  1. So Sith, I tell ya, I have been in the quality control and asset integrity game for many years and in my industry we the owner of the assets do hold the 3rd party companies to the flame. We agree on a criteria based on owner requirement and industry standard. We check their work, we issue non-conformance reports or other, we review before release, and should an item fail in the future, we hold the 3rd party responsible through rework or charges. Perhaps this is something not implemented in the software world but I see no reason it cannot be. Lets use the Mirage and the infamous takeoff roll problem. The item was in beta. A complete list of items in a loose priority sequence could be created and posted in a section of the forum. I know that at that time the list would have been a long one but still, the purchasers of the product would understand what needed to be fixed in the eyes of ED and RAZBAM. The takeoff roll issue would for example be item number 32. Priority given to more prevalent problems or prior noted by ED, the customer, or RAZBAM. As the weeks progress, the list is updated and eventually item 32 is taken care of. Is everybody happy, no, but I know that myself, yes I most certainly would be. The same could be done with ED on 2.5, Map X, L-39, Hornet, etc etc etc. Its just a simple list. We the public get to know whats happening and see progress. No more vale of secrecy. Part of it for myself comes down to what do I do with my group. If we are going to base ourselves on map X but see its item 72 on the list, well it gives us the ability to rethink. It helps the community.
  2. I already am. I bought the Mirage, that was the last time I bought beta. I think the term beta still applied at that time. No ED cannot control companies splitting but they can control a list and hold the 3rd parties to it. They can publicly post that list and have everyone informed. 3rd party confidence should start with ED. They are the ones who grant the status. They are the ones providing the base software. PR is to be honest the biggest and near only reason these topics are constantly at the top of the list. Just keep us better informed and there is no reason to guess.
  3. You can't have it both ways Sith. You said its not acceptable yourself so what would you have ED do? Be realistic. As pointed out, your beyond rational discussion so there is no point in continuing. In the end, I think all people want is an up to date list of work in progress and a system in place to ensure years do not go buy before issues are completed. TALK TO THE PEOPLE SITH. Thats what I want, and I think its what a lot of people want. This is what ED is working on, this is what ED is having "3rd party A" working on, and if your item is 5 down on the list, at least you know its being looked at and the other issues take priority. At least we would have the ability to understand where the product we pay for is going. JUST TALK TO THE PEOPLE.
  4. But years of "early access" is allowed.
  5. PR has always been an issue with ED. We all know the products for the most part are very good but to suggest that years of "early access", or years of listed issues that can be fixed with simple code changes it acceptable simply exasperates the issue.
  6. Good on ya Wraith. You speak for a large number of people in this community.
  7. Man, every time I see a new update I want this bird more. Keep up the good work gents.
  8. I'm a Suzuki M109R guy. Love the bike. I used to be a crotch rocket guy back in the day.
  9. Ah man. that sucks. I'm glad I got to see it fly.
  10. Don't run! We are your friends! I'm in!!!!
  11. It's called cooling not refrigeration. Something isn't right with your readout.
  12. Im a water cooling guy. I actually just put a water block on my FE GTX 1080 and I've always run a water block on my CPU which I overclock. I've never had a leak and I do find that I can run the system hard without high temps so it works for me. I understand these days you can get the big bad air coolers for your CPU but that's not an option for your GPU. That's a lot of the reason I water cool. I create one loop that has both in it and I'm done. The photo attached is during the build. Its much cleaner upon completion.
  13. I used the X55 for years, great HOTAS. Before that I had CH and TM Cougars. Now I have a Warthog setup and MFG pedals. Its way more precise than the Saitek stuff. I mean way more precise. But its expensive. With that, if you can afford the Warthog, get it. If you can't, the X55/56 will do you well for years to come. I'd say I'd sell you mine but your on the other side of the world.
  14. Wow man, good find. Did anybody else find the packman game in Google Maps? Love the April Fools Easter eggs.
  15. I'm running a 4790K at 4.6Ghz and a founders edition 1080. Both are in a water cooling loop. VR is smooth at 45FPS with PD at 1.6 and high res cockpit textures. I do have 32Gb of RAM which certainly helps as well.
  16. I second Kneeboard builder. It takes about 2 minutes to figure out. There tutorials on his website. At that point you can bring any document you need into the game.
  17. This is a good read based on announcements and etc. Good things are coming but it'll be a bit as we all expect. https://www.vrdiscussion.com/blog/article/26-oculus-rift-2-what-when-to-expect/
  18. Given prior statements on this forum it would appear ED has decided to not go with Nvidia specific tech. To me it seems foolish given the lions share of GPU's sold historically and more than likely in the future will be Nvidia, but I digress. I could see them making a stance if this was Call of Duty or any other top contending video game but its not, its a niche market that could easily capitalize on leading tech but they do not. It is what it is and although I completely disagree with that path, I can either deal with it or play something else. These days, I play something else.
  19. I had 8" lcd monitors behind TM MFD's. Worked great. Sold it now that VR is a thing but it was incredible for immersion. I think the monitor and board with HDMI connector were about 80 bucks each. I think this would do the trick (but do your own research) http://www.ebay.ca/itm/HDMI-LCD-Controller-Board-8-EJ080NA-05B-800-600-Lcd-screen-/152143417660?hash=item236c74513c
  20. LMAO. I instantly thought of this:
  21. Theres no advantage to the i7 at this time given DCS does not support multicore. Go with an i5.
  22. First set was CH and it lasted probably 10 years. I replaced it because it was serial port. Second set was TM Cougar. Lasted 6 months. Garbage. Third set. Back to CH. Forth set Saitek X55. 3 years and I decided I wanted TM Warthog. Bought the TM stuff but the Saitek is still in like new condition. To suggest Saitek is any worse than TM is simply brand bashing for no reason. They all have issues.
  23. Good, it'll keep the line open long enough for Canada to buy a full fleet of them.
  24. I used to run adapters but its about the same price or less (pending on where you buy) to purchase cables with the ends you require.
  25. Same as the others. I can't say its perfect for AA combat since the scaling has been removed but for AG missions I've had no real issues at all.
