  1. Hi Sokol, Thanks for the info. Yes, I can do it myself - just where to get newer components is answered by your reply. It may be easier to just wait to see if anyone jumps in with a new version. Cats . . .
  2. Title says it all. I have an old Cougar throttle that has been extensively used in the past and in which I loved the ergonomics. My options are to: Completely replace all switches. (if possible) or . . . . hope that some manufacturer is going to or is already making a current version of the F-16 Throttle. Does anyone know of a manufacturer that is working on a new F-16 Throttle? or . . . . a complete rebuild kit for the Cougar throttle? Thanks for any help. Cats . . .
  3. Correct.
  4.
  5. I second your comments of the WH stick. I only replaced one button in 8+ years of service and that was because I dropped the stick and broke the left thumb switch. Also, one bricked throttle MB (early production) and replaced with no problems for many years now. TM have a great product with IMHO, a poorly designed gimbal. I've just mated my TM stick to the VKB base and find it absolutely the greatest stick sensitivity and feel in flying for many years. I thought I felt the small bump in the VKB bearing on one of the axes when installing the 50 lb springs. Before I mounted the spring I tested movements. I played with loosening and then re-tightening the bearing and it went away. My concern is the cost for shipping from China. The shipping and duty for the WH adapter was more than the cost of the adapter. I feel your pain and want to hear how you have resolved the issue with VKB. If they had a supplier in both the EU and US, it would be better for all of us regarding costs.
  6. This!!
  7. Thanks a bunch! I'm installing my WH Stick today (broke a button wire) and testing how it feels. With your information and how I feel about the results of the WH mounting, I will probably get the F-18 stick ordered shortly. Thanks again. Cats . . .
  8. OK, thanks for the info.
  9. Great to learn this! Under what column does the stick appear in the SIM set up screen. Still under VKB? I also wonder if the TM config tool was used if it would identify the TM stick as a TM stick in the SIM setup screen. Thanks for the detailed info on the filing. (I assume you mean filing the adapter and not the stick?)
  10. The CNC video is a great example of the fine production quality of the components. I am now understanding the reason for base price of these components. However, considering the weight and when you add the cost of shipping and equipment price, it more than likely will be well beyond what I can afford. I really hope that in time they can develop a North American and European warehousing and delivery facility. Right now, ordering an item from another Chinese HOTAS manufacturer, that hardly weights a few ounces, the cost for shipping almost doubles the price to Canada. Keeping fingers crossed for solutions. Nice Work! Cats . . . .
  11. Good to read this. I also will be receiving my adapter in a couple of days and I have 40 lb springs installed. I wasn't sure if it would be necessary to change the cam. Looking forward to hearing your results on installation in the F-18 stick. Thanks, Cats . . .
  12. Agreed and the end of Autumn is December 21st. So . . . somewhere between Sept. 21 and Dec. 21 if I understand the common calendar correctly or my understanding of when the sun crosses the meridians. :)
  13. I certainly do like the old Cougar Throttle which I still have. I prefer it to the WH throttle for fit and ergonomics. It needs to be upgraded but I'm waiting to see if anyone comes up with a new version of the F-16 throttle with modern internals. The cost of upgrading or buying is always one of interest. I'll watch and see what comes up in the next few months.
  14. Arming Ejection Seat Hi Wags, Why is the Viper ejection seat only armed when on hold at the runway and not at the time of startup? Also, is it disarmed after landing when leaving the runway before parking? Thanks, Cats . . .
  15. This works great for me! Thanks for the tip. Nice combination of clarity, framerate and anti-aliasing.
  16. Moved - sorry, wrong forum. Cats . . .
  17. For me, I have it set to maximum as I have a lot of ram and hate to see any little hic-up that may arise if I set it lower and it has to reload.
  18. Not confirmed officially yet.
  19. Thanks for the info. Just finished ordering it from VKB. Keeping fingers crossed that VKB-Sim BlackBox TM controller works for the F-18 Stick. Cheers,
  20. No problem with the accent. If I may offer a suggestion - just slow-down a bit so the viewer can study your button clicks in combination with your explanation. Overall very, very good! Cheers
  21. The best detailed information yet. Thankyou. SUBSCRIBED

  23. When you read your eyes move inwards towards your nose and therefore the pupils are closer together and the measurement is shorter than when looking to infinity when the pupils are generally centered. Also, each eye can be different when measured to the center of the nose. This is normal for different people.
