  1. Which plane is the free plane? I think this will be answered during the Alpha, if not sooner. I'd imagine the alpha will include the one free flyable plane that is included with DCS:WWII. That still gives everyone plenty of time to adjust their selections before DCS:WWII is officially released and licenses for the six aircraft are sent. But it does raise one big question... Why is the "free" aircraft even listed for us if it is included with the main sim. Licenses for that free aircraft would basically be worthless. Do you get to choose your one free plane from the six upon download of DCS:WWII? I think I just tied my brain in a knot. EDIT: I guess it was officially stated that the free a/c would be either the 47, Spit or 109. So that narrows it down, but my other question remains.
  2. Please read my post directly above yours. If you select the FW190 from the flyable section you will receive the license for it when DCS:WWII is released by RRG. (proposed Sept 2014) If you select the FW190 from the rewards section you will receive the license as soon as they are able to deliver it to you (Hopefully very soon) and will be able to fly the FW190 within DCS:World before RRG releases DCS:WWII. After DCS:WWII is released you will also be able to use the FW190 you selected there as well. As far as the strategy guide, I believe this is all we know so far... "a hard copy of the game’s air combat strategy and tactics manual"
  3. Haha it's funny you asked this question, David. I had the same thoughts when I saw it when the thread started and did some research myself. I eventually just wrote it off as a WIP and moved on. There is no way this community would let a detail like that slip by without some lively discussion :)
  4. Don't kill yourself dealing with it all. We need you in this for the duration :) I'm sure everyone will agree, that a status message like this one goes a long way.
  5. No, I believe that is incorrect. If you want to fly the P-51 or 190 BEFORE WWII is released then you need to choose the DCS P-51 or DCS 190 from the rewards section. When DCS:WWII is released those two keys will work there as well. The aircraft in the flyables section are aircraft licenses you will receive when DCS:WWII begins. The bottom line is that the P-51 and 190 are both ED products. RRG is not changing them for DCS:WWII at all (according to several official posts) The "reward" element of it is that you can fly those two in DCS:World before DCS:WWII begins.
  6. Yes, what he said! Get the 262! We require sufficient quarry to sustain my dreamed of "Jet Hunting Club" :)
  7. Agreed. Maybe there should be an "official" thread for such things to avoid the inevitable chaos of individual threads for each person with an issue. Also it may prevent redundant questions that seem to be occurring. Possibly a sticky?
  8. Oooooh! Did you see what was just posted in the backer section?! Just kidding, Whip. Hang in there. If anything big drops I'll relay it.
  9. As far as I understand it, you will have DCS:World access to the FW190-D9 once ED releases it. (Which appears to be soon) Alpha access is in regards to DCS:WWII and that is dependent upon EDGE and its release.
  10. We were told in the past you would not need to buy any aircraft twice. It was stated that the P-51D and FW190-D9 are DCS:World products and will be the same ones used in DCS:WWII So it seems like you only need to buy those two aircraft once. I selected all the aircraft as well, Gav. Can't hurt to have a few extras to give away to people. :)
  11. I think this may clarify it a bit after looking at mine. Flyables: (Aircraft you can select to receive when DCS:WWII is released) - P-51 - FW190 - Me109 - P-47 - Spitfire - Me262 Rewards: (Other bonus items including DCS:World licenses for aircraft you can fly before DCS:WWII is released) - Project T-shirt - Manuals for each aircraft - Strategy Guide - P-51D license (Flyable now) - FW190 license (Flyable soon) - Alpha Access to DCS:WWII Hopefully that helps.
  12. I will do my best to make it a painless, honorable death. Who do you think you are kidding? I know you've been training all this time. :weight_lift_2:
  13. Looks much better now :) Thank you for the quick attention to this.
  14. Same here. Happy to see the progress. It shows my correct backer amount: $1000 but indicates no rewards, no credits listing, and 3 flyable.
