  1. That is a big "probably." More than a few military pilots and engineers over there... We shouldn't view these FM criticisms in a confrontational way, or react defensively. Based on the renewed activity in the bug tracker forum, Magnitude 3 is hard at work on improving the Mig-21 as we speak, and we are all cheering for their success.
  2. It sounds like FBW may not appeal to him for flight simulation. The Mirage 2000C is an excellent module and its developers get an A+ for communication in their forum. You won't be disappointed.
  3. So many posts about whether or not it works for this person or that person, but the initial suspicion that it was a starforce problem seems confirmed: So, if it doesn't work for you, it wasn't your fault and it never was your fault. And if it does work for you, you were just lucky. I wonder how many user-hours and ED-hours have been sucked away by this bug that had nothing to do with ED and nothing to do with the users' systems?
  4. To me the whole point of the clickable cockpit is that it is not all on the HOTAS. The Mig-21 pilot has to remove his hand from the throttle or stick to adjust the landing/taxi lights.:)
  5. Different engine performance at altitude, too. The 190F was tuned for low altitude performance.
  6. 190A and 190F would be different planes with different flight models, wouldn't they?
  7. Good choice Reflected. I don't think you need a mod for the English language cockpit. There's an option for that in the settings. Don't mess around with the campaign that comes with the module. I found it pretty bizarre because you're flying the Mig-21 alongside western fighters like the F-15 against other Mig-21s. Instead, look up the Guardians of the Caucasus campaign from mbot. Good luck!

    Same issue here: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=174176
  9. It is normal for only some users to experience a bug. But no one can assume that when 2.0.5 works on his machine and not on someone else's that it is the other guy's fault. After all, NTTR worked fine less than a month ago. As cichlidfan said, only ED can fix a bug that they introduced. Users have tried repairs, clean installs, and whatever is recommended, but it won't undo the changes that were introduced with 2.0.5 update 1.
  10. This was linked at the very bottom of the post in the change log. Good luck!
  11. Problems exists for users with Windows 7, 8, and 10. Systems are 5 years old or brand new. It runs the whole spread, and it's affecting more than a "small number." Personally I'm sitting on 2.0.5 before the first update. No reason to update when nothing is broken with 2.0.5 before the updates. The trouble is that the good version of 2.0.5 is no longer available for rollback.
  12. It is a good module and was even better a year ago. Once M3 gets the bugs worked out I think it will go back to being one of the very best DCS modules. If you want an objective survey of what early-release means, just browse the bug sub-forum. Note that you may or may not experience the same bugs as other users.
  13. If you start in the parking lot next to other parked aircraft there is a bug that reduces your fps to single digits. Once you move away from the parked aircraft fps go back to normal. This is only on the NTTR map and only with the Mig-21 module.
  14. I don't understand the i7 recommendation when he doesn't have trackir or pedals yet, and he's on a $1100 budget. What is he going to get with an i7 and a less powerful gpu that he wouldn't get with an i5 and a more powerful gpu? Give me a fixed budget and I'm confident the latter will have better performance in DCS than the former.
  15. I can't see the difference from the photo in the OP. Is it something you have to try out to notice?
  16. The only thing I've managed to hit with the R-3R in the last 4 months is a B-52 from dead astern. I've tried it out against all kinds of AI fighters from different aspects, and you're lucky if the R-3R gets within 500m of the target.
  17. Use flat terrain shadows, reduce a few other things to high or medium, and you can whoosh through the strip at 60fps in 4k.:pilotfly: Long ago I figured out that the highest possible resolution was more important to me than any other graphical setting.
  18. And also the recommendations from those of us who already own the module. I used to claim that the Mig-21 was the best module in DCS. I still think it is good, but I'll be excited again when the bug fixes come.
  19. The R-60 used to work in 1.5.x. I first reported the problem when it appeared in 2.0.x, but nothing happened, and then the bug was introduced into 1.5.x.
  20. Did the $1000 backers get to test it out already? I hope so!...:ermm:
  21. Maybe a bit of a translation issue there. I think you're wondering when the Mig-21bis will finally have its bugs ironed out and reach release status. About a year ago the module seemed like it was just about there. But bugs kept on creeping in with each new release...:no_sad: I'm going to keep my fingers crossed and wish the new team the very best. Eventually I expect the Mig-21 will get sorted out.
  22. I've used both and I haven't noticed any evidence for that. Some of that perception might come from the extra cost of nvidia; the chocolate is that much more delicious when it costs $10 instead of $5.
