Just found out that i spent 585$ on DCS and i don't even play the game most of the time i just visit this forum and waiting for some news about Dynamic Campaign, Vulcan and other stuff. Last module i bought was 2 years ago...

Soon there will be Caucasus 3.0 because current map was updated with DCS 1.5 and Syria 2.0 and Persian Gulf 2.0 with map extensions but you will need to own previous maps for missions and campaigns. Kind of getting VEAO vibes when they been allowed to release Hawk with two different flight models, on the same server for one plane... One person will have mountains with more polygons so if you going to chase someone one person going to crash on mountain side and the other not.

They have made it all wrong... Because of that kickstarter years ago i know... They should start with oldest planes like with Emil Bf-109 and then slowly progress towards new ones. Then you would feel kind of progress. Bringing older planes like G6 would make sense if they would deploy whole set of planes and a map for a certain time of war like in that other sim.

I was reading in some ED interview that DCS has a lot of "legacy code" aka spaghetti code, means that it probably goes all the way up to Lock On. In that interview it was said that sometimes its better not to touch it. I'm not a programmer but im playing a bit with Unreal5 and there you have blueprints which is coding but made easier by using visual aspect rather than lines of code. And even that it is much more intuitive you can get lost in there, so i can only imagine that playing around in such complicated code might be even task impossible to make. The problem is that there are a lot of 3rd party modules and they need to work after changes, some of 3rd party do this as part job will they be able to keep up after those changes? So its might be better to start everything from scratch, but if making new engine will take years what if by the time it is done it is already obsolete. Even the big companes like CD project and others are leaving their own engines and move to U5 because of Lumen and Nanite, much more people know them, and because they just work.

To make it happen we probably need to wait for Vulcan, to have better performance with so many units, without proper ATC its gonna stay back behind that other sim, and AI to take care of so many units. Its incredible that first proper dynamic campaign happened 24 years ago and is still a benchmark for it. I think we need to take a nap for another few years, but i'm sure when we wake up we will be surprised how well it is done.

Just started DCS today from half a year of absence and this bug is still present. Its related to bombers like B-17, C-47 and others. Bug appears mostly when AI is changing direction of flight or when reaching a waypoint. Seems like they fly or some kind of rails, like its scripted, they fly sideways, this is super immersion breaker. Similar thing happens on multiplayer when someone have bad connection like loosing packets and then he's plane is going back quickly to correct position.

Maps and modules are all over the place in this simulator, i know its dcs WORLD but still. At least that Enigma multiplayer server might be the first iteration of dynamic campaign. That's the only thing that i need and vulcan. About the maps we have plenty of them already, as mention many times by others we need Vietnam and Korea for current period and for Mig-15 vs Sabre. I don't have any idea what i would do in Australia map, for training i have Nevada.

All this modules, its all fine as long as buying them supports development of dynamic campaing, yet there is no info about it for a very long time, so just vote with your wallet

Wet surfaces are available for military versions of DCS not for us plebs

1. Dynamic Campaign. 2. Engine update (better performance)

What do you expect from a very small team? This module will be more like a mod after few more years, because they cannot keep up with bigger and more competent teams like Razbam, Heatblur or Deeka. The sad thing is that we need to get rid of them by not buying their modules. Thanks to that they will not be able to claim to develop popular planes and leave them in the stagnation for years. Sorry but they need to go VEAO way... Would you like to have P-40 build by VEAO with broken flight model and bugs not fixed in years? Im a customer I paid full price for the product yet the product feels unfinished. I will never again buy anything from any 3rd party developer. Its just not worth it, better to wait for ED to develop it.

WW2 planes are easy enough to learn that there is no point for simplified version? Why? because its much easier to just flip the switch with mouse rather to remember where i blinded that switch to the keyboard. If you want simplicity then you have il-2 or WT, what's the point of having two the same simplified simulators i don't get it, i see no point in that.

Last time at the end of the video we've had Apache teaser, this time i hope we gonna get Raptor.

correct as-is Durability of wings and spars
Peter5on replied to Coco22's topic in New Damage Model Bugs
Wing start to bend and break off before rounds start hitting the plane at 1:00 huge ammo explosion on left wing. 0:38 you can think that the whole wing came loose but in reality the smoke just covers it. 0:42 Liberator is taking direct hit from flack gun. I think we've been playing to much that other ww2 sim where wings break off very easily. I remember playing the one with 1946 in the title years ago and even then i've been doubtful about B-17 wings breaking off so easily from mk108, where there is no evidence of something like that, and more there is one video where bf-110 shoots and shoots B-17 even direct hit to the engine and it still flies like nothing even no fire in the fuel tanks, here it is. Here is betted HD version of it -
correct as-is Durability of wings and spars
Peter5on replied to Coco22's topic in New Damage Model Bugs
To get the real truth we should ask German ace pilots like Erich Hartmann, he would tell you how many shutdowns been to wing disintegration. To shoot down il-2 he told that you need to pierce its oil cooler. About wings breaking there is more than one guncam video of Fw-190 wing explosion probably because of ammo so that would means it can be quite common. I also saw gun cam from pacific when one of the Japanese fighters lost a wing from 050cal but that could be also ammo explosion. What im certain that direct hit from german flack to the wing of B-17, B-25, B-24 was fatal and causes wing breaking off and huge fireball, there is plenty of videos and photos. I think DCS damage model is perfect now, the problem is that in real life pilots were ejecting more quickly with less damage to the plane. -
Type this in google "a 10-Player WWII B-17 Simulator" and you even have screenshots of the cockpit. I've been playing old version of this sim made in 2000 you can try it too.

Yup but we shouldn't compare ED with 3rd party who is doing this as a part job or hobby after hours or even on the weekends only. Anyway there is another sim company who is making B-17 and B-24.

New water and ground impact effects looks really good compared to real life
