Not sure about a tablet but you certainly can export your whole cockpit to a second monitory with Helios (i coupled my Helios setup with a touch screen display, so no mouse is needed at all ;) )

It all comes down to a very simple thing: It's a matter of choice. The devs model "useless systems" because there's people who'll choose to use them. They also provide easier-to-access modules (FC/MAC) for those who couldn't care less about startup procedures, systems mechanization and such.

I don't think ED ever said "we'll release F16's TWS <thisDay> !" I'm pretty sure ED always words their related sentences like "We INTEND to release <feature> with the <date> <branch> update" and also "... everything is highly subject to change as the work progresses" or things along those lines. So no, ED hasn't given a release date, they just informed us about their intent which in return means they are hard working on <feature> which is a great thing. There's a massive difference there.

That was pretty cool to watch

It appears to be happening only in the caucasus theater, i haven't noticed it in PG or NTTR

We do encounter these issues in my wing as well. Server browser will show our server ping in the range of 150 - 300 but once we all join the highest ping client is at less than 80ms. There's definitively a problem with the server browser page and said problem doesn't seem to affect everyone. Probably different world locations will have or not have such issue due to different internet routing, that's my guess.

[OT] In ArmA3 i usually put the tracers module along with some actual AI AAA tanks and use a little trigger magic sauce to disable the module and activate the units once you get close enough :D [/OT]
-
That would require actual units being put in the mission along with the more resources being used for the whole scenario. A simple effect like i.e. ArmA3's "tracers module" that allows you to put an entity (not rendered) somewhere and it will make an area of effect / textures only barrage of tracers randomly firing around. Place it far enough and you get that alive battlefield feeling without "wasting" computing power for it

Brightness control for Text and Labels ETC
Kid18120 replied to FragBum's topic in DCS Core Wish List
Maybe not directly linked but a separate slider for UI text brightness would be nice and easier to implement i think -
I'd love to see a C130H or a C27J to be a study-level module. For the kind of missions we fly in my wing we'd have a blast
-
Subscription model no, but i'd settle for an in-game store where you could buy skin packs, official missions / campaigns, rent virtual servers for a set period of time and stuff like that. Though i understand this would require a huge effort from ED to build and maintain such products for this sort of microtransactions store
-
There are ways around that though :smartass:

Keep rocking ED, we support you even though we get mad at you every so often :D

For fixed wings I find the P51 actually to be the most challenging on landings, closely followed by the 109 and 190 (i don't have the spitfire so i won't put it in the list). Modern planes aren't that difficult once you figure out how the controls act/react to the landing configuration (F18 i'm looking at you ;) ) For rotaries, i'd say the Mi8 hand down

That was a side note for newer suites of the hog not implemented in our sim. It has the first few markpoints (for us being A/B/C/D/etc) named specifically T1/T2/T3 and so on and they are reserved for target markpoints. I might be wrong though as this is coming from stuff read on the web a while back, someone else also mentioned it on these forum not too long ago in another thread. Nothing automatic though, at least not that i'm aware of. Back on the issue at hand, if the JTAC send you the 9L over SADL, you can just slew your TAD over to the red triangle (being the target the JTAC sent you over SADL) and set the TAD as SPI and just TMS right short to make your own markpoint without the need of manual inputs in the CDU

It's a matter of different tech being used to build such newer modules. They probably "over-upgraded" the modules tech for what the "new" old engine (2.5) can handle
-
120s on the tip "stabilizes" the wing IIRC

The BIG difference between the F14 and the F18 in "dirty" configuration is that the Tomcat doesn't have the FBW system "switching your control responses" when you go full flaps :smilewink:

Precision-Guided Munitions - GBU-38 won’t drop
Kid18120 replied to Highwayman-Ed's topic in Mission and Campaigns
Creating mark points using the TGP is far from perfect. The TGP uses a mix of the aircraft's INS/GPS and its own LOS to determine where it's looking. At very flat angles, like in your instance where you're far away from whatever you're pointing at, the position of tank you "lock" is determined by a calculation that is precise enough but not super accurate. If you deisgnate the base of the target (as in the ground right beneath it) you get a much more precise location because the TGP has the ground referenced in its LOS, whereas with an object that "for the aircraft's systems doesn't exist" (as in placed afterwards, so a tank or a building) it will estimate the correct X/Y/Z coordinates based off the theoretical intersection between the LOS and the ground right behind it. I've attached some mspaint magic to better illustrate what i mean :D -
Cannot make HUD SOI if either MFCD is in sensor mode
Kid18120 replied to Warmbrak's topic in Bugs and Problems
Nice, glad we sorted it out! That's the very first thing i do whenever i have some strange controls behavior. Works (almost) every time :joystick: -
I think for this mark points are used. IIRC newer A10C suites have i think 10 "reserved" markpoints (called something like tgpoints or the likes) that are "generated" just moments before running hot for a PGM drop. I'm going off of memory about something i've read somewhere, so i might be completely wrong about it :D

I've always wondered why they don't provide "direct power" or some sort of "backup power" through the pylon's wiring so you don't "waste" a drop :book:
-
It's indeed due to warping, as others have pointed out. ED should set some kind of hardcoded limit to the strenght of wake turbulence to avoid those "mach 10 warps uber turbulences" from generating
-
it also is "cheating" as it can tell friend or foes automatically in real time all the time :music_whistling:

This would be a super cool feature that would make them AWACS even more important in organized missions. Would give a whole new meaning to HAVCAP missions :pilotfly:
