought this weird, ugly, full of inconveniences and old Russian plane :) I bet it will be a lot of frustrating fun to fly it! Thanks for your efforts LN! You deserve huge sales!
  4. Gonna test it out as soon as I can, thanks!! :)
  5. Thanks for your reply :) Yes, I understand, as I wrote above the sound makes sense. However what I would like to know is if the major sound blast in my bedroom is really necessary when I change cameras. I understand that missiles are much louder than cockpit avionics, but I don't think I need the actual difference in dB simulated in my apartment :megalol: BTW, off-topic, but I have a G73JW too, I hope yours is holding up well, I still love mine, even after all these years :D
  6. Hello everyone, I'm not sure if this is a bug or a feature, so I'd like to ask what are your views on this. When I launch a missle and press F6 to check it, if the camera faces the rear aspect of the missile there's an unbearably loud hissing sound. Which makes looking at the missile's external camera a big hassle, my speakers almost explode. I understand missiles traveling at high speeds would make a lot of noise and the sound effect described above makes a lot of sense in case of an AMRAAM lauch for example, but having those huge jumps in volume from cockpit/plane/missile is a bit inconvenient. Does anyone else notice this and knows a good solution/workaround? Thanks :)
  7. Bridge Commander... that's one of my most favorite games ever :D The mods were amazing, it had a really active modding community some years ago. I would fly around with connie refits having a lot of fun disabling other ship's thrusters! Those days were good :)
  8. In my mind I still believe that EDGE will be available Soon™... you guys know what that means :) However I'm happy that we got a few releases in the past months that kept us busy. Nothing with advanced avionics but hey, fresh stuff at least! :D
  9. This looks definitely much better than the baby-blue stuff, looking forward to using it :) One question though Devrim, do you still have the gloomy and unworthy black version you made for your friend? :music_whistling: I would love to see it as well, as I usually prefer black cockpits regardless of whatever :D Thanks!
  10. How long after the release do they usually take to release a skin template?
  11. The unofficial release date is: Soonstember Two-Thousand Soonetysoon.
  12. Nicest cockpits in my opinion, F-15E and F-117A: I like the F-15E cockpit because it's a nice blend of displays and analog gauges, and they are laid out pretty well. Same goes for the F-117A. And they are squared, another plus for me :) Ugliest cockpit, MIG-21: That layout and old submarine look aren't really something that fit my taste. Looks kinda messy and confusing.
  13. Excellent work so far, Ryan! Will you also release the weathering layers, so that we can include them in our own skins? ( with credits given of course ) That would be awesome! :)
  14. Honestly I never liked the MiG-21 as an aircraft really. I know it served its purpose very well but I couldn't care less about it. ...so the fact that I'm extremely anxious to get to fly this thing and spend hours and hours of my life learning all there is to it after this module is released, that's gotta mean something about its quality. :) Excellent job guys! I know it's taking long to be released and some people are discontent even with the fact that the updates are announced longer than they are promised to. But don't worry and just take your time! Things that take longer to be made turn out to be amazing things! Such as Duke Nukem Forev.. I mean nevermind. Just wanted to say that's I'm stunned with your work guys!
  15. Today it's my birthday, May 26th. For real :) Gift plz LN? :D
  16. I'd like to volunteer as an actor. I've recorded a DCS video in which I've voiced a pilot, I'll try to find it an upload it on YouTube.
  17. Excellent skin. The decals give a very very nice touch :)
  18. Hello everyone, Flying the A-10C and recently the ( bugged, but still awesome ) F-15C AFM, I still wonder what is the actual procedure that pilots use after touchdown regarding the wheel brakes. :book: How I do it at least is, approach the runway at the correct AoA, once I flare and land, I open up the air brakes, keep on average a 10 degree nose up and wait until the nose falls naturally. Once it does, I keep pulling the joystick up to use the elevators as airbrakes. My problem is, especially with the F-15, is that if I wait to hit the wheelbrakes at the desired speeds ( I've read somewhere 50knots in the A-10C and I have absolutely no idea about the F-15C ) to avoid dealing with a tire burst as a real pilot would, I just can't stop before the end of a medium length runway such as Batumi's. Checking out F-15C videos for example, the pilots seem to stop the planes relatively quickly, and I can only replicate their "timing" if I hit the wheelbrakes very soon, right when the nosewheel hits the ground or even earlier if I'm landing an F-15C with a heavy payload. :joystick: ...my guess is, maybe they hit the brakes very gently and smoothly right after touchdown and as speed decreases they increase pressure on the pedals? I don't have that luxury yet since in my case I use the W key and not an axis. :pilotfly: When and how do pilots hit the wheelbrakes? :) Thanks
  19. Has anybody tried the mod with the new SU-33 and SU-25T cockpits? When looking backwards there's no 'head over the shoulder effect' and the haed goes inside the pilot's headrests in both cases. In the SU-27 it works fine. I believe it happens because it was simply made to allow free head movement inside the previous 'locked up' 2D cockpits. Does anybody know how to fix this? This mod is an absolute must-have, just can't live without it anymore :)
  20. I hear tell that the SFMs have correct "general values" and that the AFM is more about giving you the "feel" of the plane and getting out of the "flying like you're on rails" kind of behavior. But I do feel that, at least compared to the other fighters the F-15C engine thrust right now is VERY powerful. Still, if it's accurate like this, I love it :) Maybe it's the other jets that need tweaking? I wouldn't know.
  21. 8Ball that picture is absolutely hilarious
  22. What I think is that whatever your eyes see or whatever your brain does to compensate does not mean it should be like this in the simulation. We are not feeling any physical sensations that a pilot of a fighter jet would feel, and at least in my opinion, this HAS to be compensated visually. :pilotfly:
  23. As far as I know they were only actively developing the T-2. :) I think the others like the Harrier and F-15E had only 3D models imported into DCS and have no substantial work done in them, and I'm sure the Cheetah is the same thing, a 3D model there just for the fun of it. I agree though that prematurely showing all that stuff to either not be released ( given on how things are with some 3rd parties ) or to only be released many years from now is not adequate, in my opinion at least. :P
  24. Anybody noticed the name of the plane? O.rly?-o-no-k.
  25. All I have to say is... Why that? I mean, of course anything is welcome, but as far as I know they are fairly busy right now with other things and other models aren't they? ...unless it's another April Fools joke. O__o
