  2. I'll try to keep this short, though it will definitely mean over-simplification of the issue. In a combat environment SAMs and AAA are an ever present threat. They are not merely used for short-range defense of air bases. However, I rarely see this in DCS multplayer. Are there populated servers that try to simulate a combat environment with SAMs and AAA?
  3. That has happened to me a few times in the M2K. You have to switch the radar to interleaved to see a target with the same airspeed and heading, or get very close.

  5. Hi everyone, For me it is extremely difficult to judge height over the water in Normandy. This pic is from 150m asl. Water was set to "high" in the graphics options.
  6. You can get a balanced result by removing the Aim-120 from the mission. But I find that the absence of ground fire and infrared SAMs in multiplayer has much bigger impact on gameplay and tactics than the lack of an R-77 for the Su-27.
  7. The mission complete % is kind of mysterious to me. I follow all of the instructions to a T and still do not receive 100%, sometimes much less.

  11. Of course it is a bug. If you tell the unit to drive on the road that is what it should do. In DCS 1.5 units drive on the roads very well.

  14. I'm not saying it is correct (I agree it is very suspicious). But I know CptSmiley will get to it. Razbam has done a really good job with the M2K module and their communication with customers is #1.

People have a tendency to assume that the most recent iteration is correct and final, but a quick look at the recent past indicates that to be a naive assumption.
  16. 2.1 does not in my experience. I have 16gb but I only see 2.1 using half of that.

  18. NTTR has pretty good performance in 2.1. Normandy is still pretty rough, so I wouldn't use NTTR performance for discussions of 2.1 Normandy performance. Adjusting settings may help some, but it is no substitute for a fix from ED. 2.1 performance is definitely worse than 2.0.5, even in the NTTR map.
  19. At 1920x1080 he should be able to, yes. I will give these Nvidia CP settings a try and see if they help in 2560x1440 and 3840x2160. Don't be confused. It is ED that can bring us back to 2.0.5 performance, and very unlikely that anyone can do it by merely adjusting his settings. The psychological phenomenon of confirmation bias is ever present in these discussions.

  21. I barely noticed the difference. The one difference I could observe was in loading multiplayer maps. The more complicated maps would seem to hang forever on loading with 8gb.
  22. Thanks. Gave it a try. No difference here, but I never had any issues with deferred shading. Just hoping to get 2.05 performance back with trees and buildings.
  23. Yeah, I just gave up on the mission I was working on. When I put in the exact same scripts and triggers with a new mission it worked fine. Something was corrupted in the .miz file.

  25. With the 109 you can basically open the throttle all the way and not even think about it... I'm a little incredulous that the Merlin was so much easier to overheat and damage.
