the non existent communication is getting rather annoying
Pman replied to 9.JG27 DavidRed's topic in Western Europe 1944-1945
Just let me add something here before this goes totally off the rails. I am pleased to say that I have actually met Luthier in the flesh a couple of times and one thing that he simply oozes is his passion for this hobby and its subject. I truly believe that they are working hard behind the scenes and although I am aware of some of the issues stalling not only this but other projects as well I think its worth noting that lack of communication is not in line with lack of work. That said, I think he has missed a beat with not appointing someone to act as a go to guy for him and his team Pman -

Hey Matt, think that's the same guy that contacted me, the entry for the show has been closed for weeks, I advised him that the next show is VUAF in October Pman

Just to expand what Rock was saying All the aircraft although based on the P-51D do fly differently and you cant fly the Spitfire the same way as the Mustang and again differently from the P-38J. We have cockpits for some of our aircraft and are working on the others and with abit of creative work I can get them working in the sim but a completely custom AFM is out of the questions as none of us have the expertise in C++ nor do we have the funds (as a small private mod) to pay someone to make the AFM either. I actually have a plan of how it would go if we did go down that route but for now its off the table. If you want to see more of our piccies and videos check out the facebook page :) Pman

oh yeah that was awesome I was at that show, gives me goosebumps whenever I think about it :D Pman

I think that is very wise considering and would hope that you do not go down this path again in the foreseeable future.

Thank you for the answer, it is appreciated :) I will look on with hope and interest Pman

Id be interested in answers to some of the questions regarding legal entities as per my post here : http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=2007647&postcount=34

Thank you for your announcement, I am sure that you will receive hundreds of pms and emails etc so although I am going to make a few of my concerns known I do not expect a reply. It is to your credit that you have decided to continue the project without beczl's input however I want to know about his initial contribution, by your own admission he contributed a minimum of what 15% of the project? Presumably you have an agreement with him to use his work or you are re-writing it? What is the legal entity behind the product? Where is the liability held? Which legal entity is responsible for the support and upkeep of the product? Also where is it based and under which countries jurisdiction? I find it concerning that you appear to have no future plans now that you have all but ruled out the Mig23? Going forward the information that you actually provide in your announcement amounts to "We are still here, we will still do Mig21 and we will honor where possible the indie pledges" Also I assume that regardless of the internal issues, resolved or not, the Mig will be delayed until 1.2.8 is out? I await to be impressed with your progress but what it amounts to at the moment leaves some pretty major areas for concern, especially as you are 100% relying on new sales if what you say about having received none of the funds is true. As a potential new customer I am concerned to say the least. Hopefully my concerns are not justified Pman

Different issues though One has been held for development issues, ie things to come in 1.2.8 and a legal issue with BAE for licencing. The other because the leader of the dev team has effectively said there are issues which may mean abandoning the project entirely. To the point that even the most optimistic person cant believe that the original Mig21 team is still in place (at least in its entirety) Dont confuse a legal and technical issue with a complete meltdown internally which is what appears to have happened with Mig21. All we can do is wait for the statement from Studio Beczl. Pman

One from us for this evening -
Problem is that its not that simple, With the way the AFM works you need aerodynamic co-efficents to get anything right, and although your correct with no flaps etc it is simpler, but it is by no means simple Pete

I have quite alot of experience in this at the moment with the work I have been doing on the Corsair, Spitfires, Bf109's etc that we have been doing for The Great War Birds Historic Flight It is possible to do a tail dragger in SFM, but you will not get the tail rotation on the take off roll and they are only landable with a perfect 3 point landing. With AFM you can either start doing it yourself if you have experience in aerodynamics and coding or get someone to help you. Although in my experience the people with the afm skills want the project to be a release module so there is $$$ in it. You can manipulate the FM's (AFM or SFM) with some work, and if landing/take off isnt that important you will be able to do it in SFM. Pman

Couple from me of the Great War Birds Historic Flight during the VA show at the weekend. -
Hehe I think that was a jibe at me :p Either way tbh I always have much more fun doing the acro stuff then combat. Personally combat in DCS can be abit of a chore for the most part where as acro I can peel off and throw it around for half hour and im done :) Pman
