  1. I seriously hope it will be possible to join a server running a mission with the SC in and that it will be possible to trap / launch from it just as any other carrier, without ofc the eye candy stuff (no crew, no new animations for cables, that sort of stuff). Are there any official words about this kind of "issue" ?
  2. If it works don't change it :D
  3. They are in the sim indeed but the ACMI pod is not functional, as there's no way to tell if your CAP9M shot would be a kill or a ditch, at least that i know of... someone please correct me if i'm wrong.
  4. Formation lights are part of the 3D model, not the skin. You'd need an actual 3D model MOD to alter it.
  5. AFAIK the tanker flight path is managed by the AI because of the racetrack function and can't be altered
  6. This kind of question would be better suited for the Mission Editor subforum. There you might find more helpful tips more quickly
  7. OP clearly stated that the loadout is set in ME
  8. Isn't this protected by a WoW switch on the landing gear?
  9. I see, that makes sense. It would clip in the ground after "snapping" back to its intended position after the repair otherwise :book:
  10. Slightly OT but is there a good reason for the "lift in the air" animation while repairing?
  11. And that's why listening to the morse code is important rather than annoying :D
  12. WE are the QA :D
  13. Another Sim is already heading full steam ahead in this direction with external studios help for the "ground" part of the sim :pilotfly:
  14. On the F15C (FC module) you can launch in HOJ mode so it is modeled at least in some way
  15. I can say that it is somewhat modeled, at least for the A10C i fly. I haven't directly tested this on the hornet but since it's technically the same pod, i'm guessing it's the same behavior. Once the pod goes for the "sping" while overflying the target it won't lose the target track but the laser will be all over the place until it stabilizes. A little "trick" is to stop lasing just before the spin, so the bomb will go ballistic and the start lasing again once the TGP stabilizes back on target. Not sure if MAV-Es can lose and reacquire the lasing though
  16. In the A10 a good tactic is to "mask" your engines in respect to the missile's direction with the tail just after going idle and doing a hard break. Usually works and to be extra sure just pop a few flares right before doing the break. So yeah the changing variables are somewhat implemented
  17. I was under the impression that triangle shaped contacts were TWS bugged ones? :noexpression:
  18. I'm in no way an expert on the subject but i think that the information processing going through the RWR system is a bit more complex. True it should "detect" a STT as you use SAM mode but it might be filtered out due not being a constant STT kind of signature, hence not triggering the STT lock warning
  19. It isn't implemented yet, i believe
  20. That's correct. I usually have a "blank" mission point named "CASTGT01" (sometimes 02 and 03 as well if i'm expecting to be retasked) so that i can type down the coordinates as it's being read and do an actual read back before sending it to the CDU, this way you don't have any "dead times" in between the various preparations. If the JTACT sends a SADL task it's usefull to triple check that neither you nor the JTAC are looking at the wrong thing (AI JTAC won't but stil.. :smilewink: )
  21. I'd love to see some "reds" opposition, so i voted SU-33 but it's really MIG29/SU27/SU33. I'd settle for earlier versions too, hell i'd be happy with the current FC models to be upgraded to DCS-level
  22. Yup, pretty much the exact definition :D "A software bug is an error, flaw or fault in a computer program or system that causes it to produce an incorrect or unexpected result, or to behave in unintended ways."
  23. I'd be more than happy to have the gateway system simulated in a simple way, such as something like: - is there a gateway-enabled asset in the mission? ---> No -> No D/L cross-comm ---> Yes -> D/L cross-comm (just positioning and just maybe SPI sharing) Without the need of distance / reach / range and what not simulated.:joystick:
  24. They'll probably implement this as an expansion of the actual combined arms module
  25. There's nothing better than just having to run DCS, join whatever server and just set the right frequencies to be on whatever comms you need. No 3rd party tools needed. Though, until ED's VoIP system is fully implemented with every A/C radio without the need to mess around with rooms and what not, i think i'll stay away from it and keep using my handy .bat to run SRS and DCS when needed :joystick:
