  1. Great! Thanks for the info. I'll have to check it out. EDIT: New question. Any chance of a functional windsock?
  2. Oh? I'm not a very active fb participant. That'd be great news. Shows that I don't spend enough time flying Nevada. Good to know.
  3. Yep. By the way, here's some wind sock evidence, if needed. A21 Saint-Laurent-sur-Mer. If you can add that aircraft too, that'd be great. :D
  4. Right, that's a good start. As far as custom mission design goes, a simple airfield you could place on the map would be a huge addition. Something we've dreamed about for a long time. There are definitely complications with such a thing, as the guys above have pointed out, but a rudimentary grass airfield seems less complicated. How does the supply chain work for the Heli example that you can use in the current mission editor? I thought you could re-arm/re-fuel from that (in a Heli) which would be essentially the same function. Maybe I'm over-simplifying it?
  5. At the very least it would be nice to have a simple operations building/tower that you could place like the current Heli FARP. If you were on the ground near it you could re-arm/refuel. Landing on the current terrain/grass is pretty manageable with some practice (at least in the Mustang) But yes, that was my point of asking about grass runways  Along with that, is there any hope of seeing a wind sock anywhere in the future? For some reason it has eluded us thus far but seemed like a staple of any airbase with prop-driven aircraft. (Please don't suggest smoke stacks, we've used that band-aid for years)
  6. The allied ALGs were just stepping stones and pushed inland quite quickly from what I understand...but most were built from scratch. (some were French airfields - The one at Cherbourg is an example of a re-used field) My question was just to inquire where the axis airfields would be placed. Are grass strips a possibility? That would be very fun to experience.
  7. Can you tell us how the Axis airfields will be handled? From my research there weren't many inside "Normandy proper" / those regions outlined on that map.
  8. Just noticed your user name. You definitely need that skin adaptation!
  9. Spit and map look great. Can we have that mirror on the stang eventually? maybe even two?
  10. I'm happy to hear this is possibly getting re-visited. The circle of life. http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=1994107&postcount=4
  11. This has been an issue with a long long history of frustration. My buddy, Whiplash, created this thread (among several others on this very topic) just over two years ago... http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=119557&highlight=prop+governor Sith, is there any info you can provide that might set expectations for damage model revisions? Especially ones like this that continue to cause pain for so many.
  12. No problem. I'm terrible at documenting my mods but I am tying to document more & I'll take some new pics. Below is a drawing I did that basically shows how I incorporated the FFB motor.
  13. Another option if you only desire the stall onset vibration... 1. Grab a Logitech Rumblepad 2 2. Crack it open. 3. Extend the wiring to the primary weighted motor. 4. Use a clamp to secure the motor somewhere on your stick extension. 5. Optional - Extend some of the buttons for extra input options. Works great with 1.5 EDIT: And if you do want other "rumbles" I can attest that the AuraSound AST-2B-4 Pro Bass Shaker Tactile Transducer works great in DCS.
  14. That's funny, HH. I called the "scientist" the professor last night when flying Raiders. Helpful note: the resultant explosion caused by the experimental payload in his vehicle is quite.... dramatic. Whiplash witnessed both of my wings being blown off during a low gun run.
  15. Will this really be the first appearance of the R-2800? What happened to the Thunderbolt? :noexpression:
  16. This sounds promising and I hope your wishful thinking comes true, Sith. We have had some discussion about the DoW server and the plan going forward and I do share the sentiment that the hosting machine should not be required to purchase a license per map if it is only used to host missions for a squad or the community. The real dream would be a true server front-end optimized for hosting without any rendering or unnecessary overhead. These are exciting times for sure.
  17. This project was put on hold for a while, however I recently decided to finish it up. The laminated map is mounted in front of a steel sheet to accommodate magnets. A covering sheet of clear acrylic is on top to protect everything and give it a more finished look. I'm pretty happy with the end result and figured I'd finally come back and update this thread.
  18. Condolences to all those in France affected by this atrocity.
  19. Happy to hear it worked for you too!
  20. I agree with most who have chimed in so far... it can a bit intimidating when joining a TS server for the first time. Language barriers also play a big part. As was said already, and from what I've seen, most who jump in and give it a try usually find a much more fulfilling experience. You can always disconnect and go elsewhere if you don't like that particular crowd.
  21. Unfortunately 1.5 seems to crash quite a lot, ST and I'm not able to watch it all day...damn day job! That's probably why you couldn't see it. You can however select it as a favorite by clicking on the star to the left of the server name on the list and then it appear up top if it's online.
  22. Seeing the same issue with our server. Shows a 10% status and hangs. This started after it worked for a few days. Also un-installed/re-installed Beta with same result. Updated AMD video card drivers as well. EDIT: I seem to have found a fix for the moment. I deleted the USER specific 1.5 folder and restarted... and it works again.
  23. CT, No worries, man, we still like ya! That's not the IP of the DoW Teamspeak. If you go back a page on this thread, Whiplash updated our current IP address. Here it is... 108.5.249.33 We don't have any member named "arcdaius". I do believe there is another gaming organization with the same name...and it seems you jumped on their TS server. As for the game server status...Hopefully we will have it up and running again soon. Sorting out a few minor difficulties at the moment. 1.5 decided to give us trouble. EDIT: Server is back up and running. I will try to keep an eye on it and attempt to get it back up after any crashes.
  24. Waiting patiently here. Anything we can do to help, just let me know.
  25. I am still forming my opinion of it as it is quite new. My point was concerning the enforcement of things that enhance capabilities if people agreed they negatively effected the game play. I'm totally fine with people disagreeing with my view & I've never tried to force anyone to agree. By all means host YOUR server any way you see fit.
