  1. MFUZ set to OFF EFUZ set to INST If you have MFUZ set to nose and/or tail you'll get the DUD indication.
  2. uhhhh yeah that made my CASE-1 recovery a little more interesting than usual ;)
  3. Thanks TLTeo! So the Cat doesn't work with the super carrier but it does still work with the Stennis. Got it, thanks!
  4. Not being snarky, genuinely curious because I don't know: what are you basing this on?
  5. No. Maybe if you had a wingman they could spot the launch and call it out, but in the aircraft itself (A-10C specific here, don't know for sure about the A-10A) you'll get a high pitched audio tone and a M on the RWR if the MWS detects the missile, but there's no 'voice' alert.
  6. RAIDR, VIKNG, go cloak. RAIDR wilco. Pretty sure they do tank with NVGs on from time to time.
  7. While we're at it, can we get the pod lights for the KC-130 fixed?
  8. You can always set your HUD as SOI and designate your target. You'll get that handy arrow in the HUD telling you how many degrees off the target is. Get your nose on heading, make your TGP EL match that number and you should be looking at the right spot.
  9. OP means Paveway. He says JDAM in the thread title but then refers to the GBU-10/12/16
  10. Regarding the immediate download, can't say for certain about the Hornet since I already had it installed, but the Su-33 was available the very next time I fired up DCS
  11. I used to run DCS A-10C on my crappy non-gaming laptop for the longest time. If you're ok with flying just the Hawg, version 1.1.1.1 can be found on the DCS website. You're limited to just the Hawg since this version predates World, but with your setup you should be able to run the training and simple missions just fine.
  12. Yep can confirm. Definitely bled out one time. It was several versions ago though so it may not still be a thing.
  13. Hold down uncage, look at your target with JHMCS, get tone, release uncage
  14. Haven't tried VR, but from lurking in the forums it seems like some people have problems spotting targets and reading gauges, so keep that in mind. Outside of that though, I'll bet DCS is massively immersive with a VR headset
  15. Fly in echelon, and if you position your view right you should be able to keep the HUD in one side of the frame and your form buddy on the other in 16:9. Seriously though, invest in TrackIR as soon as you can. It's a life changer, and i can't imagine doing air-to-air without it. I did A2G in the Hawg for a year or so without it; it's doable but DCS is much better with it.
  16. Lifesaver! Hate reaching back and unplugging stuff, but it sure beats restarting the mission or, GASP, trying to fly without head tracking!
  17. Except for the ones that start with 'J' (JSOW, JDAM, JASSM etc) of course :)
  18. Probably no mistake he said "aircraft" in his Mudspike interview, as opposed to "airplane" DCS AH-64!!!! Bring it on!
  19. Set the playback speed to 1.5 so that way you only waste 20 minutes of your life next time
  20. Just flew the Ka-50. The export video was super dark for the Shkval and Abris. Hope this gets fixed soon.
  21. ED made two promises: 1) Viper development wouldn't affect the Hornet and 2) Viper releases early autumn. Guess something had to give. I totally understand being frustrated, I also can't wait until the Hornet reaches its full potential. I bet it's a struggle for ED. They want to give information out but they know if they don't come through they get pummeled in the forums. Personally I'm glad they prioritized release of the Viper as I get a shiny new toy today, but I certainly understand the desire to get a finished product.
  22. Personally I'm glad I don't have to wait another year to fly a finished version of the Hornet for the first time. I can't be happier with the time I've invested in it to this point, even in its unfinished state. The pace of updates allows me to completely learn a system until a new feature is added. Trying the learn the A-10C (I started flying it in 2012) was like drinking from a fire hose. The Hornet has been a much shallower learning curve. I look forward to flying an incomplete F-16C as soon as it's available and have confidence that ED will ultimately deliver the goods. Thanks for the work ED. Keep releasing compelling modules and I'll keep signing up for Early Access. [/opinion]
  23. Yep pretty simple and straight forward. One key press to turn on the electrics, a few key presses will get your engines turning, and then you're ready to taxi. Check your bindings. The number keys switch modes Nav/A2A/A2G etc. Ditto for cycling waypoints and weapons. Simplified controls mean simplified systems, right? You can't do some of the more advanced things like set waypoints, program flight plans and weapons parameters, tune your radios. That kind of stuff. They still feel great to fly, but you're missing the full on system's interaction that you would get from, say, A-10C or F/A-18C. Less of a learning curve, and if you have a good stick, you can map pretty much anything you would need to your HOTAS. Great for VR!
