  1. Ummmm….. what's with the 1,000 lbs missing between 44-45 and 48-49? edit: Never mind I get it now
  2. Great spot man! Guess we got a little more info that we were supposed to
  3. BuNo's and Modex's my friend. There are no bort numbers on Navy jets :D
  4. Here's a great guide that helped me. It's for the F-15 but a lot of stuff is applicable to the hornet as well https://www.mudspike.com/dcs-f-15c-combat-guide-for-beginners/
  5. I hit F9 to go to shipcam and that gives me the carrier course. My question: Is that heading magnetic or true? OP: Consider using ICLS. That will definitely help you line up on the landing strip
  6. Yeah you should be able to run standalone off the disc. I think the last version was 1.1.1.1
  7. Make your money Heatblur. Make your money and keep the modules coming :)
  8. It's like anything else in life. You use it enough, you get used to it, you stop noticing it, and you'll wonder why you ever had a problem with it in the first place
  9. Hey guys. Had the same issue. The controls that are highlighted in red have more than one function assigned to that particular keybind. When the update ran, I guess it added some keybinds to your existing controls, so you need to go through your controls and delete the extra key assignments. Once you fix all the conflicts, close DCS and restart it and everything should work again. I know it's kind of a PITA fixing that stuff, especially if you (like me) have literally hundreds of custom keybinds, but at least you all know this issue can be fixed and that DCS isn't hard broke.
  10. Now I'm tempted to attach to the cat at max weight and then try to take off with no pylons and min fuel :D
  11. Don't worry buddy. It's not just you. There are a couple of threads reporting this bug, but i don't have any links handy.
  12. Thanks for adding the 82Y to the inventory! I suspect that TGP/ATFLIR is still a ways off, but if you guys could make GBUs available, it would be really cool if we could drop those with another platform providing buddy lase!
  13. Is... is this still the case? This thread was last active a year ago...
  14. I think it's listed under something like "Targeting System Reset". It's on the panel by your left knee. Should be able to bind it yourself...
  15. The HUD is focused at optical infinity. Just like your goggles should be. It's impractical to adjust your goggles every time you want to glance at your instruments. Just get in the habit of looking around them. I like the new NVG implementation much better than the old one. Much more realistic
  16. F/A-18s definitely have a probe light. If anyone knows where the switch is or what the key bind is, please share. FYI max speed for the KC-130 refueling drogue is 250 KIAS. Can't speak to the -135 or the S-3, but if anyone was wondering about any realistic limitations, there's one for you.
  17. Hahahaha that looks like a flash game from the early00's. Way to go, LM!
  18. Not in front of my computer right now, but I think it's 'VTB Viewport' or something like that. If you get the Harrier you'll have to map keys to get the MFCDs on your second screen as well
  19. Oh man that is so much better! Thanks ED, and thanks M1, for pointing out the obvious to oblivious me! Can't believe I missed that...
  20. Hey guys, this fix worked great for me in 1.5.8 but now in the 2.5 open beta changing the offset angle in the config file back to 0 doesn't seem to do anything for me. Is there some other way to fix this? I very much prefer having the HMS in the center of the screen. Thanks
  21. Wowwwwww...... I've been flying around in the stock English cockpit for years now and decided on a whim to download this mod. Night and day; love my new shark pit - she's a thing of beauty. Never thought a fresh coat of paint would make such a difference, but this is pretty amazing. Thanks for the work!
  22. Here's how I describe the two modules to people: A-10C: Flying = pretty easy; Systems = damn difficult Ka-50: Exact opposite So to answer your question, yes, the A-10's systems are way more complicated than the Sharks.
  23. Former Marine KC-130 Loadmaster here: Watched you jet and helo guys stab away at my basket for years and years. Unless the hose was bouncing around, most of the hornet guys were silky smooth. Only had one refueling mishap with a Hornet, and that was our fault (hydraulics on the refueling pod failed, hose stopped responsing, slack formed in the hose, sin wave up, sin wave down, and we are the proud owners of a surprised hornet driver's refueling probe). AV-8s were always pretty b-hole clenching to watch. Those poor guys have to look up and over their shoulder to line up the probe with the basket. The only time I ever called breakaway was when a Harrier pilot thought it would be a good idea to line up about 10 ft above and behind the basket and dive into it. Dragged the drogue down with his momentum, bent the hose at a right angle and ripped a hole in it. Don't even get me started on the 53Es... Anyway, for me the most fun I've had in DCS is mastering air refueling. I just find it incredibly rewarding when I make contact and hold the plug for a full bag of gas. I'm really looking forward to trying it with the Hornet when it comes out. My question for you, neo, is have you tried tanking with the Mirage in DCS and if so, how does that compare to your experiences in real life? Oh, and it's always nice to have an actual SME on the forums. Thanks for making yourself available
  24. Hey man I was a -130 LM. Congratulations, you got the best job in the Air Force. Have fun and stay safe!
  25. We're all HUD cripples...