  15. I'd suggest P-51D as the weapon of choice but we would have to find you some flying time, stranger.
  16. Gentleman? Why thank you, sir. Oh wait... How dare you!
  17. Hello Gentlemen, and I use that term liberally. :)
  18. There are a few errors on mine too but it's a Beta.
  19. I just logged into it. Looks good.
  20. Customer relations last. Brilliant. That has always shown to be an effective business mantra.
  21. I really didn't want to respond to you anymore... but you make it oh so hard to resist. You, little fella, are the only one getting excited. Take a look at the way you write your sentences. I can almost see the steam from your ears. Everything I have written has been civilized and constructive. You really need to start paying attention. Ah yes, promised items on the kickstarter should not be expected. That makes sense. Now you are really enlightening the masses. I can't believe I have to explain this part to you. I purchased a P-51D license from ED long before RRG began their work. Thank you for trying to put me in my place  This just doesn't make any sense. I'm not going to attempt to decipher it. When have I ever complained or even commented about the timeline of the sim development? The only struggle is within your twisted logic. I'm really hoping you are just some butthurt fanboy and not anyone with a legitimate tie to RRG. If that were proven I would detach myself completely from the enterprise.
  22. haha MAC, I was thinking the same thing. :megalol: Surely, Luthier wouldn't give me his own P-51D key! The only thing "misplaced" is your understanding of the issue. That article is a fun way to confuse the topic at hand. This environment is far from what is depicted in the article AND futhermore when money has exchanged hands we have every right to be opinionated. No one here is threatening anyone as far as I know. Are you suggesting that our demands of a professionally run customer facing element is a source of sheer terror for our beloved game developer? Does this request for due diligence make us offensive monsters in your eyes? What part of my comments are not constructive criticism? We have suggested many ways things could be remedied and many have offered assistance. You are blind if you don't think we don't want this effort to succeed. Once again, the point of my entire criticism has eluded you. I've been flying the P-51D for quite a long time and host a 24/7 public server dedicated to it. I do not need your product key to act as a finger in the dike. I am genuinely concerned and I have respectfully asked for improvements to the manner in which things have been run.
  23. I know you're trolling with such volatile wording and 15 posts under your belt but here goes... You honestly think that it is acceptable behavior to not touch base with individual backers SIX MONTHS into development? And for the record, I'm not really that concerned about the Skype meetings actually occurring yet. My real concerns, which I have clarified time and time again, are about communication (or lack of) from RRG. Yes, we all knew going in that is was a small group trying to pull off a very ambitious goal. To keep repeating that is ridiculous. I must live in a different world, but when someone lends me assistance in any way, I make sure they know it is appreciated in some way. I might even answer a few questions or concerns from them. I believe for true flight sims to avoid extinction the online communities such as this one are CRUCIAL. This is not a console arcade title that will sell no matter the fan base. The Kickstarter campaign made this all too apparent. You have here a dedicated group that has poured their hearts and souls into the DCS P-51D and can easily envision the mother of all WWII sims and its potential. The Mustang proved it can be done right, but also set the bar very high. I hoped ED picked the right person to carry the ball the rest of the way and I feel we have every right to express our concerns in a forum setting. I have given compliments on many occasion when they were deserved. Do you think you'd ever improve if people blindly gave you compliments throughout your life afraid that they might hurt your feelings? This obscure character said something relevant once... “Criticism may not be agreeable, but it is necessary. It fulfills the same function as pain in the human body. It calls attention to an unhealthy state of things.” - Winston Churchill
  24. Sith, I hate to sound like I am stirring the pot at all since I've already decided to stop voicing my opinion... BUT, I noticed you saying the main reason for this thread is to convey outstanding questions. Has a single one of our questions been answered by an RRG representative yet? Or should we expect those to show up in September 2014 as well? :smilewink: EDIT: Just noticed the other responses. Sorry to repeat the obvious.
