  1. I agree Bit. I found that the i7 3770K can run hot (in the 70°s you are golden). Prime95 was ok for 8 hrs. http://www.tomshardware.com/news/ivy-bridge-overclocking-high-temp,15512.html Anyway, that will be a reason to update the platform. :punk:
  2. You have to specify, for gaming and any applications who don't use the hyper threading. The improvement is 10-15% when this technology is used, for $100-$130 :surprise:

  4. With the previous version of DCS, Prime95 burns 92 watts, DCS (and Windows, etc) use 2/3 of a quad cores CPU. How is now?
  5. But those are not real cores! DCS don't use the hyper threading techno.
  6. The best advice is the worst news. Don't spend money on an obsolete trio (CPU, mobo, RAM). Get a new one.
  7. I want to thank my wife. Love you sweetie. :xmas:
  8. Where is the other half?
  9. i5 6600K, Z170.
  10. In the bios, set your RAM at the lowest setting (or at 800Mhz), then you will be able to overclock properly.
  11. No. Upgrade the one you already have? http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gpu-hierarchy,4388.html http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/best-cpus,3986.html
  12. You should set your cpu at the default speed or less (don't overclock). Under clock your ram at a lower speed (2133mhz) . Remove all unnecessary usb devices. You can also use a hair dryer to warm up some components before to start (motherboard, ram, ssd, psu).
  13. Connect the battery in series (use one resistance to drain less current). http://led.linear1.org/led.wiz
  14. Check for socket 1151, form ATX and EATX, chipset Z170, 2 way SLI and more, ram DDR4.
  15. Upgrading from one generation is ridiculous. You should "upgrade" your overclock. :smilewink:
  16. Seasonic are the best. http://www.thetechgame.com/Archives/t=5613293/power-supply-guide-the-good-and-the-bad.html http://whirlpool.net.au/wiki/psu_manufacturers http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/psu-buying-guide,2916.html
  17. Memory support list: http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=5497#memory%20support%20list Go on manual settings: 1.35v, 15-17-17-35, 3000Mhz It's a known problem with some high MHz memory sticks. I think Gigabyte release new BIOS update to fix this error on BIOS F7. http://forums.tweaktown.com/gigabyte/62038-ga-z170x-gaming-g1-does-not-boot-xmp-2.html?
  18. Yes!
  19. In the manual page 25 (profile XMP 2): http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=5497#manual
  20. Installation options/Custom(Advanced)
  21. My i7 3770K at 4.4Ghz go to 82° with Prime95. 67° with DCS. Noctua NH-D14.
  22. Then, the Samsung 850, Maximus 8, Corsair H100i, 6600K. I think this is very good.
  23. Your Corsair H80 don't fit on the socket 1151? What is this Ranger?
