Cannot make HUD SOI if either MFCD is in sensor mode
Kid18120 replied to Warmbrak's topic in Bugs and Problems
I'll have to check after the latest OB update of last week, though i'm 100% sure that a couple of weeks ago it was working as intended. Meanwhile try rebuilding your input structure. Just go to "...\Saved Games\DCS open beta\config\input\A10C" and move somewhere else the input config files, then start DCS. It will rebuild the default controls layout with new files and if you have a HOTAS warthog you won't have to configure anything apart some curves on X/Y axis and your rudder pedals. Give it a shot to rule out a possible old input layout conflict of any sort. -
[SUGGESTION] Mouse Support for higher Polling Rate
Kid18120 replied to cancan69's topic in DCS Core Wish List
My Corsair Dark Core RGB polling at 1000Hz has no issues with DCS. I had issues in the past on another game with a completely different mouse, but in that instance it was a faulty driver for the mouse -
So much THIS! I'm sure the Devs know that those who really support them are the silent ones, but posts like this certainly do help to keep the morale up :joystick:

Everyone seems to keep forgetting that the track isn't just a replay of a flight but rather a telemetry file that allows the engine to re-fly and reproduce the exact conditions and steps of a user with all the inputs and outputs tracked. A specific dev build with properly developed tools can do wonders with a track file :music_whistling:

"anything is subject to change" is literally spammed everywhere DCS related. DCS is a constantly evolving and software development in particular is very prone to missing deadlines due to new blocking bugs or features that are taking longer than expected to complete before release. That being said, "it will be ready when it's ready" is also something spammed everywhere when it comes to DCS. Constantly asking why/how/when/what will be released won't make it happen any quicker.

All the flyables included in MAC will be the current standalone modules "downgraded" to a "Flaming Cliffs" level, so no clickable pits and limited / easier systems implementations controlled via keyboard shortcuts AFAIK

Get a friend to pay for it and then pay back your friend after christmas :megalol: :joystick:

"preventive flares" is a useful and realistic tactic that saved my ass more than once even on my A10C (sometimes you get too close for comfort to manpads, especially manned CA ones)

ED dev 'btd' cleared this up for us https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=4086220&postcount=7

I used to leave my mav caged and "fly it" on whatever the mark is (smoke, IR, etc) then ground stabilize it (TMS down short), then i started doing so with the TGP as it gave me better SA while manouvering to get ready for the actual engagement run. I find the HUD's TDC too keen to errors and have to fine-tun with TGP/MAV anyway so why not do it right away?:pilotfly:

Russian Precision-guided munitions -PLEASE
Kid18120 replied to Grodlund's topic in DCS Core Wish List
Well, if the rework is coming through as a fully clickable cockpit with systems added/fixed/expanded i'd gladly pay for it :joystick: -
AH-64 Apache Longbow Attack Helicopter...
Kid18120 replied to everest101's topic in DCS Core Wish List
I'm confident the AH-64 is coming to DCS in the future, though i doubt it will be the Longbow -
I don't use the random failures simply because although they are random, they happen every single mission you fly
-
Well, there's always DCS Mission Planner (DMSMP) by AMVI_Rider for that
-
Might be usefull insight... In the A10C you MUST press the NWS / AR Disconnect in order to be able to re-connect after disconnecting. The indication next to the HUD also switches from the ready status to the disconnected status. Might be the same case for the F16? I can't test for my self as i haven't got my hands on the Viper yet
-
Glide slope and altitude are a perfect reference for an eye-balled distance to touch down. I don't think real F16s have the distance shown either
-
Different planes with different flight models and different implementations in the DCS engine. There's no one good for everything setting in DCS. Just go by trial and error and judge by feeling :joystick:
-
You're always free to play Ace Combat games since based on the quoted statement bot that and DCS are on the same plane (which totally aren't). You don't have a 100% super duper ultra accurate reproduction of the FM ? You still have the best the market has to offer. You can't do anything about it other than anjoying what we have. Plus as 9L and Wags already sayd multiple times, we most likely would never be able to tell if the FM was just 80% of the real thing.
-
This might be just F14 related so HB would have to fix it. I had a quick test with A10A, A10C, F5, F15 and F18 and they indeed do work.
-
They are still allowed to FERRY 6 of them, hence why DCS should allow us to load 6 MAVs :smilewink:

Kneeboard pages for normal & emergency procedures
Kid18120 replied to BlackWidowCB's topic in DCS: F-16C Viper
The solution is "VRK - VR Kneeboard" from AMVI_Rider. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=246970&highlight=vrk :joystick: -
The term "4K" is refering to screen resolution in respect to the horizontal pixel count, so you just need to set the resolution to the proper 3840x2160 or thereabouts (3840 ~= 4000 == 4K).

You are making a mixed mess of Eagle Dynamics and 3rd party modules, just saying :music_whistling:

Yeah, my virtual wing has been stuck in their seats for a while now
