Hi guys, I have gone to Oculus S VR and also decided to upgrade my Vid Card to gain better fps and better graphics clarity. I have a good running 1080 and want to upgrade but budget is a BIG issue. A ti series is not affordable. I see that the new RTX 2070 Super card is whithin my budget. I guess the real question is: is it worth the upgrade to the RTX 2070 super at this time or wait a bit? I understand that an RTX 2080 super is on the doorstep. I do not intend to switch to AMD. Any help much appreciated. Thanks

Bummer on the board. But . . . . on the brght side, you get to clean up the gimbals, do some sanding, ream ou the holes a bit with a one quart inch drill (by hand) and re-grease. FYI: This is the best Vid I've seen on refitting a WH Joystick. Cheers,

Cable parts and fittings are available from TM including soldering pics if you are not successful in repairing it. I just ordered a set delivered via regular mail. Should be here this week. Best of luck in repairing.

Which Spit? You refer to the K4 but don't refer to which Spit with which you are referring. Also, at what altitude? Design features make one superior over the other at different altitudes. They both in general, have different jobs. So please be specific!

Agree on the main gear fragility. So far, my mechanics have kept me airworthy but are now betting on which gear I collapse. I think I'm just a little high when she settles in and drops too hard on the gear. It is a three pointer though.

I have the trigger first detent firing the cowl machine guns and the second detent firing all 4 wing canons. So when I pull the trigger in all the way, all guns/cannons are firing. I use the cowl machine guns for ranging purposes before firing all guns/canons. Only thing I can see that seems confusing is that the cowl machine guns do not have a safety switch but the wing canons do. So I have to make sure the safety is off to get the wing canons firing on the second detent along with the already firing cowl machine guns. Beastly fire-power. Will be nice when the new damage model comes along and allows for the difference between machine guns and canon damage.

Just downloaded and installed the standard version. I'm new to this and was looking for a manual on how to use Tacview that I can download or install on a tablet for reading. Is it only for viewing online? Sorry for the dumbish question but I need a little reference link. Thanks for any help.

On their website the desktop clamping system looks very flimsy. I don't think it will hold up. It is different that the robust ones shown in their videos.

IRL it changes at about 18000 ft and up where the Spit's big wing area catches more air for hard turns and yet the aircraft's aerodynamic shape slips through the thinner air easier than the Anton. Good A8 pilots will not engage the Spit IX at high altitude unless a good bounce is available. Quite marvelous to me how both sides engineered their aircraft in steps to dominate the other and how performance varied at different altitudes. Years back when I flew with the virtual squadron 2JG1 our technique was always to energy fight with lead and wingman in a deuce attack when below 12,000 ft. When a melee was going on at altitude, our squadron circled the outside edge of it gaining altitude then shallow dive through in pairs picking out an aircraft, shooting and then busting through and out the other side and climbing again. Rinse and repeat! No circle fight. If you missed - get out of Dodge and dive in again. Cheers Cats . . . .

For me, as much as I like the F-18 Stick - the problem is the base design. As long as they supply such an inferior base system (IMHO) no further TM purchases for me. ps: I've been a TM owner since the very first stick/base releases so what's that - over 20 years? TM have dropped the ball in the Flight Sim business. I'm thinking of the F-18 Stick on my VKB base but . . . . have to use different systems. WH Throttle + VKB Stick and have to wait and see what VKB do if anything for an adaptor plus what programming can be done with this combo if it becomes available. Oh woes. :)

Received my S today and am I glad I sent back my O+ last month. Once I had it set up and running I was immersed. I wear glasses and have some other eye issues but I could certainly read the text and the instruments. I will take some time tomorrow to fine-tune resolutions to the best that I can and await the DCS update. I had only two 10 millisecond white/snow flashes during 2 hrs. It is my first time in this medium and it will take me a bit to max out my settings OC Graphics card (1080) and OC MB. I only had a little stuttering in Caucuses at 1.2 but runs smooth at 1.0. I have to figure out which smoothing settings work best. The ones with Oculus, Graphics card and or within DCS. I don't want to duplicate efficiencies. This is my first and a keeper for me.
